Assisted Living Communities in Janesville, WI

"Everything was very nice and comfortable in Bickford of Rockford. It made me feel very much at home. I saw a couple of apartments from a distance that were being cleaned, but I only saw one that was actually open for me to visit. I understand that they have more than what I saw, but the bedroom that I saw was quite small. I also brought home the unit package with me. They said the plans from the other apartments are in there, but I did not find them. I called and asked for them to send me more, but I have not received them yet. The location of the facility is good. They're close to everything, like shopping, church, doctors, and so forth. The facility was very clean, and the residents seemed very friendly. I talked to a few of them as I went through, and they seemed very neighborly. The staff was very knowledgeable of the place and very helpful, too. They said they have two chefs in there. They cook new things all the time, and you have a choice of what you're going to eat; they didn't have a strict menu. Overall, the facility seemed very nice and clean, and people seemed very happy over there."

"I visited this facility and I was initially impressed by the smell and the appearance. There is a courtyard in the center which provides a lot of natural light throughout the many living areas they have inside. After talking with a number of the staff, my initial feeling is that they truly care about their residents. "

"I visited Our House Senior Living. It was a very nice place, very friendly, and it seemed like a very nice tour. It was very homey, they had an activity board, and they bring people to do things. They were very friendly, they were definitely interested in what they were doing, and they were not just there for the job. They do not provide rides, and I was a little concerned that it smelled like urine. We visited one room and you could smell the urine in the carpet."

"We liked the ranch style home look of the Guardian Angel Assisted Living facility. We stopped in to see it while in the area looking at possible new homes for our uncle. The lawn looked well-maintained and we could see the trees, shrubs and ample space for residents to enjoy and also a great place for parties and cookouts. The tree-lined pathways looked easy to navigate. The building's decor was homey throughout, with plenty of fresh air and light. The staff and residents seemed to have a good sense of humor, which was very good to see. The communal rooms included a comfortable library and the ability to participate in a number of stimulating activities. The living spaces were nicely designed with calming and peaceful decors so that there was plenty of room for belongings. The exercise room had nice equipment and they also encourage participation in a variety of exercise classes. Residents can also safely take walks along the lovely garden pathways. The dining room was nicely decorated, with plenty of space. The food looked and smelled delicious - as did the snacks which are available anytime. The menus had healthy but still interesting food options for all diets. They have many in-house activities planned, from outdoor nature walks, arts and crafts, to book readings and discussions. The seniors are also taken to many interesting cultural events such as art and music gatherings regularly in Janesville and the surrounding communities. The staff was very kind and caring and handled a variety of ambulation efficiently and with patience. We could see that every senior really enjoyed living in this homey environment. "

"My mom moved about six weeks ago at Huntington Place and we've been very pleased with the condition of the facility and the people working there as well as the executive staff. They have been very informative and they got us back in a timely manner when we have questions and concerns. We are very pleased with the facility. It's very nice and the food is good. "

"My mother was in Cedar Crest for several years. She was in the nursing home part. It was right down the road from where she used to live and it was a very nice home. It was all positive and it was very clean. She had good care, lots of activities and they were very nice to her. The staff was very good. She had a 1-bedroom. There was always something going on, bingo, games and just all sorts of things. "

"My mother, Lena was a resident at Heartwarming House LLC. The assisted living facility owners and staff did an excellent job in caring for my mother. She lived to be 100, due in part, I am sure, to the quality care she received such as medical needs, nutrition and personal hygiene. "

"Milton Senior Living was friendly, clean, and nice, but it was spread out pretty far. I only met one staff, and she was very nice, friendly, and very knowledgeable. She had a lot of information. The place looked very nice, but the halls were narrow. The apartments themselves were beautiful, but they're a long way away from the amenities. We were looking at it because my sister used to live in Madison and the families lives in Janesville, so it was kind of in between for her friends in Madison and for the family in Janesville. The rooms were a nice size. They were set up very nice with plenty of space and nice, big bathrooms. They had some nice outdoor seating. At the time we were there, there was bingo going on in the activity center, and that's really all that we saw as far as amenities go."

"We toured Riverside Terrace. I liked best that they were associated with Beloit Hospital System, and they had access to the hospital resources, including facilities. I was quite impressed by the beautiful collaboration that's going on there. I was also very pleased with the staff. She in fact called me up just recently and asked what's going on. She was really good and knowledgeable. The building was also clean and well laid out. There's nothing wrong with the facility; I thought it was good. The atmosphere was fine, but we didn't see as many people in the hall, so it's maybe just a little quieter. They have multiple sizes of rooms. The layouts were also good."

"We chose Willowick - Beloit Campus for my father-in-law, but I don't really recommend this place. They just don't have enough people, and I don't think they have the experience that they need to take care of people in memory care. There are only three staff members dealing with about 20 residents. They're also kind of lazy. They just let everybody do whatever they want to do. There are residents who go and wander from room to room. The rooms are really nice, and they do all kinds of activities, which is great. The place is brand new and they clean it. It's just the interaction with the residents I find kind of poor."

"Sun Valley Homes North assisted living facility was on our list while in the region looking at facilities for our uncle. We liked the quaint exterior, which appeared very well maintained and resembled a large, ranch style home. The grounds were nicely landscaped, with tranquil tree-lined walkways and seating areas. We felt comfortable and could see that the residents did to, as we walked around. There were rooms for many activities, like quiet reading, card games, exercise, parties, private visitations and and hosted meetings. The residents are encouraged to exercise daily in the fitness center on the equipment, with exercise classes, or walking outside pathways. The living spaces were beautifully decorated with lots of fresh air and light. All rooms were well designed, efficient and clean. The dining room was nice, with plenty of space. The menus had healthy food options for all diets. The food smelled and looked appetizing. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them. The seniors are taken on nature walks and many outside excursions, such as cultural events in the Beloit and surrounding areas. This is a facility that seems less like a facility and more like a nice home. The seniors looked very well attended and content. "

"My sister and I have visited this facility and have decided it will be the place where my aunt will live. It is very welcoming and homey. The staff is very helpful and accommodating as well. I have heard fantastic reviews about the food from the staff who eat there for both the residents and visitors who wish to dine their. The facility is very clean and well maintained. The administrator was very forthcoming regarding the costs, what is included and what the family/resident is responsible for providing. We think our aunt will be provided with excellent healthcare assistance as well as personal and social opportunities to enhance her life. My sister and I both work in the healthcare industry dealing with patients of all types so we feel comfortable and confident placing our aunt in the hands of these caregivers. I will update my review as time goes on as our aunt has spent more time at this facility."

"I toured Sun Valley East, and the room they had was very small. The bathroom was across the complex. They only provided a continental breakfast. If you wanted lunch and dinner, that had to be extra. There was only one staff member on duty when we went to view. I don't know if there were other staff members. It was a nice, clean place. It was just that the exterior construction was already peeling, but not so much on the interior."

"Beloit Senior Living is absolutely fabulous. The rest of the family is more than happy with everything they're doing there. My father is there and he's very happy. The staff is fantastic and makes him feel so welcome. He adjusted much faster there than any other place I know. We have visited other facilities and without a doubt, that is the best possible fit for him. He said he gets great meals, and it's not hospital food. They just don't have as many activities as he would like to see. I want to move in there myself. I highly recommend the place. They have a courtyard where people can go outside."
