I would rate Mountain View Health Care Center (MVHC) a ZERO for how they treated my husband, the patient, and me, the spouse and advocate from December 1 to December 11, 2020. My husband went into this facility on December 1, 2020 from a hospital with a NEGATIVE covid test, since MVHC would *not* take covid positive patients. They were a covid-free facility! By December 5, I learned that they had covid-positive patients admitted. They NEVER told me or called me to tell me this news! I wanted him transferred to another covid-free facility STAT, but they stalled, and stalled, and stalled! The staff would NOT talk to me. They NEVER called me about anything, not one time: my husband’s health, his status, the covid in their facility. In fact, they would NOT return my calls and even hung up on me twice rather than talking to me. The only reason he got out of there was to go back to hospital for a medical procedure. The hospital tested him immediately for covid, and YES, he was POSITIVE. Due to MVHC’s lack of proper covid protocols, my husband acquired the covid virus in their facility despite my pleas to extract him from there for OVER ONE WEEK! Their cooperation was NIL! Did they just want the money? He definitely caught the covid virus there, since he was negative going in, went nowhere in between , and was positive coming out. MVHC is negligent and not deserving of any more patients!

I have mixed feelings about Mountain View Healthcare Ctr. Most of the caregivers were awesome. The PT and OT were very thorough, but I didn't care for the doctor that was there. She seemed a little impersonal. When I went to visit Dad one day, I found him in his wheelchair falling down and he was calling for help. I was very frustrated. The food was also not very good. A lot of times, they brought the food in but they didn't even offer to serve it to my father even though he had a broken wrist. Despite the fact that it was an older place, it was very well maintained, freshly painted everywhere, and extremely clean.

I've lived in Mountainview for forty years and I wanted something close to my house. I had a list of about 40 places to choose from and this Mountainview healthcare center sounded most attractive. My brother checked it out and said it would be okay. I've been here long enough to be very comfortable. It's a wonderful place. On my side of the building, we have a little yard, and in the middle of the building, there's an atrium that's landscaped. There's a big tree and four therapeutic bunny rabbits. My room is wonderful. I have very good care. They have very good and capable CNAs, they respond in emergency situations well and on a day to day basis they're quite good. The nursing staff is very competent and more tuned to geriatric services than others. The director of nursing is just fabulous and the ombudsman is quite remarkable. There is a very good physical therapy staff and they really address the needs of the patients. There's a very active resident council and a good activities department. They have activities that are good for the Alzheimer's unit, for everybody and adults that are more functioning because 90% of the patients are wheelchair bound. We also have a part time beautician here. They're constantly working on the food and they take criticism, compliments and constructive suggestions well from the residents. For the 4th of July, we had the most wonderful barbecue outside and there was even a piano player. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg to be here and it provides a lot for the money.
