Heritage Oaks Assisted Living

During the daytime, we have a 1:6 ratio and at night the ratio is 1:12. We are willing to increase this ratio if the care needs increase as time goes on and our census changes to best care for our residents and team.

Our facility is 100% secured with a fence around the perimeter of the property. In addition to that, each of the exterior doors have alarms on them that notify the team when someone is exiting or entering.

The team goes through at least four hours of on-going training annually, ranging from training with diabetes to how to redirect a resident who has dementia. We believe in equipping our team to handle the variety of needs that come up in caring for our residents.

There are several indoor and outdoor areas. We currently have a therapy house dog. When it comes to accepting pets, we evaluate it on a case by case basis.

We work with Arizona Medical Transport who is able to transport and accompany to various locations when needed. The payment for this would be paid for by the resident.

As mentioned in the previous question, our activities are varied. Here are a list of many of them: Listening to a classical pianist playing the baby grand, guitar and tambourine sing along with Diana and friends, country and oldies guitar with Oran, art therapy and exercise with Diana, puzzles, card games, nature walks, chair and standing exercise classes with Tucson Corrective Therapy, hair and nails spa days with Denise, and holiday and birthday celebrations.

Just like anywhere else in life, the residents at Heritage Oaks have a wide variety of interests and preferences for activities. Ranging from playing music, to exercise classes, from art therapy to having a spa day, each of the residents gets energized by different things, so we at Heritage Oaks like to create a space where they can engage in and enjoy what they like. The ages also range, but probably averages at mid-70's to mid-80's. We have had residents as young as 63 and as old as 104 years old (though she danced like she was still 80!). Our residents, in general, share a bond with and concern for what is going on in the lives of each other, which has created a real sense of community. For those who do not like socializing as much, they come out for the three meals together with everyone, and then enjoy some solitude in their room. However each resident wants to spend their time and live, we are here to help them in that.

Our chef is a Tucson local who has had 16+ years of experience with a large variety of clients. He prepares three hot, specialized meals daily in his commercial kitchen and delivers them to Heritage Oaks to be served. He is able to accommodate special diets or make any changes to the menu with at 24-hour notice. That being said, the residents can expect high quality food with a variety of dishes, from burgers to salmon, with the ability for flexibility. Outside of that, the team provides snacks throughout the day at residents' requests.
