"I have a friend whom I have visited quite frequently in the three years she has lived here. I have always been impressed with how the CNA's and nurses work together in the tougher times when staffing issues happen. No complaining...just doing! I am also impressed with how much the activities staff entertained the residents even during the worst of the lock-down. Now, with everything opening up, they are bringing in new activities every day! I would certainly bring my family member here to stay...My friend is very happy here!"

"They were really good at Stafford. They took good care of my wife. They were really friendly to her. It's a little more modern than the nursing home my wife is at right now. "

"My husband has been at Washington Veteran Home-retsil for a month. It's a full nursing home, but it doesn't have a nursing home feel. It's almost like assisted living. It's a large and beautiful place, fairly new, and it's very open and spacious. My husband has a semi-private room. There are three doctors and RNs all the time, and they're fully staffed. They have a lot of activities. The food is OK. Not very elegant, but it's food. It's very average."

"From what I remember, the staff was always caring and they had many programs for the residents to partake in. Although my aunt was mostly bed-bound, the staff did their best to let my aunt participate in many activities. I would even volunteer to play the piano for the residents which everyone enjoyed. When coming to this home, I always felt welcomed. It was definitely a nursing home feel but I never felt uncomfortable. Regarding the staff, everyone got to know me as a visitor and got to know my aunt even more so. They were very personable which I liked. I believe the home was not too small but not too big either where the nurses weren't too busy to take care of the patients needs. That is important as I heard some other nursing homes are too busy and the patients don't get the right attention they need. I believe this nursing home treated my aunt very well and got the best of care. Since this was so long ago, I don't remember too many facts about amenities and specifics. Thank you. "

"Vashon Community Care was a very well maintained and clean facility. The staff always seemed very pleasant and dedicated to the residents. They also had a program called "Break Time" that would occasionally (weekly?) take trips and actually leave the facility, which I thought was great. All the meals were made in the cafeteria and there were always at least two choices for a main course. My grandmother had her own small apartment on the 2nd floor and honestly it could have been any apartment. Maybe a little hospital like but overall I was very impressed and very happy with the way my grandmother was treated and how everyone was treated. I never witnessed an employee lose their cool or speak harshly to any resident. With all the horror stories you hear about nursing homes and abuse I never once worried that it was occurring or would ever occur. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in the difficult position of needing some help in taking care of their loved ones. "

"I have found Northwoods Lodge to be a quality facility. There retirement cottages are beautiful, the meals are fabulous, and the staff is always friendly. The quality of care is way above standard. They always manage to meet or exceed expectations in the skilled nursing facility both with the residents and the physical therapy they provide. They have earned their excellent reputation in the community rightfully. The only feedback I would have that is elss than excellent is when I toured the Assisted Living portion of their community it seemed just acceptable and I did not notice as much social activity, it was not sub-par, just average, which when compared to the retirement and skilled nursing is somewhat of a let down. "My grandfather has been at The Kenney for almost 4 years now, and, while my mother is the one who takes care of him, I visit fairly frequently. The facility has independent-living, assisted-living, and a nursing/rehab center. For the first couple years, my grandfather was in assisted-living and had a beautiful room with a large window and lots of natural light. After he fell and broke his hip he was moved to the nursing/rehab center, which is in a different part of the facility with much less natural light. His roommate is one of his friends he's known for years, and there are other relatives and friends living in the facility. The staff is very friendly and provide adequate care. There are plenty of activities and entertainment that he attends. Overall, I feel like The Kenney is a good facility, and I believe my grandfather is as happy as he could be in any comparable facility. Compared to a couple other assisted-living facilities I'm familiar with, though, I feel that the nursing/rehab center is not as open or bright, and feels more like a hospital than a living area. "

"I entered Penrose Harbor Aug.,24 after surgery. I stayed 5 weeks in skilled nursing. The facility was clean, and the staff was super. They provided the best care possible, encouraged me, provided therapy, both occupational and physical, throughout my stay. The weals were of good quality and after we reached stage 2 of the Covid-19 dashboard, I enjoyed the company of other patients in the dining room. The meals were exceptional both in quality of food and preparation. I would recommend this facility to anyone wanting professional care. They provide unlimited activities daily and you are encouraged to join in if you are physically able. "

Welcome to Avamere Rehabilitation at Park West! Avamere Rehabilitation at Park West is a 5 Star Rated Facility by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Park West is the premier skilled nursing facility in West Seattle, with two zero-deficiency surveys two years in a row! We provide compassionate and personal 24-hour skilled care and rehabilitation services in a comfortable and friendly environment. At Park West, caring is our main concern. We believe the most effective way to provide compassionate care is to maintain high medical integrity, build a team spirit among staff, and provide friendly, beautiful surroundings for our patients and their visitors. Although most transitions are not easy, we strive to facilitate that process with an environment where our patients and guests feel informed and comfortable. The care in our facility focuses on differing populations of individuals. Many individuals in our population are comprised of patients requiring several days or weeks of medical care and therapy before they can safely return home (or to a lower level of care). The remaining population is individuals who require long-term skilled nursing care (lasting weeks, months or even years) as they are unable to return home due to advanced age or illness. Most of these individuals will remain with us until they pass away. Based on each individuals needs, some patients receive rehabilitation (therapy) services to either restore or, where possible, improve to prior physical functioning. For the individual needing long-term skilled nursing care, the attending physician and facility staff will do what they can to assist the individual with the activities of daily living and mobility based on each individuals circumstance. It is important for you to understand, as a patient or a loved one of a patient, that advancing age brings with it the inevitable effects of aging that no medical care or treatment can change or cure. "Sea Mar has been a blessing in disguise. Although I am firmiliar with a number of facilities due to other family members needing temp & perm placement. I was under the impression that Sea Mar Care Center was a Spanish facility. This is not true. Although they were founded to support the latino community they are so much more than that. I only wish that when I was looking for placement for my mother & father years ago I would have known what a great place it is. I have never experienced a facility with such family type values. The staff is not only friendly, but knowledgable. The fact that they were able to care for my uncle's immediate needs (rehab) and then transfer him to their lesser level care facility (Cannon House)was great. My uncle is now seen by the same physician that he saw at the Care Center & if things continue the way they are my uncle may be able to go home soon with the help of their home care. Sea Mar bless you!!!"

"We chose to have my grandfather move into Martha and Mary after researching other nursing homes in our area (The Kitsap Peninsula). Eventually, we chose to move him to Martha and Mary because overall, they seemed like the best choice. Martha and Mary not only has an excellent staff to resident ratio on all wings of their building, but they also have a lot of extra activities within the facility, as well as activities scheduled within the community of Poulsbo. For example, my grandfather enjoyed creating flower bouquets with the on-site full time Horticultural Therapist. A local farmer who grew gigantic lovely dahlias would stop by once a week during the summer and drop off buckets of these flowers for the residents at the facility to enjoy. This is just one small example of the extras that Martha and Mary offer. Nothing stood out as terrible at Martha and Mary. The staff was friendly and attentive to my grandfather. I recommend this facility if you have to consider one. "

"Visiting this facility is a pleasure which begins with the free valet parking under the downtown Seattle building. Of course, it is not free forever but the first hour is. My resident friend has been staying in the assisted living unit of the facility for several months after she had some medical issues and subsequently needed assistance with self care and safety. The nursing staff is fabulous and provides excellent timely care in a professional and friendly manner. The head nurse has always had answers to our questions and has been able to get us any adaptive equipment we needed quickly. "

"We looked at Skyline Health Services' independent and assisted because they're not sure what we're gonna do. They eventually said we would have to be in assisted living in order for our long-term care policy to work, and that put us into a hazy category. So, we wouldn't have access to all of the services that an independent living person would have access to. I like the people. I like that it's very new and fresh. It's beautifully maintained and all the residents that we've met there on the various visits that we've made were easy to chat with. It's a good location, and the physical plan seemed nice and good. The services seemed good and the staff seemed to be flexible in creating a care plan. The facility was top of the line with the exception of not having a swimming pool on-site. However, they have an arrangement down the street with an athletic club, so you can go down and use the pool there."

"My mother is in Manor Care. The staff is very nice and right there for whatever you need, so they’re very responsive. The rooms are not really big, but they’re nice. They have a lot of day rooms and a lot of activities to keep them pretty busy. They have bingo, music, happy hour, and different kinds of games. "
