"We think Skyline is very good. Mother is happy there. The staff is excellent. They work with her, and they work with us. They built a brand new, beautiful dementia ward. They have Bingo. Every couple of days they have different activities. They should have a little bit more activities for dementia patients. "

"Compared to other nursing homes that I have been in Montvue is defiantly the worst. There is almost nothing for the residents to do other than sit in their wheel chairs in the hallway or in their rooms and rot. The place smells of urine and feces, so they obviously do not clean up their residents on a timely basis. Their food makes most public school lunches seem like five star cuisine. Some of the staff is friendly, but most do not even want to be there and treat the residents with disrespect. Most of the residents suffer from severe mobility issues or dementia, and it seems as though not much is being done to help these individuals. I have had multiple family members be submitted to this nursing home due it being cheaper than other alternatives in the area, but even though it may be the cheap they certainly do not provide a good enough service to even charge any kind of fee. "The people at Heritage Hall Front Royal are very caring. We've always had good conversations with them. Anytime we call, the nurse speaks with us right then and they're very willing to work with us. My mom has dementia and now she's mainly just sleeping all the time. So, she doesn't need a lot of care right now but they're very good with turning her and feeding her and dressing her. We've been pleased with her care. They're very friendly and very warm. There's a lot of food and it looks delicious and smells delicious. Mom's insurance has been paying for her stay there, up until this past week, we'll have to do private pay after, but it's worth the money."

"E. A. Hawse was secluded in the countryside with very nice surroundings. The manager seemed to be on top of things. The staff was very friendly. The rooms seemed very nice. They had a physical therapy center, a community room, and they had someone there who does activities. The whole place was very clean, and there was no odor about it. It was just smaller, and they had fewer residents per staff. Locally, the E. A. Hawse has a very good reputation. "

"My parents are in the Lyn Care Center and we're very, very pleased with the care that they're getting. I feel that they are in a very safe and caring environment. Most of the staff, especially their nursing staff, is very, very good, although I feel that some of the younger staff is not as caring. They do have some activities out there, but my mother has dementia so most of the time she's happy to be by herself and then have visitors. "

"I have visited this nursing home several times to visit my grandmother who has been there for over two years. I have found that it is actually a pretty good place. The staff is fairly enjoyable, there are some nurses that are very comical and friendly. There are also a few who obviously do not enjoy their jobs but for the most part they are pleasant. The facilities appear to be clean and all residents seem to be overall well taken care of and happy. Of course there is that incredibly strange smell when you walk into the front door, as with most nursing homes but it is not too overwhelming. I have found each of my visits to the nursing home to be pleasant and my grandmother enjoys many of the activities offered. They have the room numbers of the patients and maps located at the entrance so it is very easy to find your way around. They also have a wide variety of activities for the patients there which are also listed by the main entrance. "

"Orchard Ridge opened in 2013, is very nice, and focuses on care in the apartment or detached home you purchase there. They also have a nursing home which they project will be certified for Medicaid in about a year and a half. "

"My husband was at Evergreen Health and Rehab. I liked the facility very much. They had a very nice space. The older people seemed to like it very much. I thought it was very clean and nice, and I liked it. The shared room was very nice and had two men in there, my husband and another man, but they had their privacy. The caregivers were really nice and helped him a lot. I enjoyed being there. It was a brief stay but what I saw was very nice. "

"I stayed in Winchester Health & Rehabilitation. The rooms were a little small. The facility was all right. I think it's better for rehab people than it is for the nursing home people. They're all very nice, and they all help each other, but they don't have enough help amongst them. They don't have enough CNAs. Some people come in and play music for them. They offer board games, bingo, dominoes, and movies on the weekend. Every week, they have a celebration or something. They have different things like snack night or ice cream sundae day. I never went to the dining area because I couldn't walk, but they brought the food to me. It wasn't restaurant style, but it was all right. It was edible. They could get more staff. If you want something for them to bring you, something like medicine or whatever, you can wait a long time for it. It wasn't that the staff was bad; it was just that they didn't have enough people."
