I toured Canterbury Manor. It was a little more cost-effective. It was very, very nice and the people were extremely friendly. The living apartments were smaller, but it's a little more budget-friendly. That was our second choice and may still be an option later on if things get tight. With all the community activities and the friendliness of the place, you could tell it's genuine when the residents are interacting with the staff in such a comfortable, friendly way.

I was impressed with everything about Canterbury Manor, except for the food that they were serving. I didn't think the food was appropriate for seniors. The staff members seemed quite competent except for the cooking. They seemed friendly and helpful. The facilities were good.

When I was at Canterbury Manor, they were having a piano concert in the middle of the day and everybody was drinking wine, which was cool. The receptionist was nice and pleasant. The place is clean. I have an extremely sensitive nose and I did not detect any odors at all.

We visited Canterbury Manor and we loved what we saw. We thought that my father-in-law would've done well there. They provided a lot of activities for the senior citizens and it's a good all around atmosphere. The staff gave us at least two tours and I had three tours of the place. They were always very welcoming to us and talked to us on the phone whenever we called. The staff member that I dealt with was very nice. The cleanliness was a five.

Canterbury Manor is a good place. I know all of the residents like it. It feels like a family and very neighbourly community. They have a gathering room, a separate coffee room, and an exercise room with good equipment and regular classes there. They have a dining room with fairly good food most of the time. They have a bus that takes the residents on shopping excursions and a van for taking just one or two people to medical appointments.
