Nursing Home Communities in Front Royal, VA

"The Village at Orchard Ridge is fairly new and it definitely would be a wonderful place. They have a lot of apartments and health care providers can come in and provide care. It is not for the average person because we're talking about a lot of money and you buy into it initially. They still had apartments in June but they were 95% sold out. "

"My husband is in Rose Hill Health and Rehab. So far, it's been very good. The place is very, very welcoming. The staff has been exceptionally good. They always respond when he rings the bell and give him what he needs and do what needs to be done. The dining area is nice and clean. I see residents playing games in a room, and I see them in the hallways walking. The lady that's the head of admissions has been working with us very, very well."

"I was told i would get 2 hours of pt a day. That was a lie. I got maybe 1 hour. In bed the rest of the time. Horrible place and so was the slop they called food. Look into other options before going there. I signed myself out after 3 nights. My arm and hands were swollen I was told they would contact my doctor. I never heard back . The first night I was there no one came in to let me know anything. Its like I was left there all by myself. My roommates daughter checked her out because the staff sent her to the doctor with the oxygen turned off. This 80+ lady could have died. I will say the travel cna's were good and helpful except the day i discgsrged myself. I have ms. My my mobility is limited. Three of them picked me up and flung me in the wheelchair. I was glad to get the heck out of there. If you care about yourself or loved ones then don't go or send them there. It wasn't rehab at all! "

"Compared to other nursing homes that I have been in Montvue is defiantly the worst. There is almost nothing for the residents to do other than sit in their wheel chairs in the hallway or in their rooms and rot. The place smells of urine and feces, so they obviously do not clean up their residents on a timely basis. Their food makes most public school lunches seem like five star cuisine. Some of the staff is friendly, but most do not even want to be there and treat the residents with disrespect. Most of the residents suffer from severe mobility issues or dementia, and it seems as though not much is being done to help these individuals. I have had multiple family members be submitted to this nursing home due it being cheaper than other alternatives in the area, but even though it may be the cheap they certainly do not provide a good enough service to even charge any kind of fee. "

"The grounds are spacious and open with a friendly staff. The staff is very enthusiastic and involved in the lives of the residents, and they put on regular activities. There is a large recreation room where residents gather for snacks and occasional parties. There seemed to be a calendar of daily activities so that there was always something going on for those who needed socialization and mental stimulation. I remember there were games in the TV room, and many of the residents knew each other well and loved chatting for hours. They were mostly free to spend their days as they wished, and the staff was very helpful and encouraging. My extended family sat around in a semi-circle and watched sports before breaking out into a sing-song session, and everyone was entertained by our shenanigans. I was impressed by the overall cleanliness of the facility and the attentiveness of staffers. It was also very peaceful but still full of life. "

"With experience here in Northern VA with 4 othets, this place is the only one I'd rrecommed. Ratings on Medicare give them all scores that would make you not want to use any of them. But what we found here was more caring aids and willingness of Administrator to remain approachable & accepting of criticism without making excuses. Granted the same complaint that plagues all similar type facilities is failure to respond in a timely manner to the call button light that beams in the hallway. And, there's nothing that can replace the watchful eyes/advocate that relatives & friends should exercise. "

"E. A. Hawse was secluded in the countryside with very nice surroundings. The manager seemed to be on top of things. The staff was very friendly. The rooms seemed very nice. They had a physical therapy center, a community room, and they had someone there who does activities. The whole place was very clean, and there was no odor about it. It was just smaller, and they had fewer residents per staff. Locally, the E. A. Hawse has a very good reputation. "
