"My wife was in Cedar Crest for about a month and a half in a shared room. They had good activities and did some outside. The people working there were very nice, and the food was good. "

"My father was treated well. The nurses, cafeteria staff, and assistants are pretty responsive and nice. Anytime we needed thickener, cups, spoons, extra bowls, medicines, pain reliever, snacks, water, and so forth we were accommodated within 5 to 10 minutes if a nurse was non-occupied. The only negative thing I did not like was the in between shift changes of nursing staffs. For a good hour in between my father and adjacent patients could not get any help to change sheets and assistance to go to the bathroom. I suggest checking with the nursing staff for their shifts so that if you have family members that can fill in the gaping hour, it would alleviate any remorse for your kindled love one in between. Additionally if the patient needs assistance he/she must press a staff alert button wired to the bed wherein there is no audio sound or chime, only a light that visually comes on outside of the patients room. Hence if no staff is around during this time to see the light, chances are no assistance will be rendered immediately. Otherwise I am quite happy that my father is recovering comfortably from here in the WB facility from his weakened heart & kidney conditions and surgery from nearby O'connor hospital. FYI, make sure to ask your insurance provider and case worker carefully if your loved one is fully covered and also to explain in detail the progression in health your loved one must show as the WB facility manager will review every 2-3 weeks in coherence with your case worker and insurance for continued coverage. There have been cases I've heard where rehab patients end up either paying for deductibles or hefty collection payments. Overall I would say I am satisfied as me and my family visit our father every day as it has been a full month now. The staff are still professional and friendly. Parking can get full. Be prepared to park on the street and possibly even across the street. Be cautioned! Every 3rd Thursday of the month there is street sweeping, hence avoid parking patrol citations on these days of the month. Hope this helps! "

"My grandmother was a resident at this facility for a short time to recover from a surgery. Her husband, my grandfather, was a resident for a long time (that is why my grandmother stayed here for her recovery) and eventually passed away here. He became a resident originally because he was very weak and my grandmother could not care for him. In addition, he was having other physical and mental health issues (dementia). We hoped that he would get strong enough, from the physical therapy, to live at home again, but that did not happen.The facility seems clean and tidy. The staff were mainly very nice and helpful. The place definitely has an odd and distinctive smell, but it's not awful. I mostly know about the dining facilities and food, since I usually visited for mealtimes. I would not give high ratings for the food. For example, for a while, my grandfather could not eat food that required a lot of chewing. So instead of serving him a salad of iceberg lettuce, they gave him pureed iceberg lettuce. I don't understand why they're even serving the regular iceberg salad, since it has almost no nutritional value, and it was difficult enough as it was for my grandfather to eat enough food. It seems that nutrition at this facility could be much improved. "

"Mom lived in San Tomas since December 2019. The staff of all the departments demonstrate great care and compassion. The staff provide excellent patient services in all aspects. The rooms and bath rooms are always clean. The residents enjoy the activities and in-house concerts a lot. We get updates timely, and the staff are always available for our questions and inquires 24/7-we call a lot. Really appreciate the patience and kindness!! We are truly grateful! "What I really like about the building is it is super clean, no smell of a nursing home. The staff seem to have worked there for a very long time and the charge nurses always seem nice and friendly. "

"We were referred to Willow Glen by the hospital and we chose it because it was by our house. The staff was excellent. They were very good. My father was in a shared room. It was very clean and large. My father really liked the food there because they would give him the menu and if he didn't want something, he would just cross it off and they would give him other options, i.e., cheeseburger or sandwich, so he would just write in what he wanted. The food was very good. He really liked the food. He could eat in his room or in the dining area. The dining room was big and nice. They did have activities, i.e. church services on Sunday, but my father didn't really like to go to activities. What I like best about this facility was that it was very clean and friendly. I would recommend this facility to others. "

"My mother-in-law is in Amberwood Gardens. They are very good. The staff is wonderful. They really know her, and they pay the residents a lot of individual attention. They find ways to bring her out of her room and join the activities until she gets used to it. They took her along on the outings that they do, and she loves going out with them. They attend to her needs. They do her nails for her. She has a wonderful aide that really helps her with showering. She has an on and off skin condition, and they help her attend to that. They are very supportive. She is sharing a room at the dementia unit. The dining room is kind of plain, but it is adequate, and the people get to sit together; there are 4 to 6 people to a table. The food seems very good and very adequate. She says she likes it, and she's gained probably 10 pounds since we brought her there. We are thrilled because she is eating and she likes it. They do lunch outings once a month. Every day they have activities in the activity room; sometimes it will be bingo, sometimes it will be drawing or doing a little exercise thing, and she likes that. They do current events, and they seem to do a lot with playing music. "

"Greenhills Manor was small facility with around fifty or eighty bed only and I thought it was very good. It was clean and they had a patio where patients could sit. Their residential neighborhood was more relax and quiet. "

"Sunnyvale Post-Acute Center is very well-staffed and very, very helpful. The only drawback here is that for most of the staff, English is not their first language. The food is not wonderful, but it is OK. The activities are primarily physical therapy."

"My mother is in the Camden PostAcute Care in Campbell. My first impression is that it is a converted motel because it looks like an old motel. Other than that, it looks like it's well-kept, clean, and tidy inside. I think the staff is doing an okay job from what they tell me, although my mom claims that she's not getting showered enough there. They give my mom therapy two or three times a week. The dining area and the food look really good. My mom gets served hot food and coffee there, and it looks very good."

"Vista Manor is peaceful and serene! Nestled in the heart of a small residential area right off of Alum Rock Ave, in San Jose. Yet one block away from the hospital. As you enter into this facility is a lovely large family room with guest book on desk to sign. Nurses are very friendly there. Residence have two dining rooms that have large windows to see the outdoors. Inside these dining rooms are large t.v. screens that have the news on for most residence that prefer to watch that. One of the activities there is movie night on the weekends. Some residence there are always visiting with family inside the family room. I've noticed that the kitchen provides snacks around the clock if the resident feels like a small snack to eat, such as: cookies, applesauce,punch to drink...Residents or family may knock on the kitchen door to request food. This facility has a very helpful and friendly staff that works inside the rehabilitation department. They are always communicating with family members and the resident on the best way to rehabilitate certain behaviors, or disabilities that their loved ones have. The nursing staff has offered a small snack for me a visitor! And they love to talk to get to know you more personally! "

"I love Sunny View. The people are amazingly kind and helpful. I've been so surprised at how wonderful the people have been, which you don't always find in retirement communities. Everything is included, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They give you two entrees on the menu and choices for dessert, soup, and salad. The food is good. They have all of the things that you want, like buses to take you shopping, people coming in to do shows for you, a section with a library and games, and a theater for movies. They have a shopping room where people can donate things to it, and once a week it's open for the residents to come and buy at low prices. They have a doctor who comes in on a regular basis. You can come in as individual living then you can go towards assisted living, all the way to a section for Alzheimer's patients. They have beautiful grounds and little fountains that are well kept. My mother chose to live in the villas and I love them. It's like a two-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. She walks out her back sliding patio and has this enclosed gorgeous garden area. She can set out a table, chairs, and an umbrella, and she has places to put potted plants. It has a beautiful iron gate that you can walk out of in order to go to the dining facility. The staff is amazing, and they have all kinds of activities."
