My former husband has moved to Homebridge Assisted Living Home in Gilbert. It has six people living in a private home in a gated community. He was in the veterans' hospital, and they found us several spots, and he decided on this one. It's a brand-new place, so it's nice and new, and it's very clean. They have the food for him all the time, so he can eat when he wants to. There are only two helpers there all the time, and you can get a hold of them, which is a plus. They always answer their phones and are there to assist when he needs help. They have a gentleman staff member there who is an absolute sweetheart, and one other lady. They open up from 10:00 until 6:00 or 5:00, so you can go visit. The house is very locked up. Unfortunately, I'm not happy with the activities. They can turn the TV on, and that's where the residents go, and then maybe once a month they'll have somebody come out and play music for them. As far as having facilities for it, like they can't play bingo or color a picture or whatever. That isn't happening there, and that's one thing I wish they had something up. I don't know what I would do with him when I'm there. He always sat in front of the television because that's what he wanted to do, but other places have their people doing something all the time. They're not excelling at activities. When you have to pay $5,000 a month, I think that's awful. Actually, they lowered it now because my son was paying $6,000 a month before he was moved into a different room with a roommate. I'm not impressed with the charges, but that's just me. It's clean, but I think it's just overpriced.
