Please don't send your loved ones here. My father was admitted just off a ventilator, awake and aware, communicating and improving. Within a week, we were told by his friend who was with him all the time that he had a bed sore. We asked about it repeatedly and were reassured that it was just a red spot and they had treated it and were looking out for it. It was covered, so we could not see it. Looking back, we should have asked to check it. They allowed his health to decline without a visit from a doctor (these only happen 1x/month), even after we requested that a doctor look at him. He had visibly declined to a nearly catatonic state and even we could see that his breathing had worsened considerably. I requested a doctor again on a Thursday. Nothing was done until Monday when they suddenly sent him to Harborview where it was discovered that he had pneumonia again and he had a necrotic bed sore. They were completely negligent in his treatment. He was not able to recover from the state he was in at that point. They will seem very friendly and helpful, but it is all to placate you. There is a different nurse every day. They don't seem to discriminate between the patients at all, expecting them all to be in the same comatose state. A doctor is not called unless the nurse thinks they need it and they are obviously not able to make that call. Terrible terrible care.

Well I had a broken leg from riding a bike to work and I had a schedule with Swedish for a surgery. When I went in there, all the medical staffs were so nice. They provided great hospitality. They also promised that the surgery was no problem. It was, by the time I was done with my surgery. I decided to make this hospital my main "savior." They gave me an ending paper sayingChoosing a home health or hospice care program through Swedish Visiting Nurse Services means that expert medical care continues in your home.
