My friend is at The Heritage Downtown. It's excellent. It's a wonderful place. They're active seniors with lots to do. Good food. Very friendly people and very interesting residents. They have a restaurant onsite. The meals are part of her rent. She chose two meals a day. I have tried their food and it's excellent. There is a pool, a gym, a hair salon, a library, and a movie theater. They have a lot of activities.

I toured The Heritage Downtown. It's gorgeous from the moment you enter the property. It has lots of trees, and it's beautifully maintained. The rooms were nice. They have a washer and dryer there. I would move in right now, but I don't need it right now. It was beautiful. It's a nice community. The place is 40 years old, but you wouldn't know it. It's just kept up beautifully. They're remodeling their kitchen downstairs. They have a nice gym. They have a nice pool. They have lots of patio and outdoor space. It's nice, like walking down the street near downtown Walnut Creek. I looked at a one bedroom and I looked at a two bedroom. I just met the one lady who greeted me and the one who did the tour. She was very nice. She answered all my questions. Everybody living there was having a good time. It was like you've grown up now, and now you're in a different level of the sorority house like you're back to college. I mean, that's the atmosphere I got. I enjoyed it.

We toured The Heritage Downtown. I didn't realize it was only independent living. And at that point I was thinking we also needed assisted living. The people were extremely friendly. We had dinner. It was delicious. We saw the apartment and it was small. They had a lot of facilities and it looked like a nice place, but it just wasn't the place for us.

I toured The Heritage Downtown. There were two staff who showed me around. They were very nice and very knowledgeable. But I felt like it was too formal for me, and it was very spread out. I would not have wanted a unit if they had one at a distance away so that I would have to walk to the front door all the time. I had the feeling that it was very active. But I have scoliosis, so I can't go from there to walk downtown. I just can't see myself partaking in a lot of the activities that they have available. I saw a group playing bridge and I saw some physical activity. They showed me one unit that was a lot bigger than all of them. It had one room that was very big and could be divided up into an office space and everything. The staff said it was $8000 a month, which seemed reasonable to me.

I'm moving into The Heritage Downtown. I love the facility. It's located in a residential community and has been there for a long time. The apartments are very nice. There are large trees and a beautiful garden. They have a pool, a library, and a gym. They have trainers. They have water aerobics. They have everything as well as three meals a day if you choose. The menu is a little limited.

Positives: Excellent food, enough for 2 meals. Wonderful amenities, activities, clubs, trips. One of the very few locations offering 3 bedroom apartments. Parking is tight, but they did get us a spot and small storage bin. Good location very close to downtown. Absolutely beautiful area. Nice library. Needs improvement: When packages delivered, they would not accept them and hold for 2 days while she was in the hospital so she could pick them up. When there was smoke in the hallway from a roof construction incident, no one at the front desk would call 911. They said they "needed authorization" first. Assisted living not possible, only choice is outside help. Area was not designed for assisted living- toilets were low, stairs were everywhere, long way around to avoid them.

I was quite pleased with what they showed me at The Heritage Downtown. It's just too expensive for my taste. I'm middle class, so I'm not used to the antique furniture and things they had. The staff member was very nice and explained things thoroughly. I'm in a wheelchair and the only wheelchair-accessible places they have are two-bedrooms. I only need a one-bedroom because I'm by myself. They might have two-bedrooms because some people have caregivers with them, but I don't have a caregiver. It was very nice but not what I wanted nor did it meet my needs. I would recommend it to somebody else who may have a higher socioeconomic status than myself. Physically, it was clean, painted, and everything it should be. It also had a nice garden.

We liked The Heritage Downtown very much, but we're too mobile for that kind of place. I liked the management. The meals and the dining room were good. The building was not very up-to-date, but the services that they offered were good. The apartments looked fine, and some of the rooms had been renovated a little.

I am pretty satisfied with The Heritage Downtown. The food isn’t always the greatest, but in general it's very good. The location is excellent, and it's a big location. Parking can be good, and it's a gated community. We have exercise classes and movies every day. My room is very convenient, and I have a balcony. The view isn’t the greatest, but it's a nice, pleasant view.

The Heritage Downtown did invite us to share a meal there, and we did talk to some of the residents. It was a very nice place, and the food was very good. The residents all seemed to be very happy and glad that they have moved there. If I could afford it, I would have moved into the Heritage.

The Heritage Pointe was very nice, but they had older apartments. The apartments had been redone though. For people with mobility issues, there’s some level there on the grounds outside, but it was kept very nice. There was a very nice restaurant. The staff was great. The person showing us around was very nice and very informative. The staff was very good.

We visited The Heritage Pointe. They a beautiful and magnificent garden. Some of the rooms had balconies and terraces, there's a heated swimming pool and a jacuzzi. The apartments were smaller, but they had nice terraces, good light, and they were very nice and comfortable. There are different buildings scattered around the garden and that's lovely. Really good access. They can improve the food; I just wasn't impressed but then it could just be me.

Thank you for the lovely review. Our pool stays heated year round! I am sorry you were not impressed with our food. We take pride in our restaurant, offering a change in the menu weekly and making all our food from scratch. We always welcome comments and suggestions, as we listen to our residents and guests when planning future menus. We are always here seven days a week to answer your questions or receive feedback from a tour. Again, thank you for your review.

My mother has been very happy and comfortable at The Heritage Pointe for six and a half years. The staff is very helpful, the food is very good, and there are all kinds of activities, so you could be as busy as you want to be. She has a one-bedroom apartment with her own furniture.

Thank you for your lovely review of The Heritage Pointe! We do have so many activities....something for everyone where our residents can be as active as they choose. That is the joy of independent living. To choose the lifestyle you wish to live. Our Menu's change weekly and our food is slow cooked, with desserts and soups etc made from scratch. We are glad your mother is happy here. Many of our resents have lived here for long periods of time....some as long as 10 - 12 years. Thank you again.

They were pleasant at The Heritage Pointe. The apartments were smaller. Their meal service was different. You have a choice of 4 meals a week or a choice of 7 meals a week. It would have been a fine community. It would be my second choice. The staff was very accommodating. They showed us what was available. They were very polite and very supportive.

We’re in The Heritage Pointe right now. They do not have extended care here. However, it is very nice, and we’re quite happy here. We’re quite satisfied with it. It is particularly a good place for an older person who doesn’t need extended care. They do have a contract with outside help that comes in as aides, but they are not licensed caretakers that can administer prescriptions or things like that and it is not extended care within the facility itself. The rooms are very nice. There are three three-story buildings and one four-story building. They have a nice dining room. Their menu is very good, but they only serve two meals a day -- breakfast and dinner. There are a lot of activities. There is something going on all the time. They have trips to casinos, horse race tracks, and things like that on special occasions. They have a shuttle that takes people downtown if they don’t drive. They have an underground parking garage for those people that drive themselves. It is a very adequate facility. It is particularly designed for individuals who are still active or at least semi-active. However, the administration is a little slow to respond. They have an administration group here onsite, and all the little daily details are taken care of by local administration, but if you have something important to be done, it has to go all the way to the owners in Las Vegas in order to get approval, and it takes time. That is the major drawback of the facility.

I visited The Heritage Pointe. They were very good. They have certain things they offered that the other places didn't. They have a calendar of what goes on, and the community is convenient. I would recommend them.

My husband and I have been interviewing various local establishments for ourselves and this is the latest of our visits. This is a very impressive set of buildings in a garden setting, within 4 to 6 blocks of downtown Walnut Creek, CA. The rooms were clean, nicely thought out, with full (if small) kitchens and laundry (in room). The food was tasty, using fresh vegetables and herbs from their own gardens. Common spaces available for movies, crafts, games, swimming pool and gardening. We were impressed, and plan a second visit later in the year.
