"I toured Bellara Senior Living. It was nice, very fancy. An experience that you want for anyone senior and transitioning into their later years. They have on-call nurses, and they have everything that you need there, you don't have to go out and get it, very much assisted. Everything is there all at once. You don't have to go anywhere. The staff was nice. They were very welcoming. They just wanted to get to know me and my family and make sure that if we were choosing that place, it would be the right place for us. It's a very new building. They had a bar. They had a bunch of seating areas. They had fancy bathrooms. They had a workout area. They had a whole courtyard where you could sit and talk and grill food. They had a beautiful kitchen that was restaurant-style."

"Landmark Villa had a different feel to it. It was much more family-oriented and homey. Everything that they do is done together. I had the most impressive experience with the person who toured me. She was able to understand first the needs that I was looking for and then geared everything about the tour towards those needs. I liked that personal attention, instead of showing me everything even though some of the things may not even apply to my mother-in-law. It was a different approach. They also had me come in and meet some of the residents. They let me talk to them as well as some of the relatives visiting. So, they were more open."

"Heart & Soul looked more like a home than a hospital, and made it easier to transition my grandmother there. The prices were very reasonable, the other patients that were there were similar in culture to my grandmother, and so it worked out. She is in a shared room, which is spacious and lovely. The private rooms were beautiful, but cost too much. The person that runs the program is amazing, the staff is amazing and take really good care of her. They have a garden, and people come in to do the residents’ hair and nails. I did see the food, it definitely was what I’m used to eating. My grandmother’s complaint was it wasn’t hot enough for her, so they have to reheat it. "

"What I like about Marymount Villa is that it's close to many things. It's close to the bus station so I can get around in the area here, the shops that I can go to, and the restaurants. The staff does a good job in taking care of me as well as people with disabilities. The room that I have is a fairly good size. I have my bed and my TV. Their dining room is nice with murals on the wall, but it would be nicer if they have a chef although the food is pretty good. They have some activities as well. The bad thing about it is that I am mentally competent, and most people that are going to assisted living don’t communicate so there is nobody to talk to. They can improve on answering the call button more efficiently. "

"Nirmala and her staff are caring and took extremely good care of my mother-in-law. Nirmala is very perceptive and understands how various medication can affect the patient. The staff is very attentive to the individual needs of their residents. The rooms are roomy and homely. The staff encourages the patients to interact together and they provide on-site games and activities. The staff made meals tailored to my MIL as there were some foods which she did not like. I was very impressed with GLGH and would myself be very happy to live there."

"I was very pleased with this community. They were quite friendly, and the situation at this facility seemed like it could be a good one. One thing that I liked the most is the meals are available all day long. You donÕt have to eat at a certain time. The rooms were quite spacious compared it to other facilities. Their dining room is quite nice. The residents look happy living there. "

"We did a walkthrough at Emerald Valley. Everything was great, but we didn't choose it for my parents. The rooms were good. The sizes were fine, too. It's a brand-new place, so it's a good facility. They offered us to come and try the food, but since we weren't going to move in we didn't. The dining area was fine though."

"I toured Welcome Home Senior Residences-Dublin for my mother. It seemed like they only have a handful of residents like four or six, so, it seems like they kind of do whatever the individual needs. It wasn't a group approach. The house was clean and cozy. I felt like there was a little bit of a trip hazard between the flooring, but it was very small and my mom's pretty stable. There was a little bit of a funny smell in there, too. But they also said they just had the couch cushions cleaned and we had our masks on. So, I don't know if it was just the cleaning solution. The person that gave us the tour doesn't stay there, but she was very good and knowledgeable. The two staff people that were there were quiet, but they seemed efficient, and they seemed present. We only saw one resident and I don't know if the others were just in their room. It doesn't seem like there was much activity going on like in a group home where they can plan for all the residents. If you want a quiet, calm, and just homey atmosphere, I think it was very nice. I might put my mom in more of a group setting because I think she needs more interaction and more inclusion and activity that would be planned. The dining area was just like the kitchen of a home. There was one big table which looked beautiful."

"We visited for my brother, and our visit there was really good. The staff was really good. Everything was brand new, so it was all very nice, and the rooms were like a regular-sized apartment. The dining area was very nice, big, and like a restaurant with very good food. They offered them a menu with choices. They had a lot of daily activities, exercise room, and game room. They had bingo and social hour."

"We placed him at Danville Home because we felt that the place was safe inside. A nice lady gave us a tour of the whole place. They were cooking lunch, and it smelled good. It looks like the place is very good to live in. The room was small, but it’s adequate for him. "

"Ivy Park at San Ramon was big. It's a little outdated, in my opinion. There was an activity going on when I was there, so that's where the guests were, but the dining room and the living room were in the back. Everything's in the back, and it was just darker. It didn't have the right feel for me. The staff during the tour was lovely. The room I saw had a wall between the living area and the bedroom, but it had a big cutout window. It had an outdated kitchen. They had not done updates in the studio apartments other than maybe some paint."

"I toured Welcome Home Senior Residence - Pleasanton. It's clean and neat, and it smelled good. The person who gave the tour was nice, they were friendly and open to showing the guest rooms or client rooms. I spoke to a guest there, she was very happy with the staff, and she liked the facility. She thought they were good-humored and she's enjoying her stay there, that's what she told me. It seemed nice, but they didn't have any openings at the time. And that was just an impromptu visit, they were not expecting me, and they're satisfactory."

"The Mary's Manor house seemed OK, but the price was a little off from what they had listed, so I was taken back a little by that. I had a full viewing of the property and saw the rooms that were becoming available. I also saw the structured menu that they had, and all of that seemed fine. I made a decision based on the fact that there's only a few residents there, and I didn't think my mom would fit in with a small group. It was a residential property"

"It was one of our favorites because it's a relatively small community. I think they only have probably eighty residents. Given that it's a relatively small community, there's lots of personal care. We loved the sight. It was a beautiful sight. The rooms were adequate and nice. We liked the staff. They were wonderful. The good news is that it also has a memory care unit, which was what we were looking for. It has both an assisted living and a memory care unit. That was one of our best choices. "

"Waters Edge Lodge is a wonderful residence for seniors who are mobile. It is close to a small shopping centre and along a beautiful waterway.
