Sunset Ridge Jefferson was a very nice facility. I couldn't say enough things about it. It seemed like it would just be perfect for my parents and it's 5 minutes from where I live. We could hear happy voices from the residents and they were playing cards while we were there. The front room felt like a hotel lobby. It was just very, very nice, clean, and cozy. It was adjacent to a golf course so it's got a scenic view. It seemed very ideal. They had medical staff always on hand. One nurse would always be available. The very nice lady that gave us the tour lives nearby and said she, too, was always on site. They were all cordial and very friendly. They had a TV room with a dozen reclining chairs so that everybody would be able to sit and watch a movie without having to jostle for it. They seemed to have a very nice modern kitchen.

Our tour experience at Sunset Ridge Jefferson was very good. It's a very nice place. They're right off the golf course, so they have a nice outside area. They have three different sizes of rooms, and they seem a little bit more generous than some of the other ones I looked at. It's just a little pricier than the other ones, too. I got to meet quite a few staff there; the cook, the activities director, the manager, and a couple of nurses. The place was very updated and just very clean. They had a euchre tournament going on when we were there. Some people were out doing puzzles while others were sitting out on the patio just visiting. Then in the living room, there was a group of people that likes crime show TVs, and there were like four or five of them watching the show together and conversing about it. I had my stepmom there before and I felt that they took very good care of her as well. She wasn't there really long, but I saw how well she was taken care of.

Sunset Ridge Jefferson was outstanding. It was very welcoming and very clean. There was a housekeeper there. The staff was very welcoming and very forth giving with the information. They showed us the activity room. They said they had an activities director. They were already decorated for Valentine's Day, and there were a couple of people in there already. They had a beauty parlor, and that was included in the price. I was impressed with that. They gave us a very nice tour. They showed us an available room. The room was very nice, although they didn't offer a small refrigerator in the room. I found the facility very appealing from the outside and the inside.

We chose Sunset Ridge Jefferson for my mom. They did a very nice job. She felt welcome, she was acclimated quickly to the routine and met lots of people there. They had lots of activities. She felt that people responded to her call light when needed and the food was OK, not fabulous, but it was OK. She wasn't starving. The administrator was very helpful in getting everything taken care of so that she could go there. She had a studio. She had a place for her bed and she had a bathroom with a handicapped shower and raised sink and raised toilet seats. They just had lots of different activities, they had exercised in the morning, they would do things like bingo and play Yahtzee, and just lots of different activities to keep them busy. I have to give a thumbs up to the activity director. She does a wonderful job. It is well laid out, it's very clean, it's well kept, people are very friendly there, both the staff and the residents. If she needed to go back into assisted living, that would be a place we would consider first. They do have a courtyard off of their main TV activity type room, and they have a large dining area where they have their meals. Then they have another even larger area that has lots of seating. It had some birds that were in a big glass cage that the residents could watch. They also have a big screen TV that's on the wall. And most of the rooms had a big screen TV and a fireplace that they could sit by if they wanted to. They also did laundry individually. Each person had a day that they had their laundry done and then it was brought back to their room. So it was very helpful that we did not have to bring her laundry home and worry that she was going to lose her clothes.
