"Belmont Village Senior Living Los Gatos is a nice facility. It's less than a year old, so everything is shiny and new. One thing I noticed is, they didn't have handrails on hallways to assist people who might be able to walk but needed a little steadying. They had a molding, but I don't think it was sufficient as a handrail. It was semi-high rise; it might have been five stories. The activity room and movie room and so forth were centrally located. They were on the second and third floors, and they had a Josephine's restaurant on the first floor. The rooms were smallish. The studio especially, was smallish, but the 1-bedroom was nice, but it was very pricey. I only met with the Marketing Director. The facility is very good; it's laid out so you don't have to go too far to get to things."

"The Watermark at Almaden was very nice. However, for my friend's needs, it was overpowering with activities and size. It was beautiful, but I would not have chosen it only because of its size and the fact that it was not something that my friend needed. The staff was very nice. The lunch I had was very nice, but I sat by myself. They had many activities. There were huge rooms everywhere. They had a library, game rooms, and theaters. It was a beautiful facility. I can't say that I found anything out of order or anything. The director did a good job. I was just a little disappointed that he didn't join me for lunch, but maybe he had other things to do. Upkeep and cleanliness were wonderful."

"I visited the Palm Villas of Campbell. Gary, one of the owners, gave me the tour, and it was very nice. They're very focused on their residents, and essentially, they convey that they do whatever they need to do to take care of their residents through end of life, so that's a positive for them. They have a nice outdoor patio area with a big bird sanctuary. The rooms have two configurations, and they're all shared. One was more of an L-shape, and one was more of a rectangle. They also provide furniture like beds, dressers, and nightstands. It's a little dated, but they're providing it for you, and they're not charging rent or anything on the furniture. I didn't ask if we could choose to bring our own, so I don't know about that. It's a very clean facility. It's an older building that they've updated and upgraded, but all the amenities are there. It's all on one level, spread out over a couple different hallways and different areas like an activity room and a dining room. One of the good things about them was that they have their own chef and their own kitchen there. They don't buy any pre-made food; they shop the ingredients, and they make their own food. I was looking for memory care during my visit. They're a locked facility, and they said they will provide whatever care is needed up to end of life. They also have an activity director; it's someone they have who just focuses on activities. From what I remember, they provide a full day of activities. Back when visitors are allowed with their families, they were really focused on having families join them on special events. They will do parties where family members are encouraged to come once COVID is over."

"Mother is at Carlton Senior Living, and we're actually very happy with it. We liked it, it's a beautiful place, they have lots of activities for the seniors, and the care was really good. She's happy there. They have exercise classes, they bring in music, she had art class, and she liked it a lot. They take them out walking, and there's a trail. "

"All About Seniors is an actual home setting, so it's very homey, comfortable, and has a relaxed feel. The staff also lives there so they take care of the place very well, it's very clean. The food is excellent, and because there's only six residents, the ratio is 3:6, so it's a good level of care. They still have the usual activities. People come in and play music, there are arts and crafts, and so on. It's a lot less expensive than other facilities, but provides much better care."

"I visited my friend's mother who lived at Villa Fontana and it was an older facility, which they had redone. It was nice and it had a pleasant environment. It was conveniently located and it was a very desirable place. I don't know how much she's paying but it is in the upper medium range. It had a lot of pluses and I liked. It had the nurses checked on her and does vital signs hourly, which was kind of above and beyond, but they were doing it to reassure her more than anything. They had a nice dining room and she had her meal either in the dining room or in her own room. "

"Vista Harden Ranch was nice, and they had a shared balcony. The rooms were decent, and they seemed to provide everything that was necessary. My dad didn't want to be in a big town; he wanted to be in a smaller town. The staff who assisted us there was great. Their facilities aren't that memorable. I've seen a library, fitness room, a little reading room, and TV area."

"The Watermark at San Jose has been open for several months now. We've met some of the staff but not enough to evaluate them. We've met the chef and the manager and it's all positive. It's very nice and it is a little less expensive than the other place. We had lunch and we were unimpressed. I wouldn't give the lunch any more than a three. The presentation was not very good. The plating was less than what you would expect in a nice restaurant."

"My mother moved into Juliet Stephen RCH. It was a very good experience. Their response time when you push the button is so far it's always been under a minute. That's a huge thing right now. It's like a three-star hotel as far as their amenities. They have a parking lot, a patio, and a deck. I've tried a little bit of the food here and there, it's good. It's better than nourishment. They have pretty much whatever you want. I liked the staff and that every room there has its own sliding glass door and private entrance. However, the bathroom is getting really worn and needs to be upgraded."

"My dad stayed at Sonnet Hill Senior Living. They assisted him with his medications. They coordinated with Kaiser to get him his own wheelchair and provided meals, they have activities there, but he didn't participate in those. They're doing his laundry and apartment cleaning. He got everything he needed, and he enjoyed the staff. They had a good variety of food."
