My mother is in Avista Tucson. They said she stopped yelling at people and she's eating better. Right now she's in assisted living level three. Everybody there is so polite and so helpful. I had some things I couldn't get together, they put them together for me. They go out of their way to help you with your parent. I like their attitude. There are so many activities for her to do if she ever leaves her room, but if she doesn't, they bring her meals. She's just happy, I guess, now because they said she's eating more when she was barely eating. After the first week, she stopped yelling at people who would come into her room because they checked on her every two hours. She could have her cat there, but she didn't think it was hers, so I had to take the cat back home. They have a little gambling area. They can play cards. They have a little slot machine. They have a little movie theater with big recliners you can sit in. They have their little restaurant or cafeteria where everybody can go to eat if they choose to. They had singers one day I was there with my mom when I brought her there. They have karaoke. They have all kinds of different things and they're always trying to get you involved. Even though you don't want to go, they still come and ask to see if you want to. They encourage you to get out and be more social. If you want to go outside, you can go outside. Other people I've seen go outside. She has a studio apartment. They pretty much have the freedom to do what they want. Memory care has a locked door because people forget, but they still come out and do the activities. They get them together as a group, take them out, and let them be involved in the activities. She is eating more and she's very picky. I've seen the food and it looks nice. The first day she got there, they brought her a plate and I said she loves ham sandwiches, so they gave her a ham sandwich. They had a Boston cream pie. She ate it because she loves Boston cream pie and it's been ages since she's had one and they said, "OK, if we ever have Boston cream pie, we'll make sure we get it on her plate so that she gets it for her meals." They're very accommodating. They're all very friendly and knowledgeable. It was reasonable for everything you were getting. It's not that big of a jump if she needs memory care. They have an onsite doctor. I've seen them making repairs. All the time somebody is working on stuff, so they keep that place up. They're working on the floor and that's important, you don't want people falling. I saw the residents running around. I saw the guys that were in charge. The guy in charge of all the maintenance people set up my mom's TV for us and got one of his guys to put her bookcase together for us.

I toured Avista Tucson. I liked the director. She was nice. The facility was nice, but I didn't like the layout as much and it seemed bigger. I didn't like how it was quite a bit bigger than the one that I selected, and I didn't feel like it had a great outdoor space.

I toured Avista Tucson. Our tour was good. The staff members were very nice and were very into the residents in taking care of them. And the residents all had good things to say about them. The rooms were clean, and they didn't have an odor. They were good size, too. What stood out was their friendliness and their care of the residents. They had a patio, and it was good. They had a barbecue there.

I toured Avista Tucson. I did like the memory care area because it was homey and comfortable. The memory care area had its own little courtyard so that patients could go outside without getting lost. Memory care has to be contained, and it was good. They have a dining area and a television area. The staff has a positive spirit, someone I could talk to easily, and very helpful.

I toured Avista Senior Living Memory Care. They're one of the very few communities that would have a studio apartment that Arizona long-term care helps to pay for. The facility is clean. They have a lot of amenities. The people are friendly. They have lots of activities. They've got a beauty salon. They got a spa room. They've got a billiard room. They've got little movies set up. They have movies every day. They have a bunny as a mascot. They bring entertainment in. They bring ponies in for the people to play. They have bingo. They have cornholes. They've got gardening for those who like to garden. It's got everything. The staff is friendly and wonderful. The food is delicious. They have a chef. We had lunch there and it's not a boxed food.

It was a bigger place. I have an elderly friend who lives there and so I know they have a caring staff. I've seen them interact with her. When I take her out and bring her back, they hug her. So, I think they have a good, friendly staff. The rooms are nice. She has her own little studio apartment with a bathroom and they have a lot of activities. So, I was impressed with that. It's excellent. There are lots of common spaces that are very nice and some outdoor areas, too, that are nice.

I thought it would be a good mix for my friend. They had a lot of social engagements with their residents. They had better amenities, and the food was good. It was clean and orderly. The staff was very friendly. I met and talked to some of the residents there. They were very happy with the accommodations, the quality of life, and the social engagements that they were giving them. The staff were accommodating. The residents I spoke to spoke very highly of them. They were friendly and attended to not only the couple of needs that I had but of all of their residents. The food portions were extremely small. However, they were well-seasoned and didn't need any additional seasoning. It was a very good variety. They have a common room and a place where they showed movies that had movie-type theater seats. That was a little bit more luxurious. They had a small library, and they had quiet areas for people who just wanted to sit and be quiet. There was a very good mix there.

I toured here. I really, really liked the lady that was doing the tour. She was very knowledgeable and very empathetic. It was a large facility, so that's a little intimidating for my grandma specifically. But I liked the layout, and the way they had it staffed, so that was the reason that we were thinking about that one. The room they showed us was a studio. It had a little kitchenette and a bathroom. It was nice. My grandma doesn't need a lot of room, so that was exactly what we were looking for. They had a game room and a pool table, and different things. They had a lot of activities, which is another thing I liked about it. The staff who accommodated me was great, too.
