"All I can say Is Wow! Shenandoah Nursing was the best choice for our father. My family began looking for long term care for my father and we've been on Shenandoah's wait list for a long while. I can see now why there Is a wait list. The staff are wonderful, treated each one of my sisters and our father like he was family. They went above and beyond what you would expect to make our father comfortable and he's a particular gentleman to say the least. Everyone there Is happy to be there, staff included and It shows. The director of nursing and her team of nursing staff always made us feel comfortable. Invited us to call or stop in at anytime. What a relief that was to us knowing our father was getting the best care. The facility Is immaculate, food was great and we didn't want for anything while our father was a resident. Thank you Shenandoah nursing and rehab."

"Avante was very clean. But like most nursing homes they're underpaid and overworked. There were too many people to care for. But I don't blame them. My father had Alzheimer's and he was in the process of getting hospice when he passed. "

"Summit Square is a lovely place. We have several friends that live there so we know quite a bit about it. We went and got some more information and we looked at the variety of accommodations that they have there. The staff was very knowledgeable and very warm. As I said, we have friends that live there and they're very satisfied with this place. I have eaten there many times and it's good. They also do some catering of lunches for civic groups. We had them catered for our group and their food is always good and their menu is always varied. With regards to activities, they did have a bus that takes people to concerts, etc. They just had a Christmas dinner where they could invite a few friends to join in for the meals. They have ongoing card games and I know that people would come in and do performances there. In general, they did have a fairly good variety of activities for their residents. What I like best about this place is its location. It's one of the two closest ones in the area where we live, so it wouldn't be moving at greater distance as some of the other places. Regarding recommendations, I would recommend that they at least consider this place. "

"I was very impressed with Sunnyside's activities. They have a lot of things that you can get involved in. I was impressed by the amount of things that they have. They have a wide selection. The staff is very nice also. I have several calls after I came home. There were a number of follow up calls asking if I was interested and if there was anything that they could do to make it more interesting than it was. The grounds are gorgeous. Everything inside is very nice, clean, and organized. Their accommodation for one is a large living room. The one that they showed me has a patio where you can go outside to sit right in front of your apartment. It also has a nice bedroom and a kitchenette. The food is very good. "

"My wife is in Blue Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing. I like the care she's getting. I like how clean they keep it. They take good care of her and take care of her needs. It's nice and clean. It's like any brick home. The grass is cut and the bushes are trimmed. Every place has trouble with staff and all, but I'm really happy with it. The staff is doing a good job taking care of her. The food I saw was excellent. They have the rehab room for all the machines and everything for exercise. If she needs to go to doctor's appointments, she gets a ride. They keep her room clean and the floors clean. I'm satisfied."

"The people who work there are very nice. I know they had my grandparent's best interests at heart. I thought it was cute that they had room mates. My grandparents got along well with their roommates and they were always happy to talk to us when we would visit. There is a court yard, which is nice, but it is rather underwhelming. It could be better maintained. The dining hall is probably the best part with its high ceilings and long tables. As nice as the people there were, I always wished we didn't have to put my grandparents there. The facilities are drab and just generally depressing. The wood panels and the fact that everything is brown makes it look like some sort of 1980's rehab facility. There are nicer homes in the area, we just could not afford it. it is a safe place, but just a bit depressing. "

"My great uncle stayed at Oak Lea Nursing Home for the final two and a half years of his life. Having my great uncle become a resident at this facility was the absolute best decision my family could have made. The professionalism of the staff is truly second to none. I find the attention to detail of the staff to be very impressive. They create a very family friendly environment. This is a great facility for anyone that wants their family member to be in a safe and secure environment. My great uncle was very fond of being here and formed many meaningful friendships with other residents. My family have recommended many people to have their family members to become residents at Oak Lea also. Another thing I admired about this nursing home was how much the staff respected the residents' privacy when family and friends would come and visit. "

"Trinity Mission Health and Rehab was clean. I would not have let my wife go back the second time if it wasn't clean the first time. The food wasn't a problem. As far as therapy, she wasn't able to take therapy while she was still on IVs. I don't have any problem with them or I wouldn't have gone back. I went with the administrator one time, and I talked directly to him. He even put me up in a motel for 5 nights. Trinity is the only one I still trust and I have no one else to recommend besides them. "

"My mother was in Albemarle Health & Rehabilitation Center for over a month. The rehab center did not work for my mom. She is 97 years old. When we put her there, we explained to her that she needs to work hard on the rehab part because she fell and broke her hip before. She did not take to it. She wanted to do it, but just did not have strength and she developed some issues while she's there like bed sores. They decided that she is not a candidate to stay there any longer, and they made us move her out to another facility. We were not going to leave her in Albemarle because it was so expensive. Most of the staff are fine. We noticed that they didn not seem to be staffed very well, and they did not have enough people to answer the phone or return phone calls. They have a very strict visitation policy, like zero visitations while my mother was there and we could not visit her at all. My mother said the food was fine. We were paid for by Medicare for her rehab, but to stay and live there would be $9,000 a month. That is pretty strong."

"My mom will be moving into Our Lady of Peace. Everybody was very helpful. We checked their menu, but we did not eat there. It seemed like a good variety with fresh fruits and vegetables. There are different menus that you can pick from instead of just having one thing. The place was not too big, which I liked. It was easy to get around. Their rooms are clearly marked. They had stairs and elevators, which is good. There also was a nice outdoor area. We happened to be sitting outside and started talking to several residents. A big part of it was their impressions of the facility. The place did not set it up. It just happened because we were sitting, and people joined us and started talking. The fact that people were doing that is a big positive."
