It is a very small community, and they're getting their license for memory care. It feels more personal because it's small. My mom is in a shared suite, which is nice, she has her own bedroom, and shares the bathroom and sitting room. They have daily activities for the residents also. The staff I met there was also very nice, and my mother seems to like the food.

Lavender Hills Front Royal Campus is a memory care community. Carol was the one who gave us the tour. She was also a certified nursing assistant and she was very friendly, welcoming, and able to provide a very detailed description of the daily schedule for the type of residents that were there. We were able to go and look into the rooms and we were happy with what we saw. Everything looked very clean, warm, and homey. I think there are about 25 people and currently, they had about 10, so they were not full when we went. The companion rooms were spacious. They had a complete divider wall between the rooms and then a shared bathroom and a shared sitting area. The majority of the people were doing crafts activities when we were there, but they had a full day scheduled from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. So, they get everyone out of their rooms (those who can) and participate in the activities all day long. The inside was not as modern looking as some other facilities, but it was clean and had a caring environment. They had a small outdoor area that was going to be renovated, so it was not available at the time, but there's a sidewalk that you could walk around in the front area of the building. They were a lesser expensive community, probably about $3,000 less than the others.
