I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Horrible place. In 2022 Mom said the food was awful, no physical therapy but they lied and told me on the phone they were working with her every day. One particular night employee woukd make her wait a very long time to help her to the bathroom. One night she shoved Mom on the back, thank goodness she was close to the bed and fell on it instead of the floor. If she asked for help pulling the bedsheets up to cover her, that woman told her she could do it herself and left the room. I received weekly status reports, all saying good things about progress, but feel like they lied every time. Avoid at all costs!

Mission Palms of Mesa Health and Rehabilitation Center was pretty bad. Most of the staff were very rude and inattentive. They didn't come in and check on you or anything. It looked good from the outside, but the rooms were crowded, and you had to share a bathroom. It was dirty, too. The food was bad. I could barely eat them. You have to bring in food from outside. I think there was a room for activities. I remember walking by it, but I never saw anything going on in them.

Zero rating.

I can only offer my review for the rehab section on Mission Palms. I spent 20 days there and it was awful. The day medical staff is about 55% capable the night medical staff is less than 30% capable. The call button is somewhat useless, I waited up to over an hour for anyone to respond (thankful not an emergency). The meals, they give you a weekly menu that has no variety. Even after selecting they serve what they want and what you get is not very palatable. The P.T. and O.T. scheduled for 30 minutes leave a lot to be desired. I was fortunate to have two trainer that were capable, other I saw were ( in my opinion) useless. Any rating over one star is not deserved.

This is the worst facility you could bring your loved ones to. My Aunt was threatened by one of the nurses that she was going to call the cops and make it so she couldn't come see my grandmother. They told her they don't change diapers at lunch. They refused to take my grandmother the the bathroom told her to shit in her pants. To top it all off when we were putting my grandmother things away there was a back of poopy diapers that were not the ones we bought for my grandmother

they almost killed me, not kidding

I checked into mission palms on October 10, 2020. That night ii had a gushing bloody nose that would not stop no one would help, woke up on Oct 11th with a sore throat that no nurse would at. On oct 13th i woke u,p with a sudden bleeding all down my neck and chest. The doctor? Asked me if I should go to the hospital aren't they the experts, then she talked about hospice. Inappropriate. My neck started to swell on Oct 16th. On the night of Oct 17th I threw up all night, again no help. The next morning woke up and TOLD them I'm going back to the hospital. My throat was so bad by then I had to gI to banner university where they had ENTs within 48 hours I lost my airway, and was incubated and in I c u to a cost of over $100,000. Do not go here if you need care . Serious almost died. Don't put your loved ones here either

Do not let your family member suffer there. They are horrible! My father wasn’t taken care of, wasn’t bathed for 6-7 days at a time, bed sores from lazy nurses who didn’t want to change diapers! I feel so sorry for those in there getting worse because the doctor and nurses are lazy and incompetent!

One of the most important things to know about this facility is the non-medical personnel working on the floors are far more compassionate than the medical personnel working on the floors. The medical director is a megalomaniac. If you want to use your own personal physicians, this is not the place to come. I would strongly suggest that people learn to use GrubHub or door dash prior to coming here. The food is beyond bad. The rooms on the oasis side or single bedrooms. Most insurance requires that you move from these rooms after a specified time. There are much more rooms that are two bedrooms. Getting a roommate is dicey at best. The one activity that is enjoyable to all is bingo. The director of activity is extremely capable at what she does.If you are looking for a great deal of amenities, this is not the place to find them.

Very poor care. Understaffed. Lack of communication between departments. Asked for help every day with no follow through from staff. My husband's surgeon readmitted him to hospital with dehydration and malnutrition from lack of care.

I visited this facility

Do not put anyone you love here. They are the most disorganized facility ever. The workers very obviously hate their jobs. Administrators do not return phone calls, they lose residents clothes. When I arrived last night his call button was on the ground behind his bed making it impossible to call for help. I have complained to my insurance and advised them to not contract with them anymore

My elderly Dad has been trying to get a refund of an overpayment he made to Mission Palms for three months now. Were told it was sent; it wasn’t. Admin there generally do not answer their phones or return messages; you just have to be lucky to catch them. Then next time you call they say that person no longer works there, so you have to start all over. It’s been a frustrating runaround for a 91 year old WWII vet who lost his wife of 71 years. Place is very clean; the occupational, speech and physical therapists we had were fantastic, but that does not make up for the very sketchy nurse assistants and horrible, rude and completely disorganized admin staff. We moved my very ill mom out of this place because the admin staff was so uncaring and just plain mean to us when my mom was in the last few weeks of her life. I would recommend you DO NOT take a loved one who has any kind of life-threatening condition (stroke, heart attack) to this facility unless you can stay there 24/7 with them. And good luck if you advance pay for long term care. Don’t know if we will ever get my poor father’s money back.

I did rehab 4 times in 2 years at Mission Palms because of my broken femur. Their rehab was absolutely tops. It’s a nursing home as well. The staff was excellent. I got acquainted with the person who ran the place. I think they had an excellent facility and help. However, the food was not the best, but not my type of food to start with also. I would surely recommend them to other seniors for rehab.
