I had the experience of working the Sea Mar community center for 9 months. I specifically worked with the preschool that shares the space with this building. In that time, I was able to involve the preschool children in the lives of the men and women who lived in the assisted living center. It was a practice that had been going on for some time. It was a joy to see the children get to interact with caring adults, and the adults would also enjoy the presence of the little ones. The center itself is a clean, professional area that has the added benefit of being a bilingual community. Spanish and English speakers were welcome. The staff was always friendly and helpful, and there was a real sense of community in the center. The center is also the site of celebrations of local culture, and the many windows allow those who would prefer to stay indoors to see all around them, as the center resides at the top of a hill. The Sea Mar community health center is a lovely place for adults.

The staff here are so wonderful and caring. My mother-in-law is in stage 6 Alzheimer's and wanders, scared, and previously wanting to go home. Now this is her home. The staff treat her so well, as if she were their mother! Mostbfacilities (even ones I have worked in) smell horrible, but this one does not. We love the care and respect she receives here. Also, she may fight getting dressed and showered, but she is always clean and teeth brushed! We couldnt ask for a better facility! There are others much closer for us, but they cant come close to the care we have received from Seamar. Don't let the area of the facility bother you. It is very safe and secure. Two thumbs up!!! Thank you to the staff for taking such good care of our mom!

Sea Mar has been a blessing in disguise. Although I am firmiliar with a number of facilities due to other family members needing temp & perm placement. I was under the impression that Sea Mar Care Center was a Spanish facility. This is not true. Although they were founded to support the latino community they are so much more than that. I only wish that when I was looking for placement for my mother & father years ago I would have known what a great place it is. I have never experienced a facility with such family type values. The staff is not only friendly, but knowledgable. The fact that they were able to care for my uncle's immediate needs (rehab) and then transfer him to their lesser level care facility (Cannon House)was great. My uncle is now seen by the same physician that he saw at the Care Center & if things continue the way they are my uncle may be able to go home soon with the help of their home care. Sea Mar bless you!!!
