"We chose the Grand Victorian of Rockford for our mom. It is very nice. The people are very nice, and it is clean. So far, the staff has been absolutely wonderful. She has a studio room. There is room for a bed and chairs. We have all our home stuff there, so it makes it feel like home. The food looks wonderful, and my mom likes the food. They have parties in the courtyard. They have therapy dogs come in. There is bingo, and they had caramel apples in the courtyard. There is something going on every day. If she wants to do it she can; if she doesn't, she doesn't have to."

"Peterson Meadows is just independent living, but it's affiliated with a much larger continuing care community. It's just a comfortable and pleasant place to live. Everything is just so easy for the residents and the staff members are excellent. They're polite, helpful, well-informed and well-trained, and they go out of their way to make this place a pleasant place for us. The food is also excellent and they have a number of activities like card games, other games, line dancing, and so on if people are interested. The layout and cleanliness of the place is very good, and we have everything we need in terms of activities. This is probably the lowest-priced independent living community in the area, so in my opinion it's the best."

"We have visited Fairhaven many times as we had a close friend there in an apartment that we looked after. We have several other friends who have lived there. They all say how much they enjoy the people, food and staff. When a person moves in, the carpets have been changed or cleaned and the room painted. I have never heard anything negative about it. We have had two people in the health center with Alzheimers, and they seem to be well taken care of and are always kept clean. That's the best place to go if you have the money. But they don't take Medicare."

"My mother is living at Wesley Willows. It is a wonderful facility which includes housing for all aging people. They have houses or cottages as they call them which are totally independent living facilities. They are beautiful! Also, there are two separate buildings...one assisted living and one that is more independent. In the assisted living building where my mother lives, they offer three meals per day. Also included are different levels of care which gives the resident security knowing they will be cared for no matter what. Wesley Willows also has an Alzheimer's unit and a rehabilitation unit for those who may have just returned from the hospital needing special temporary care. Wesley Willows has numerous activities for their residents. The only thing my mother wishes was that there was more to do during the day. All in all, an excellent place to be. "

"Oak crest is luxurious and upper scale than the other place I visited. The food is good and they have activities for the residents. "

"We've chosen Pinecrest Manor for my father and he will be in the memory care/Alzheimer's unit. I have talked to a lot of people in the community, and I've never heard anything bad about it. For a small town, they provide a lot of services for seniors. The staff was very caring, very easy to talk to, and very accommodating. We're just in the beginning stages, so we haven't talked to a lot of people. It's very easy to get to. It's kind of on the edge of town, so it's a nice location. I have been in to visit other people who were in rehab, but as far as I can tell, things are kept up very nicely and the grounds are very nice. The only thing we've been involved in is the Alzheimer's support group, and we've been very happy with it."
