"I have Chateau Cupertino for my mom. There weren't that many independent living places around, and it was very close to where I am. The staff is very nice. They're just little 1-bedroom apartments. I had the food there; it was fine. They have bingo, and the bus takes them to the grocery store in the town, to the movies, and out to lunch. They have a card room. They have all kinds of stuff going on. It totally fits what we were looking for. "

"It was a very good place. The gal we spoke to, Devin, was very helpful, very informative, and answered the questions we had. The menu looked terrific, and they would provide 2 meals a day. Everything was clean. The apartment we saw was very nice. This facility was more confined. It was more indoors. It was like a land cruise; everything was indoors. When we were there, a couple of people came up and said hi. They just acknowledged us and it was very pleasant. We used the restrooms, and they all were very clean."

"Great Marketing Director - Adane! Also the residents I met spoke nothing but positive about their experience. Nice modern facility- new. Food was delicious and best salad of all retirement facilities I have visited. It’s like a high rise hotel. Full kitchen and washer/dryer in unit. In-house rehabilitation available. Swimming pool is a great feature. Internet included a plus. Weekly cleaning and laundry service. And best price I’ve found yet. Only downsides are poor outside views from room. Area is all tall apartment buildings and lack of green space. Lack of safe outdoor walking. The prices are less due to location. Every facility has its high and low points. I only rated a 4 because of area and view issues. Quite a nice facility."

"Carlton Plaza was very nice. My mom, didn't liked the room because it was studio and she wanted a one-bedroom apartment, but everything else was really good. I liked it because they have memory care. The staff was really helpful. They had swimming, the had a lot of stuff on health, they had a diabetes workshop and a whole lot of other workshops. I would recommend it to other. "

"I went to the Regency, and I thought it was very nice, but it was not what my husband needed at that time. I felt it is more of a residential unless you go into an area for people with memory loss. I saw a room, and it was very nice, but it was not furnished. I was very impressed, and I could move in there. "

"I went to see Bridgepoint at Los Altos, which is a totally different type of place. It's not in good condition, and the rooms are very small. It's a very different atmosphere, and it's not elegant. I think the activity there is feeding you. You go down to breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are no reservations. You just mingle. I think it's an older group and a less affluent group. You still pay the high cost of care, and it isn't much different than all the other places. It's a monthly thing you put down. It is a hundred dollars down to put you on the list, but you get that back. You're only paying monthly. You go from regular living to assisted living; then I think beyond that, you'd have to go someplace else if you had memory issues or anything. I toured the independent living, and the young man there was delightful. The place is not divided though, and you don't change rooms for all these cares. The care comes to your room. It's not at all like a hotel. You don't make reservations for dinner and anything. It might meet my temporary needs better than the others, but it isn't a five-star in terms of anything like beauty or size of rooms. I had a friend there. She and her husband moved in for a month. She said it has wonderful food. It just seemed like an older group. Her husband couldn't find anyone to talk to because the residents were so old, and they both like going out. You don't have to put any money down. It can go from $7,000 to maybe even up to $12,000 a month, depending on how much care you need. That is sort of in line with other places. You wouldn't get a nice room and you wouldn't have a hotel experience, but it seemed like a friendlier place when I walked in. More people were moving around and talking to each other. I don't know about the activities, but it seems like more people were interacting there because they all had to come down to meals. All three meals were provided. I think if somebody needed a temporary place and were going somewhere else, it wouldn't be a bad place."

"We really liked Carlton Senior Living Fremont. It was nice, clean, they have a lot of activities to do for the seniors. They have a large activity room and they have a calendar of things that they do daily. They also have a media room where they watch movies, an outdoor patio area, they have a private room for when you want your family over. The apartments are nice. You can go to a studio apartment there which is more than enough room for my father-in-law. The staff was great and very very helpful. They serve 3 meals a day plus snacks every day. There was also a courtyard outside. They have memory care there also."

"My mother is in Westmont of Morgan Hill. She enjoys it. There are a lot of activities going on for her. Overall, the staff is very friendly. It is very expensive so we downsize her to a studio apartment to make it a little bit more affordable. They have beautiful studios. I do not think they design or made it for people who are elderly because they have kitchen cabinet and refrigerator, but there are not accessible. The closets are small, but they are beautiful rooms and well ventilated. It is a nice place. "
