"My father is in Windsor Monterey Care Center. It's well run. The staff is wonderful and thoughtful. The food's pretty bland for him, but he definitely gets enough, and the quantity there's always more, which is good. He does receive therapy, and we noticed an improvement. He's been able to gain weight, which was an issue before, and his mobility is increasing. So, I think it's good. I think his room is very small. He shares a room, but it's clean. I have not seen an issue with that. They do have an exercise area, they have a gathering area, which is the dining hall. They have a big screen TV in there. They have activities throughout the week for the residents, and he does participate in about 15 to 20 percent of those activities. I would recommend it."

"We visited here a few days ago. My first impression was very good. I liked it and the style. We looked at the unit and liked it very much. It had everything and was equipped with the necessities for comfortable living. It was very interesting. "

"My mother was admitted to The Ridge February 8, 2015. She was transferred there to recuperate and to recover from a brain surgery that was due on a fall on her head. Also, she has wounds and ulcer on her heels that need ongoing medical care. She also requires regular physical or occupational therapy. Her P/T, Josielyn, is really helping her out to walk again. Her CNA, Anna Saenz (7a.m. to 3 p.m. shift),help with tasks of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting. The Ridge provides round-the-clock medical supervision and 24-hour staffing by licensed or registered nurses. I have met L. Bey, nurse practitioner, and she explained all the medical care that is being administered to my mother. All the R.N.s and C.N.A.s and the rest of the staffs are very accommodating, professional, and very friendly. The Ridge is "spic and span", very clean. My sister and I visit my mother everyday for at least 3 hours. "

"My father has moved into Windsor Skyline Care Center. The care is very good, and there is plenty of help throughout. Everybody helps everybody there. He likes the food; it's very good. The rooms are small: 2-bed, 2-room. Visiting hours are really flexible. Masks are to be worn when visiting the room at this time. I find it to be very clean, and they were very respectful to the residents. The staff is very good. They answer all my questions. If they don't have the answer, they tend to go find it or send me to somewhere where I can get it. I did see on a board, there was an activity thing. I saw things like bingo and a walk that was going to be done either today or tomorrow. There was movie night, and there was a meet and greet time on the calendar. I did see a place that has a library. Other than the rehab facility, I really didn't see a lot. I did see what they called a meeting place. It was like a lunchroom/activity room. My father doesn't have a problem eating the food. I think it's very good value for money."

"My dad moved into assisted living at Canterbury Woods - Pacific Grove. It looks very nice. He knows several people who currently live there and he's able to work out a deal where his current home health aide can continue to be his aide there. The dining staff and director were very helpful and nice to work with. The food looks fine. There seemed to be quite a few activities, like lectures and discussion groups. My dad has struggled a couple of times recovering from pneumonia and they have on-site skilled nursing so he can move from his apartment into that long enough to recover and back to his apartment without going into a different facility. They have a large facility where they do exercises and lectures."

"Valley Convalescent is a clean and airy facility with staff that really care. My visits eventually led me to see much of the building, including the basement and I was pleased with the organization and particularly the way the place is kept up. For me, the location is perfect in Watsonville. My experience with the management and the Director of Nursing Services is that they are attentive and really wish for the people who stay there to be well taken care of in every way. I have been there many times and I would not hesitate to recommend Valley Convalescent. "

"My dad is staying in Watsonville Post Acute for long-term care, and it's close to where we live. They are helping him with rehab because he can't walk. They feed him, clothe him, and bathe him. They get him in some physical therapy and stuff like that. There have been a couple of incidents of him falling, considering he can't get up and walk, and that's a concern, but it happens everywhere, so they were aware of it. The facility is clean. It doesn't stink when you go there, like urine or some places smell. It's very active and busy. They're always cleaning and changing stuff. My dad's bed is always made and always neat and clean, and he's always clean. The food is like any hospital food. It's bland. They've got some decent programs. They're all too expensive, but that's how it is."

"My father is in a skilled nursing facility -- Mabie Southside -- and they are excellent. It is on Hazel Hawkins campus and is part of the Hazel Hawkins Hospital. The facility is very clean and very accommodating of the residents. The staff is very competent and skilled, and they are very family oriented. "

"Best home in the county. Nice rooms. Clean. Patients are well cared for, they have a beautiful garden and a charming little snack shop. Physical therapy was great. "

"My mother-in-law is at Pacific Coast Manor. The facility is very small and clean. Everybody is very friendly there. My mother-in-law is eating everything. She hasn't complained at all about the food, and she's a picky person. The rooms were small. My mother-in-law's insurance company is paying for it. She has been getting really good care."

"My mom is at Hearts and Hands Post Acute Care and Rehab Center. I think this is her third week. It's very clean, and the people are very professional. They're very good on probably everything. Communication is great. They're very attentive, very knowledgeable, and professional. The rehab is going well. The staff are very, very good. My mom was in a shared room and then she was on antibiotics, so they had to move her into an isolated room. The activities are a bit limited. It's not like a big open facility; it's a lot about rehab. But they have reading, they have puzzles, they have get-together rooms, and they have TVs. There's a whole separate facility for the rehab and I haven't been back there, but it's working for my mom. She is up and about, so physical therapy is doing pretty well."
