"Atria is beautiful, the area is very nice, and they have a wonderful dining area. The rooms are well-spaced according to the needs of somebody who is going to stay there. The people were very nice. The only setback was it was too expensive. My husband didn’t want to go to the facility all by himself, so it would have been the two of us. The food was very good. The people seemed to be happy, and we had a little interaction with the residents. Everybody said "Come and stay here, it’s a nice place." "

"Carlton Senior Living Pleasant Hill was wonderful. It's a beautiful facility. They're very pleasant and they gave us an amazing tour. It's just too expensive. The dining room looked beautiful. There was so much going on. They were playing card games and checkers, and they also have painting and puzzles. We came just before happy hour."

"Chateau on Broadway was roomy and seemed comfortable. The residents as well as the people that ran the place were very friendly. They had a chapel. It seemed like a good fit for my wife. They had regular activities every day, some trips outside, and ordinary exercise. They tried made it like group living, which gave off the feeling of more of a relationship like a family than a bunch of people living in a hotel. "

"We are very interested in Oakmont of Montecito. We saw assisted living and memory care and they were both excellent. I liked the facility. The staff was excellent. The activity was excellent. The upkeep or housekeeping was beautiful. Everything was beautiful. The landscaping was beautiful. They had activities going on all day, every day. They have root beer floats, poker, cards, games, movies, water aerobics, ice cream socials, walks, and beach volleyball. They have piano music. They have a barbershop and a beauty salon, and they have transport services. They have everything."

"The staff at The Ivy Berkeley was nice and professional. The rooms were very clean. The place was very new. I didn't have any issues with that. The patio looked nice and clean. They have rooftop access. We just quickly passed through the dining area because my mom was getting kind of tired, and it was a nice size. They had just finished with their lunch menu, and so the place wasn't clean, but the staff was working on it. There was a gate in the underground parking."

"There was a lot that we liked. First, the place was very nice, then we liked the fact that we could transition into assisted living as needed. We also liked that they had physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy on-site. One of the selling points was you live in separate little cottages in the independent living there. They had a gym, a game room, and a movie theater. The lady giving us the tour was very nice, too."

"We toured Belmont Village Albany. They had a lot of activities. We liked the programs that they had. We liked that they also had medical staff 24/7. Their place was very light and bright. They have multiple areas for eating and they’re very modern. We had cookies. They just came out for their afternoon snacks and they were really good chocolate cookies."

"Lake Park in Oakland has a vibrant independent living component. I like the physical layout quite a lot. The rooms were larger than some places I've visited. It's an older facility, but it has been renovated a lot. It's a large building, too. The staff members are very positive and very helpful. I tried the food, but it was not the highlight of the community. They have a limited menu, and they aren't making as big a deal out of it as some places do. There were a lot of large and small rooms that you could use for different things, whether you were doing crossword puzzles, you were sitting in their library, you were having your friends over, or you were watching films. There were lots of spaces and different options, and you could reserve those for what you wanted to do."

"My dad moved in. It's a newer facility. It's very nice, very clean. The dinner options were nice. There's a great view. The weather's nice and the people are friendly. The room was nice and the bathroom is ADA compliant in his studio. So far, so good, it's only been a couple of weeks though. They have movies, games, poker, happy hour, cribbage, and shuttles to local restaurants. There are several courtyards and a little breezeway down to the water."

"We're considering it because it's a 10-minute walk from where we live. The overall experience with my tour was very good. We got a lot of information and we saw the facility. It was good. We saw several rooms. The place was clean, neat, and well-lit. It looked safe for the residents to be in. I would describe the staff as caring, thoughtful, and non-invasive."

"I have visited Marymount Villa, and this is definitely where my mother-in-law is in. It is very small. She is on the psychiatric floor, so she needs very special attention. The care seems to be fine. They all knew her. I think the food is excellent. I was impressed with it. "
