"Ivy Park is a beautiful community. It was an impressive tour and I really liked Linda the executive director. You can tell she is passionate about her community. Unfortunately, this community is out of our price range. It would be helpful if communities could be more transparent about pricing before coming in for a tour. As of November 2025, the fee for the most basic 306 sq ft studio was $5195/month, community fee is $7000, med fees vary but we were quoted $690-$920 (it's $23 per point), they didn't give me a quote for care fees, and the estimated price increase per year I believe was 7%-10%. If you can afford it, this would be an absolutely lovely community for a loved one."

"I have visited quite a number of facilities over the years -- for my grandmother, my mother and my ex-husband. Although the levels of care for each of these family members was different, I have seen and experienced caregiving at 8 facilities. I feel confident that I can accurately assess the benefits/shortcomings of every facility with which I have had family contact. I would heartily recommend Atria Montego to the client seeking care at this financial level. My husband liked it very much (the food is superior), but he is reluctant to leave the cohort with which he has become familiar at his present facility. "

"Walnut Creek Care Home didn't have any openings, but the house was spotless. It was very, very clean. The staff there was great. There was no smell of urine or something like that. For me, this particular home just needed some remodeling. It was dated, but that doesn't detract from the fact that it was spotless and the people that were working there were wonderful. They had very caring and long-tenured staff members."

"I liked Oakmont of Montecito. It was very spacious. They seemed very caring about the residents. The food menu looked very good. The place looked very clean and very nice. The staff who showed us around was very knowledgeable about the facility. They knew a lot about how they care for people with Alzheimer's, so it was a good experience. They had a patio. They were remodeling it because they expanded memory care. We didn't go out there, but looking through the windows, they were working on that. They had an open courtyard and it looked like it was going to be very nice as well."

"Brookdale Danville was nice. The people I met were very caring and followed up with me. I actually have a friend whose grandmother is there, and I think that they have a good staff-to-resident ratio. The facility was very clean, very pretty, and small, which is kind of nice. They had an outdoor courtyard, which is nice. It’s a newer facility and very pretty. "

"I visited Sunrise of Danville and I thought that the staff was very caring and informative. They were able to give me a tour in that facility. They told me what they specifically offer. I think that was a good thing. My mother didn't need to be in a facility that's strictly for just dementia patients, but my father did. Sunrise of Danville was a combination of both which I thought was good. "

"I visited the memory care at Westmont of Pinole about 3 years ago but we have some relatives that recently moved in too. The employees were very, very friendly and the place had a warm feeling to it. The only thing that I don't like about it is that the rooms were small. The property is very nice. They had a birdcage and you can sit there and watch the birds lay eggs, then eventually the eggs hatch, and the birds come out. It's very nice. I know my cousin there is very picky but she eats the food. They have very nice people, are very warm, and the employees are very good. "

"We toured Belmont Village Albany. They had a lot of activities. We liked the programs that they had. We liked that they also had medical staff 24/7. Their place was very light and bright. They have multiple areas for eating and they’re very modern. We had cookies. They just came out for their afternoon snacks and they were really good chocolate cookies."

"We toured Watermark at San Ramon. It was very comprehensive and clean, and the person who toured the place with us was very knowledgeable. The food seemed okay because we ordered from the menu. The facility was a very well-run place, but it was not suitable for what we were looking for."

"Reutlinger has independent living, assisted living, a standalone dementia unit with 12 residents, and skilled nursing. I've always said that if I ever have to be in skilled nursing, I want to live there. It's just very upbeat--even in skilled nursing and in the dementia unit. There are no dreary, dark areas. It's a lovely area and facility. I've had clients in both independent living and assisted living, and I totally like it. Among the pluses: - It's filled with beautiful artwork, much of it by the residents. - They have excellent meals, both kosher and non-kosher. And there's coffee and snacks available through the day. - Although it's a Jewish community, it's open to non-Jewish residents. - They have a wonderful rabbi--a lovely lady. - The care staff is excellent, and they have RNs in skilled nursing. - The facility is pretty and spacious--not crowded. - They have good activities for each level of care. There's always a hustle bustle of activity even in skilled nursing. I was there early one morning, and the place was filled with music. Everyone was dancing--either in their wheelchairs or up dancing with the staff. - The residents are a very, very engaged group. This is not your bingo and puzzle crowd. "

"The staff are very dedicated to the general welfare of all the residents by creating a great sense community with various activities - such as weekly social events and movies, etc. The food is solid - healthy and varied. The dining room is really a restaurant with table service. The grounds are well maintained with flowers blooming all year-round - the roses gardens are a favorite as are the flowering trees.
