My mother was at this facility for over seven years. She had her own apartment. When her health went bad she moved to the extended care facility. In the end she moved to the dementia area. She passed away at 96. The staff over that period were excellent and very helpful and I could not ask for better cooperation. My wife says the Meadows is where we are going as we age significantly.

Los Gatos Meadows was very nice and very clean. The staff was very good, but the rooms were small. The food was excellent and the residents looked very happy.

We visited Los Gatos Meadows, and it is in a good location. Very nice staff and exquisite dining room. We tried the food and it was good. The price is high for the units.

I went to Los Gatos Meadows. Everybody was so nice. It was just perfect. I was very much impressed, very pleased, and very comfortable to have someone like that to speak with. The rooms were studios. They were working on the place today replacing the carpeting and tiles. We were going to go back next week to look closer. However, I had already decided because I was very happy with it. I felt really good about the Meadows. I was just very impressed with the place and the people that I talked to. They were very nice to be around and talk to.

Los Gatos Meadows was very nice. I was originally going to move in there because my daughter lives nearby. It is a very beautiful facility. It has a gorgeous view. It is located on a hill. It also has a nice view from the dining room. However, one of the reasons I was not interested in it is that they test everybody every year to make sure people are mentally acute. I think it is OK that they’re aware of their clients’ needs, but I didn’t like the idea of having to take a test every year. I thought it was very intrusive. Also the facility is quite isolated even though it is near downtown Los Gatos. You have to walk down the hill, and it was quite long distance to get to town. Nevertheless, the people were very nice. The clients, and the staff were very nice.

I saw Los Gatos Meadows for my mother. It was a pretty setting and close to downtown. There was a very walkable neighborhood around it. The director who showed me around was very personable and sensitive to our needs and what we were looking for. This facility was well-kept. It definitely seemed like a really nice place. If I could afford it, it would have been very nice. It was the priciest place I saw.

I would like to have a second visit with Los Gatos Meadows in January to have more of an explanation about their fees, etc. It's a facility like any other. Since it's an older facility, it doesn't have the washer and dryer in the rooms, but it is month-to-month, has a cafeteria, and offers full care until you're required to be put into hospice. What I like is that it has a little strip mall around the corner, so it affords me a little more independence in terms of what my needs may be. If I want to buy something, I don't need to depend on getting a ride because it's in walking distance.

The staff was very helpful. Los Gatos Meadows is set up so that you have your own individual apartment. The food was very good. The dining room was very elegant and overlooks the valley. It didn't have the cafeteria feel to it. It is just gorgeous. They have afternoon movies, readings in the library, a lot of people will go in one of the memory care areas where they can play and watch video games, and they have field trips.

Los Gatos Meadows was a little older and worn and it had difficult access. You would have to drive-up a hilly road and walk down a very steep heel. Their parking was very limited and it was on multi-levels. The rooms were small and outdated. But the staff looked very good. They had activities there also.

The facility was clean and unlike many other assisted living facilities, this one was manned by personnel that actually seemed to care about the fact that you and the patient were real people with feelings. So many other places treat you as if you don't matter, like you're just a cog in the machine, but not here. It made visiting him that much less painful, bringing up fewer memories of painful past experiences. It meant a lot to me that if he had to go, at least he left in comfort in a well-run facility with kind people to help ease his passage into the great beyond. The food actually smelled good, too! That's a first.
