I visited Casa Aldea at Carlsbad and I liked it a lot, but they have a long waiting list. I don't want meals and I don't want extras. They had activities, and they didn't have meals, so that was a plus. There's a 2-bedroom available now that I'm considering. I was very impressed with the place and I thought it looked very nice from what I saw. I saw their facilities and they did have at that time an empty 1-bedroom, which seemed very nice. It's about 650 square feet, which is OK. The layout of the apartment was fine, but the size is small. It had a private balcony off your living room, which is very nice. I only met the lady who gave us the tour and she was very helpful. They had a gym, a lot of art, and they had all kinds of classes which I thought was good. They had a nice theater. The living room area for the general public seemed very comfortable and very nice. I guess they must have a kitchen area because sometimes they have activities where the residents have a Mexican dinner and special occasions, but generally speaking, food is not included. The common areas looked very attractive. The outside is very nice looking.
