My dad was at Mission Skilled Nursing Home. Everyone that worked there was just very kind and very attentive to him. He felt really like he was cared for by the staff. With cleanliness, it was decent. With COVID going on, they made the best out of the situation. It could have done better, but I think it was OK. With regards to care, he was cared for really well. Everybody worked really hard. They really were attentive. He was able to get what he needed. With regards to meals, it sounds like my dad was getting what he needed. It was covered by his Medicare. They need to improve on better communication and maybe a little bit more staffing, but that has to do with COVID.

My mother has been there for five months now. The best part is the nursing staff seems to really care about the patients. The real problem is with the front office. My mother has a social worker who manages things but doesn't know how to return phone calls. I heard that my mother needed to go to O'Connor for a quick procedure. I made multiple phone calls to find out what happened but no return call. When I called the main number to see if anyone could give me some info, I was promised that I would hear from someone by the end of the day. That you was a week ago and no response. This happened into the second month and I had to mention things like lawsuits. That did get their attention for a while but now we are back to no communication. I live in another state and fly down once a month to check on my mother so getting some basic communication is important to me. Unfortunately I have to find someone in a administration position to get answers which means less time with my mother when I am there.

My husband was in Mission Skilled Nursing twice, and he passed away in June. It was very crowded. It was clean. The staff was great. The doctors and the nurses were great. It was just. The food was OK.

I was required to volunteer in this nursing facility for community-based learning at my university (Santa Clara University). I visited with residents every Friday afternoon to socialize with them and help complete afternoon activities; these mostly consisted of arts-and-crafts-type things, like making Valentine's Day cards and decorating pillows. The residents were mostly very nice and seemed content and satisfied with their services. I also helped serve afternoon snacks and participated in trivia games with residents. Every staff member I met with was kind and patient, and seemed to generally care about the residents. The facility itself was fairly nice, modest in decor, but seemed to contain all necessary amenities to make residents feel comfortable and at home. There were a large number of nurses always milling around; no one resident ever seemed to be left without care. Overall, it was a good experience for me and was in a prime location to either walk or bike from my school, which was important in my enjoyment of working there.
