I am/was a resident of this facility

I recently spent 12 days at Garden Terrace for rehab. It was clean and the food was ok. The direct service providers were under staffed but for the most part, I received good care. Melinda, Kara and Nurse Estella provided especially good care. I was surprised they do not provide decaf coffee. I could not drink regular coffee and I'm sure there were others who needed decaf. I was really disappointed in their lack of a perfume-free environment as I am allergic to most perfumes. I expect a health care facility to maintain a healthy environment. Several of the staff wore a lot of perfume. I was very uncomfortable with those who leaned over me checking vitals, etc. I discussed it with a supervisor who apparently believed I was the only one allergic. Two days later I encountered her wearing perfume.

My mother passed on 2/24/23. She suffered a horrid death. Staff did not provide comfort care - that’s for sure!!

My Husband was in the Garden Terrace Rehab in Federal WA from the 29th of June to the 25th of July. I cannot express our Thanks for such efficient care he received during his rehab visit. I would like to express our thanks for the care from Melinda, Liz the RN and Lucy the RN also. They made his stay so enjoyable!. The rest of the staff in the Azalea Gardens were so EXCELLENT also. Too many to name, as I have forgotten there names. You folks staff the most fun loving staff. We just want to THANK YOU ALL!!! YOU FOLKS HAVE OUTDONE YOURSELVES. NEVER HAVE WE EXPERIENCED SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PLACE.!

My mom is at Garden Terrace now. It's a beautiful facility, doesn't smell bad, and everyone who works there is really nice. It's a great place. The staff is very good, and the food is OK. My mom is actually in the Alzheimer's unit now, and they have more activities, like they keep everybody in the living room all day for coloring and doing crafts. The other wing doesn't have that because it's just a short-term place; it's not a place where people go to live. They stay there until their rehabilitation is over, and then they leave. Right now, she's in a private room, and it's nice. The staff is just really so nice. It's also very clean, and it doesn't smell.

My mom and dad are currently at Garden Terrace of Federal Way. It's convenient to get to and they have friendly staff. The facility is also very clean. I'm fine with everything and would recommend their rehabilitation services to others.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother-in-law stayed at Garden Terrace while she recuperated from surgery on her leg. Some members of the staff, at first, were kind of difficult for her to get along with, in the beginning. But it didn't take long before we saw that they were caring, professional, friendly and surprisingly easy-going. I also love the fact that they have a freezer full of ice cream for both patients and visitors. Personally, I don't think I've eaten so much rainbow sherbet in my life as I have when I was visiting my mother-in-law there; and we visited with her a lot. Though I never ate any of the food, I have to admit that the food that my mother-in-law did eat looked incredibly unappetizing. That, and the fact that the entertainment department insisted on showing Lawrence Welk (how cliche) nightly in the recreation room, was rather disappointing. Again, I never actually participated in recreation activities, but my mother-in-law and I would always make jokes about how dull the activities seemed. Those would be the only knocks I have on this place. But they're minor to me, because I expect tastes differ from mine (and my mother-in-law's) and other people's.
