Sun Valley Homes North was of a much higher standard. Plus, their room had an attached bath. It's just the community room/dining room had card tables and folding chairs. I have balance issues and in order for me to get up off of the chair, I would have taken the table with me because it was not sturdy enough for me to pull myself up off the chair with. The dining room itself was large enough though, so there was a capacity for all the residents. There was plenty of staff and the residents were of a higher caliber. It was also clean, but I still was not impressed with the facility.

Sun Valley Homes North assisted living facility was on our list while in the region looking at facilities for our uncle. We liked the quaint exterior, which appeared very well maintained and resembled a large, ranch style home. The grounds were nicely landscaped, with tranquil tree-lined walkways and seating areas. We felt comfortable and could see that the residents did to, as we walked around. There were rooms for many activities, like quiet reading, card games, exercise, parties, private visitations and and hosted meetings. The residents are encouraged to exercise daily in the fitness center on the equipment, with exercise classes, or walking outside pathways. The living spaces were beautifully decorated with lots of fresh air and light. All rooms were well designed, efficient and clean. The dining room was nice, with plenty of space. The menus had healthy food options for all diets. The food smelled and looked appetizing. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them. The seniors are taken on nature walks and many outside excursions, such as cultural events in the Beloit and surrounding areas. This is a facility that seems less like a facility and more like a nice home. The seniors looked very well attended and content.
