"Gentiva was the only company that really got back to me. Carol is the account manager and she does everything. My mom was in the hospital and called me with an awful stomachache and then I called Carol because it seemed like I needed somebody all night. Carol went out to my mom's and sat with her and dealt with her and kept me on the phone. Then, my mom was put in a rehab and the care there was so horrible that I ended up hiring the Gentiva ladies the rest of the week just to be with my mom from 12:00 to 8:00 every day (I did the morning). I got her out of rehab, and Gentiva started full-time. Poonam is the branch director. These gals were on the phone with me, constantly checking in and making sure I was all right, not really advising me, but giving me options. I had a team of caregivers from Gentiva, and they all were fabulous. I couldn't ask for more caring ladies. I used them for a couple of nights. They couldn't have been better. I was in and out constantly and they were there. They gave my mother super personal care. Somehow, they got her hair washed while she was still in bed. They just went above and beyond. Even the overlapping, one would be off and one would come. They would definitely check with each other. It didn't feel like they were ever punching a clock. Our favorite gal worked with a different family as well and she would pop in and out. When she was done with the other family, she would just come over. Everyone really pitched in to help my mom end her life as comfortably as possible. I have all these people on speed dial if I ever need this kind of care for any of my family or myself. I wouldn't be shopping around at all. These will be my go-to people. They're still contacting me. I would give five stars for their caregivers and five stars for Poonam and Carol. I wouldn't have made it without them. One of the caregivers was actually there with my mother when she passed away. I would give them a very high rating. They would give me phone calls, texting, and emailing me stuff that I needed. My mom liked all of them. They were really, really gentle with her and she needed a lot of care. They weren't just sitting there holding her hand. She was up all night. I'm just glad I had the support I did."
