"My aunt is at the memory care unit of Skyline Terrace Nursing Home and Memory Lane Assisted Living. We go to visit her every day, and we can see her in the courtyard or the conference room, and we've had a good experience. The primary director was out because she had broken her foot, so we had to work with some staff that don't normally do intake. So, it was a little disjointed at first, but once they got their ducks aligned, it went pretty well. They don't actually let us see her room because it's COVID, but prior to moving her in, we got to see the room. It was kind of like a hospital room. There's a TV mounted on the wall above the closet, there's a hospital bed, a dresser, a nightstand, and a fairly large walk-in closet that she shares with another resident. There's a wall between the two residents so that they can't just look over at each other, but they are in the same room, essentially. The staff has been great to work with. They're responsive and answer all our questions. We haven't figured out how to get weekly updates from someone there, maybe a primary nurse that takes care of her, so that's something we have to figure out. They just sort of brought her out to us when we asked to visit, but when we're with her alone, she doesn't remember anything. You can't ask her how she's eating or how things are going because she just doesn't remember. I'm sure we'll get into a rhythm with that. We haven't figured out whether we need to start emailing somebody or if there's a particular person we should be calling every week or what, but they have a ton of activities. They have an activities calendar that they send to the house. She has not participated in much of the activities, but they have a lot of activities available."

"My mother is in Dutch Haven Assisted Living and I like it all. The layout is great, and it's broken up into little sections. The attendants, nurses, and aides are superior. The dining area is always clean and they serve the food according to the patients; they're great. They do activities like bingo, little art activities, planting activities, and they actually brought in a little bird aviary with finches in it so they can all enjoy it. It has been great. The staff is great and the residents all seemed to enjoy the food, and they fix it the way they can have it. It's an older community, and it's an older home that's converted, so it's very homey and comfortable. They have a lot of activities."

"Compared to other nursing homes that I have been in Montvue is defiantly the worst. There is almost nothing for the residents to do other than sit in their wheel chairs in the hallway or in their rooms and rot. The place smells of urine and feces, so they obviously do not clean up their residents on a timely basis. Their food makes most public school lunches seem like five star cuisine. Some of the staff is friendly, but most do not even want to be there and treat the residents with disrespect. Most of the residents suffer from severe mobility issues or dementia, and it seems as though not much is being done to help these individuals. I have had multiple family members be submitted to this nursing home due it being cheaper than other alternatives in the area, but even though it may be the cheap they certainly do not provide a good enough service to even charge any kind of fee. "The people at Heritage Hall Front Royal are very caring. We've always had good conversations with them. Anytime we call, the nurse speaks with us right then and they're very willing to work with us. My mom has dementia and now she's mainly just sleeping all the time. So, she doesn't need a lot of care right now but they're very good with turning her and feeding her and dressing her. We've been pleased with her care. They're very friendly and very warm. There's a lot of food and it looks delicious and smells delicious. Mom's insurance has been paying for her stay there, up until this past week, we'll have to do private pay after, but it's worth the money."

"E. A. Hawse was secluded in the countryside with very nice surroundings. The manager seemed to be on top of things. The staff was very friendly. The rooms seemed very nice. They had a physical therapy center, a community room, and they had someone there who does activities. The whole place was very clean, and there was no odor about it. It was just smaller, and they had fewer residents per staff. Locally, the E. A. Hawse has a very good reputation. "

"My mother is in here. It is a fantastic facility. The food is good, and the people who work there are extremely nice, very attentive, and really try. It's got nice decor and is very clean. They have games, music, people come in and sing, a Christmas ball, and kids who come in and sing. You can visit 24/7. It seems very family oriented. Her room is very nice and big. I have no complaints."

"Life Care of New Market was an absolute Godsend for us. My wife spent her last 6 weeks there. The care she received was incredible and was provided by even more incredible, kind, and caring staff. She was treated as if she was a relative. The entire medical staff is outstanding. They were constantly aware of my wife's condition, recommended treatments as soon as thy were needed, and kept me constantly updated. The facility is clean and modern. Her room was cleaned every day. Life Care provided physical, speech, and occupational therapy. I would highly recommend Life Care Center of New Market to anyone in need of their services."

"I was at The Village At Orchard Ridge from 2016 to 2020. I've been there recently; I've had friends there. They had a really great exercise program and probably some of the best instructors I've seen. Now, of course, COVID hit and changed a lot of things, but I'm talking about prior things. Before that, they had a wonderful concierge, and the people were very informed. They had a gorgeous gift shop there. They had a beautiful pub and a dining area there. It's very, very beautiful there and peaceful. They have a lot of activities. They take people places on the busses. They put on plays, and they do all kinds of things there. They're very energetic. I didn't have any trouble with the staff. They always tried to be helpful. When I left there, the concierge, in particular, was wonderful. As far as the people in the office, they were always willing to help you. They were never negative. Their maintenance people in particular were good, and they knew what they were doing. The other thing that's particularly important, is they're very clean and very hygienic. They're very good about that. They have a therapy place for therapy, which is in a separate building, and they also have skilled care. I've been in a lot of places like that in my life, and that is probably the nicest place I've ever been in. It's a country setting; it's a beautiful setting."

"My mom stayed for a week after a stay in the hospital to have her physical therapy that was needed. Everyone was friendly, Patients included. Rooms clean. Staff stopped by often to make sure She had everything She needed or just to say hello. The physical therapist worked daily with mom and were impressed how well she was doing. They answered any of my questions I had and told me to call if I had more or any concerns. The admitting staff were very friendly, helpful and took many calls from me with later questions. Mom was quarantined so we were able to have window visits and bring her dog as often as we could. Thanks again for a great stay. God bless you all!"
