My mom is at Avamere Rehabilitation of Issaquah. We like the feel and energy of it. The people seem to be very caring. They don't ignore her, which is important. We had concerns like the TV not working, but the next day it was fixed. They pay attention to what you need. My mom has been a resident for two weeks now and is in a shared room. The interaction with the staff is excellent. So far, we are very happy with it.

My experience with this nursing home was deeply disappointing, and I would strongly caution others against placing a family member in this facility. One of the most serious issues was the lack of responsiveness from staff. During many of my visits, residents could be heard repeatedly requesting assistance through their call systems without anyone coming to help. This neglect directly contributed to my loved one falling when she attempted to get to the bathroom on her own after her requests for assistance went unanswered. She was subsequently transported to the hospital. While residing there, she also developed a pressure wound, indicating that staff failed to properly assist with repositioning and mobility needs. The facility also demonstrated extremely poor infection control practices. I observed aides entering and exiting rooms requiring contact precautions without using the appropriate protective gear, raising serious concerns about resident safety and sanitation. Operational failures and safety oversights were another major concern. A stool specimen was misplaced, which resulted in my loved one being unnecessarily kept on isolation precautions for an extended period. Despite informing the physical therapist on duty that I am a licensed physical therapist and requesting to assist with ambulation, other staff members were unaware and did not intervene. Allowing unidentified individuals to mobilize residents reflects a troubling lack of safety awareness. Additionally, after my loved one was hospitalized due to her fall, we were informed that the facility would charge $500 per night to reserve her bed until she was discharged. Based on these experiences, this facility demonstrated poor judgment, inadequate care, and a lack of accountability. I would not recommend entrusting the care of a loved one to this nursing home.

Don’t come stay here if you want control of your juices and canned soda pop. They’ve taken my personal fridge even though I don’t keep food in it. The staff is mostly good. The treatment, personally, is good. I love my room with a good view of what I call the garden path. I’ve been here 7 years. Food is okay, they give choices

My aunt was in Issaquah and we were not happy with the follow-through. The rehab workers did their best, but she didn't get anywhere with rehab. She was there for a hundred days that Medicare could pay for, and a few more days, but we got her out of there. The food wasn't good and it looked like they were economizing.
