"I'm leaning towards here. I like that one. But I'm waiting to see if they're going to let my mom on Medicaid because right now, we can't do private pay because we just don't have the money to do it. The staff members were excellent. They were nice. They try to meet all my needs. I like that they have so many options from my mom to do like the Bible study, the beauty shop, and the cooking classes. I think my mom would love that because she can intermingle with the other residents. Right now, she doesn't intermingle with anybody other than her family, so I just felt that one was better for her. The staff was wonderful. She explained everything. She went to great depth to make sure that I understood what they provide for their residents. And the building was nice and clean. It didn't smell like a lot of them we went to tour."

"We went to the Providence Assisted Living of Searcy. One of the things we really liked about it was some of the apartments had their own little back porch. The rooms that we got to see had just been vacated, so they hadn't been cleaned yet. It was OK. The staff was very sweet, very helpful. We didn't fall in love with the place, and we should have gone when the rooms were ready to be viewed, because it was not very clean. They were good sized. They had a little gym area and a beauty shop. It's just one level. It does not have a balcony, just a little patio where you can put some tables and plants."

"We toured Pinnacle Place Memory Care, and it was excellent. It was clean, everybody was nice, and they had nice rooms. I would live there myself, and I would be happy. The staff members were excellent. They answered any questions we had and knew who to ask if they didn't know the answer, so we're quite pleased. For the meals, the residents had a menu where they could choose what they wanted for the day. I think that was nice, too."

"Brookdale Conway Arkansas had everything that my mother's needing to go day-by-day, and assistance in just about everything. I liked that they got nursing on-staff, and they've got a therapy room that she can do therapy in. All in all, it really fit the needs that my mother needed to have. The staff was one of the things that I really liked. Everybody was very helpful. They made you feel at home and they made you feel like you were important, and they conveyed that to my mother, which my mother really liked. We looked at two different rooms, and that's one of the decisions she's trying to make now. One room was a one-bedroom, and then the second room that we looked at was a studio-style apartment. We had lunch there and we had a full meal with dessert, and I had tea. This particular day they were serving spaghetti and meatballs, and it was really a good little meal. It had bread on the side and also green beans. They had a meeting room where they had church services. They also had games and stuff that they played in there. They did an excellent job."

"We visited Parkway Village and toured for independent living for my parents. They are on their waiting list. We liked it because they have all levels of living. They have big homes, about 2,500 square feet, with garages. They also have villas that have a one-car carport, a place big enough for a golf cart, and a car. My parents like that they would have the independence of having a bigger home and not feel like they have to downsize so much. They would still have a nice place to live, and they can go in and do upgrades to the place, so it kind of feels like you can customize your home there. There is also a security guard as you come onto the property, so nobody can just come onto the property without being checked in by a security guard. There are different levels of care there, so if my parents ever need to have assisted living, they can go to an apartment-type thing. If they ever need any memory care, there's an Alzheimer's place there, too. They have every level of care that my parents can have as they're needed, but they can start in their own home and just have that freedom and independent living that they're used to right now. There's medical care on the premises, too, so they wouldn't have to go to a doctor if they got sick. If they had to walk up with a cold, for instance, there's somebody on the premises for that. They have shuttles to the local grocery stores. They also have bank days, and if you need to go sometime during the week, you can also just call somebody and they'll come take you to the bank. They have a community garden for those who like to garden, where everybody can plant stuff and grow their own food. The day we were there, there was a concert in the middle of the day that my dad loved, so they could have entertainment there. A lot of people were driving their little golf carts around, and my dad kind of liked that community feel. They could go visit their friends who live there and not have to get a car out if they didn't want to walk. They could just take a golf cart. The staff could also come pick you up at your house to take you to dinner, if you don't feel like driving. Those were kind of the selling points, plus the place is also close to ours and my sister's house."

"We toured Ridgemere today and what an absolutely beautiful facility! We met with Brandy who has the kindest heart, was through and went above and beyond to make sure we had all the information we needed. As we were on our tour all the staff and residents that we passed stopped and talked with us. They were all so friendly. The facility is clean, well maintained and it smelled amazing. We are looking for my mother and we will be back with her so she can tour. I cant think of any other place I would want my mom to live."

"I toured Brookdale Chenal Heights. It was just a classier place. It's kind of like comparing it to a cardboard house and a solid wood house. The furnishings were just updated, and the fixtures and the overall look of the place just had a more classy look to it versus a nursing home look. The food is excellent."

"I visited The Summit at Chenal Valley's independent living and loved it. I thought it was wonderful. The upkeep is extremely good, and the staff was wonderful. The food wasn't gourmet, but it was good."

"I'm now at Fox Ridge Chenal. I think it is the best one. I have a small, 1-bedroom apartment. The staff is good, but it is expensive. Overall, the experience has been good."

"I toured Chenal Pines Retirement. It was a nice place, and I had a meal there too. The rooms were nice. It was very cheery. When I walked in, everybody wanted to know who I was. There's a courtyard and grassy areas, a little courtyard with benches, and an outdoor space. The person who took me around was great. I would have chosen that place, but they didn't have a bathtub, and the apartment was not as spacious as the other facilities. The food was good. They even had a little area where you could get ice cream 24 hours a day. The building was very clean, but the apartment was a little crowded. That's all negative about it - no bathtub, which was a dealbreaker."

"The facility was very clean and good staff that was generally very helpful and friendly. The elderly seemed to enjoy the stay there as the rooms were comfortable and easy to maneuver around in. There was a nice room for visitation and to watch t.v. or to hang out in with a few of the garden in the back. The facility had plenty of light flowing through the building to help with a positive mentality and not make you feel all cooped up. "

"Crestview Senior Living was beautiful. Everything was brand new. The facilities were clean. It was just stunning, and it was big. The staff was good. They were friendly and accommodating. It just didn't fit our mom's needs. They had a nice physical therapy room that was close to the front door. They had a beautiful dining room that had a huge fireplace in it, as well as a huge flat- screen television. The tables and chairs were brand new. It looked like you were walking into a top restaurant. They also had a bar separate for those who wanted wine or beer or soda after hours or whatever, and they had staff on hand to do that, that was extra, but it was available to all the residents. They had a very large theater with a big movie screen and the seats like in a movie theater would come down, you could put your Coke or your drink there, and they would show really good movies that they thought people would like to see or people could request a particular movie. They had a beautiful outdoor area that had a barbecue pit, and they would encourage family members of the resident to come and partake and grill and have other family members there. They had a little dog section that if the residents chose to bring their animal there, they could walk it out in this little park and it had like a little tube that the dog could run through and stuff, which I thought was pretty cool. They had nice outdoor seating and stuff like that. They had a room and they had a hairstylist there, so you didn't have to leave the premises to get your hair done."
