"The grounds at Caroline Kline Galland Home look beautiful, the staff has been very good working with my dad, and they're trying to get him so he can be a little more independent. I'm really happy with them. He was in quarantine when he got there; they're working very hard to get everybody safe. He said that the food seemed to be fine, it's kosher, though he's not Jewish. But they will allow you to bring in food from outside, so we've brought him food a couple of times now. Some of the issue is just with the communication, and trying to manage everything during the pandemic. The staff I've dealt with have been great, they've been very helpful, and seemed to be very concerned. They're trying to make sure that my dad's being taken care of. From what I've seen, the place looks really clean."

"My mother stayed at the Caroline Kline Galland Home in a transitional care unit, so it was a little different than the regular nursing home for long-term care. It was skilled nursing, so they took fine care of her. They had plenty of activities there. I had a mother-in-law who stayed there for eight years in the memory care unit. It is a perfectly good nursing home. They offer all kinds of activities like games, entertainment, and sing-alongs. The food was fine. It’s kosher food because it is a Jewish home. "

"I visited this facility and spent about a week meeting the staff and visiting with residents. The nursing assistants (who provide care directly to the residents) are all very hard working, and they seem to have a personal attachment to many of their residents. They meet daily to discuss changes in each resident's condition, so they are all aware of any new needs or concerns. The residents seemed to especially enjoy mealtimes when they were almost all able to sit together (and the food looked appealing). "

"I found the facility to be alright. Funishings and decor were sparse and dated, they felt a little old and dingy. It was often difficult to find people who were working and many were not friendly or helpful. I think that the rooms needed to be freshened up, the paint and fixures needed updating. the workers didn't seem to be that friendly with my relative who was staying there. they were a little rough when dealing with her. maybe they are overworked and underpaid? the atmosphere seemed sad i believe that more could be done to improve the quality of life for the residents. "Sea Mar has been a blessing in disguise. Although I am firmiliar with a number of facilities due to other family members needing temp & perm placement. I was under the impression that Sea Mar Care Center was a Spanish facility. This is not true. Although they were founded to support the latino community they are so much more than that. I only wish that when I was looking for placement for my mother & father years ago I would have known what a great place it is. I have never experienced a facility with such family type values. The staff is not only friendly, but knowledgable. The fact that they were able to care for my uncle's immediate needs (rehab) and then transfer him to their lesser level care facility (Cannon House)was great. My uncle is now seen by the same physician that he saw at the Care Center & if things continue the way they are my uncle may be able to go home soon with the help of their home care. Sea Mar bless you!!!"

"There are a lot of activities available to the elders, and the activity leaders are often optimistic, which adds a good vibe to the environment. Patients who are initially unwilling to join the activities are eager and enthusiastic by the end. Food selection is also quite good, and the chefs are very attentive to the dietary needs of each patient. Many services are provided, such as physical therapy, exercise circle, and occupational therapy. The staff are accommodating to the patient's and their visitors' needs: we would be given access to the kitchen and supplies (such as straws and liquid thickener) to make things easier. We were really relieved to put our family member in the care of this facility, and it also made caring for him easier. Socializing with the residents is encouraged, and because of this, we made a few friends among the other patients. The only reason why this facility receives a 4 instead of a 5 is because a few individual staff are sometimes unfriendly. "

"My mom is at Swedish Acute Rehabilitation Unit - Cherry Hill. She is in their intensive rehab. She had her stroke a week ago yesterday. She had just been in the hospital for a week, and they moved her to rehab on Wednesday. The room that she has is very pleasant, and she's on her own. They seem to be quite attentive. She's getting three hours of rehab a day, so I like that. I would give them a 5 just because the people there are concentrating on trying to repair them, so that's what I like. The three-hour-a-day seems helpful in her recovery process. The staff is very professional. They're very warm and friendly with her. They keep everything in shape and keep her going. Her speech was affected greatly, so she is in that frustrating stage when you're trying to get words out and not finding them, and so that's hard, but they work with her to understand what she wants. My mom does not like the food. She's a very picky eater. I sat with a nutritionist yesterday and we talked about things that would make her not feel good about eating because she is picky and grazes rather than sit down eat a whole meal. So, he helped me figure out how to request the food. They don't do social things. The activity is physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. That's what they're concentrating on. It does seem stimulating to her."

"Well I had a broken leg from riding a bike to work and I had a schedule with Swedish for a surgery. When I went in there, all the medical staffs were so nice. They provided great hospitality. They also promised that the surgery was no problem. It was, by the time I was done with my surgery. I decided to make this hospital my main "savior." They gave me an ending paper sayingChoosing a home health or hospice care program through Swedish Visiting Nurse Services means that expert medical care continues in your home. "Visiting this facility is a pleasure which begins with the free valet parking under the downtown Seattle building. Of course, it is not free forever but the first hour is. My resident friend has been staying in the assisted living unit of the facility for several months after she had some medical issues and subsequently needed assistance with self care and safety. The nursing staff is fabulous and provides excellent timely care in a professional and friendly manner. The head nurse has always had answers to our questions and has been able to get us any adaptive equipment we needed quickly. "

"My husband was in Park Shore for rehab for one month. It's a full care facility, from independent living to nursing community and rehabilitation. It was really good, and I'd like my husband to be there, but they didn't have any rooms. They had to take their clients first before they can take anyone from the outside, but they loved him and he loved them, too. Even though they managed to vaccinate everyone twice, they wouldn't let me in the front door. My husband came out of there fully vaccinated. He also had occupational and physical therapy. They helped him to a point where he could not even stand on his own to be able to walk in a cane."

"There was one person at The Kenney who was great and toured my daughter and me around. We had lunch there, and everything was fine. They gave me a list of the activities that they had every month. It's in a residential neighborhood, and I was looking for some walkability for other activities. They also wanted a big fee payment upfront. "

"My father received adequate care during his stay at Park West Care Center after he had a stroke although there were times when it took a long time for nursing staff to respond to his call light. They seem to be frequently understaffed, and this leads to patients being neglected when they are soiled and not always getting their medications in a timely fashion. The appearance of the facility is very clean, and they have a very spacious cafeteria with great food. The rehab team is excellent as they provided my father with both physical therapy and occupational therapy services. Physical therapy did a wonderful job in helping him to regain his ability to walk and balance. Occupational therapy really helped him to learn different adaptive techniques for dressing and bathing to help increase his independence with his daily activities. I would recommend this facility to other future patients based on our experience with the rehab department alone. "

Welcome to Avamere Rehabilitation at Park West! Avamere Rehabilitation at Park West is a 5 Star Rated Facility by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Park West is the premier skilled nursing facility in West Seattle, with two zero-deficiency surveys two years in a row! We provide compassionate and personal 24-hour skilled care and rehabilitation services in a comfortable and friendly environment. At Park West, caring is our main concern. We believe the most effective way to provide compassionate care is to maintain high medical integrity, build a team spirit among staff, and provide friendly, beautiful surroundings for our patients and their visitors. Although most transitions are not easy, we strive to facilitate that process with an environment where our patients and guests feel informed and comfortable. The care in our facility focuses on differing populations of individuals. Many individuals in our population are comprised of patients requiring several days or weeks of medical care and therapy before they can safely return home (or to a lower level of care). The remaining population is individuals who require long-term skilled nursing care (lasting weeks, months or even years) as they are unable to return home due to advanced age or illness. Most of these individuals will remain with us until they pass away. Based on each individuals needs, some patients receive rehabilitation (therapy) services to either restore or, where possible, improve to prior physical functioning. For the individual needing long-term skilled nursing care, the attending physician and facility staff will do what they can to assist the individual with the activities of daily living and mobility based on each individuals circumstance. It is important for you to understand, as a patient or a loved one of a patient, that advancing age brings with it the inevitable effects of aging that no medical care or treatment can change or cure. "My husband spent 21 days in Talbot Rehab. Now, he is much better. The food was fine, it was clean, it did not have a bad odor -- some of the patients maybe that had problems -- but it was nice, and I think they did a good job. I did have trouble with the social worker not communicating with me much, but maybe that was just their way of handling it. They seem to work behind the scenes and didn't have to work with me I guess. They had a big meeting, given him tests and everything, andtold him what is what, and he has been following all the medications, so he is better. Nice rooms with a view from the floor of trees and plants, and that was nice. They had activities, and the rehab itself seemed very beneficial. They had some games and crossword puzzles, which my husband participated in. I ate lunches and dinners with him many days, and the food was good. Sometimes the help was a little strange, but I think they have a hard time finding people who want to work in places where everyone is so debilitated, but all in all it was good. It was just that the people who were serving the meals maybe were a little fresh off the boat, so they didn't understand what we were talking about. But then, when their supervisor would come along, she was great. She was always there, so you could just go to her if you are having a problem. She was part of the servers, but she was definitely in charge of everything. They had their rules, and they made people stick to them, which were good, otherwise we would kind of upset the routine. They had table heights for people with wheelchair, so that they are up closer, and you have to allow the people who need those to sit there. I thought it was very well-run. Security seemed fine, but they could be a little more. They had a patio that had a gate, a fence, and everything, but the people could have easily gotten away, so people who cannot be trusted not to wander would not do as well there. I was most impressed by the friendliness of the nurses who were actually providing care and dispensing the medications. They were very nice and easy to get along with. I liked it, and I liked the location. It was kitty-corner from the hospital, so if anybody needed 911, they would be able to take them there quickly. It used to get a bad grade, but I think they've solved the problems because the food was good, it was clean and not depressing, and it was nice. "
