We liked the ranch style home look of the Guardian Angel Assisted Living facility. We stopped in to see it while in the area looking at possible new homes for our uncle. The lawn looked well-maintained and we could see the trees, shrubs and ample space for residents to enjoy and also a great place for parties and cookouts. The tree-lined pathways looked easy to navigate. The building's decor was homey throughout, with plenty of fresh air and light. The staff and residents seemed to have a good sense of humor, which was very good to see. The communal rooms included a comfortable library and the ability to participate in a number of stimulating activities. The living spaces were nicely designed with calming and peaceful decors so that there was plenty of room for belongings. The exercise room had nice equipment and they also encourage participation in a variety of exercise classes. Residents can also safely take walks along the lovely garden pathways. The dining room was nicely decorated, with plenty of space. The food looked and smelled delicious - as did the snacks which are available anytime. The menus had healthy but still interesting food options for all diets. They have many in-house activities planned, from outdoor nature walks, arts and crafts, to book readings and discussions. The seniors are also taken to many interesting cultural events such as art and music gatherings regularly in Janesville and the surrounding communities. The staff was very kind and caring and handled a variety of ambulation efficiently and with patience. We could see that every senior really enjoyed living in this homey environment.
