My mom is at Swedish Acute Rehabilitation Unit - Cherry Hill. She is in their intensive rehab. She had her stroke a week ago yesterday. She had just been in the hospital for a week, and they moved her to rehab on Wednesday. The room that she has is very pleasant, and she's on her own. They seem to be quite attentive. She's getting three hours of rehab a day, so I like that. I would give them a 5 just because the people there are concentrating on trying to repair them, so that's what I like. The three-hour-a-day seems helpful in her recovery process. The staff is very professional. They're very warm and friendly with her. They keep everything in shape and keep her going. Her speech was affected greatly, so she is in that frustrating stage when you're trying to get words out and not finding them, and so that's hard, but they work with her to understand what she wants. My mom does not like the food. She's a very picky eater. I sat with a nutritionist yesterday and we talked about things that would make her not feel good about eating because she is picky and grazes rather than sit down eat a whole meal. So, he helped me figure out how to request the food. They don't do social things. The activity is physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. That's what they're concentrating on. It does seem stimulating to her.
