"I was very impressed with Atria Willow Glen. It is an older property, but it's beautiful with the trees and the woods. My dad likes it. They showed us a 1-bedroom that overlooks a wooded area. They also showed us some of the garden patios; my dad was interested in those. They were older rooms, but they were updating them. It was really nice."

"The Watermark at San Jose has been open for several months now. We've met some of the staff but not enough to evaluate them. We've met the chef and the manager and it's all positive. It's very nice and it is a little less expensive than the other place. We had lunch and we were unimpressed. I wouldn't give the lunch any more than a three. The presentation was not very good. The plating was less than what you would expect in a nice restaurant."

"It is brand new and we liked the services they were providing every day to my mom. They have a very open lobby and a lot of activities all day long like outside people that would come in and perform music. For the 4th of July, they did a patriotic music performance where they had a little music and dance thing. There's even a movie theater where they watch movies every night at 6:30 (which looks like an actual movie theater) and they also do barbecues out on the patio. It's the best place I've seen in this area. It's beautiful. Like a cruise on land. It's very clean and they have very friendly staff. I had dinner with my mom and they had snacks and stuff, too, and the food was just fabulous."

"Oakmont was brand new and nice. The only reason why we didn’t pick this one was because of its location. The staff was very accommodating and showed us around. The rooms were really nice. There wasn’t much going on when we were there because they had just opened. It was really nice, but the location was in a high traffic area. I will recommend it because the lady who helped us was so nice. If it had been located somewhere else, we would have put my mom in there. "

"Of the three that we visited, this was the one that we liked the best for independent living. The other two that we toured were not necessarily good for my mother for independent living. This was more like apartment living rather, and the other two were more like hotel living almost. The staff was very helpful. They replied to us quickly if we had questions. We only saw certain staff because we haven't moved in yet. It seemed safe and secure and the inside is clean and bright. The size of the room is perfect for her needs. The other two places were much smaller. We liked the fact that it was a one-bedroom rather than a studio and it had a little bit of a kitchenette area which the others didn't have."

"My mother moved into Juliet Stephen RCH. It was a very good experience. Their response time when you push the button is so far it's always been under a minute. That's a huge thing right now. It's like a three-star hotel as far as their amenities. They have a parking lot, a patio, and a deck. I've tried a little bit of the food here and there, it's good. It's better than nourishment. They have pretty much whatever you want. I liked the staff and that every room there has its own sliding glass door and private entrance. However, the bathroom is getting really worn and needs to be upgraded."

"We moved into Belmont Village and we liked it. They have a very nice staff and they treat you right. We have a little suite that has two rooms, a bedroom and a living room and we go down to the dining room for a meal. They have a lot of activities and we've been to exercise classes. "

"Sonnet Hill Senior Living was delightful. It was my choice for my friend who's 98 years old. I took her and we went through a second tour, and they got her a wheelchair because she was having a very, very difficult time walking. They were very kind and they greeted us very warmly. I also had been there a couple of days before and after our tour. It was a very, very warm place and very accommodating. I liked them very much. I didn't meet too many of the staff because it was late in the day, but I enjoyed them very much. The gal took me on the tour and we sat down in the foyer. We chatted for about an hour and it was closing time, but she gave me all the time in the world and I frankly made friends with these people. I felt right at home with them, and I knew that my friend would enjoy them. They had activity rooms where they painted and did crafts. They had a movie room where they showed movies. They had exercise rooms. It was perfect for what my friend's needs were. We had a meal there, and it was nice."

"My mother moved into assisted living 3 years ago with beginning Alzheimer's. When she got further along, we moved her into "Our House" their memory care unit. We really made the right decision. As in Assisted Living, the caregiver's are wonderful and attentive to their residents. One thing that impressed me was the fact that they wash everyone's clothes daily...therefore no smell that many places have. They encourage residents to take part in many activities, keeping them active. Mom shares a lovely room an their beds are made daily, everything is neat. They get 3 meals a day and snacks morning & afternoon. All in all, I am so satisfied with them, that we were able to take a 2 week vacation this year with no worry about Mom. "

"My mother is in Belmont Village of Sunnyvale. It is in our neighborhood. The food is excellent for the elderly. The rooms are very nice. They are somewhat like a hotel room. They are very clean and very organized with nice views from the rooms. They have patios. They have lots of activities. They have memory games for the elderly with memory problems. They go out on trips. What I like best are their caregivers. They are very kind and attentive to the people there. "
