"My mother-in-law went to Oak Grove Residential Care today, and she has settled in. It feels good. Everybody is friendly. The place is clean and very accommodating. Her room looks small, but very accommodating. She likes the food a lot. I think the dining room is good. They have movies, Wii activities, and church. "

"I have accompanied my husband on several occasions to this nursing home when his parents were both staying here for rehabilitation purposes. During each instance, their stay was approximately for thirty to forty-five days. I observed the staff to be very friendly and attentive to their needs. At times, my mother-in-law could be very difficult and demanding to some of the nursing staff at this facility. Nevertheless, they were always willing to go the extra mile to make sure that they had all the snacks that were requested from the cafeteria and any other necessities. The amenities of this facility were more than adequate for the needs of my in-laws. They had a calendar posted in the rooms with daily activities and religious ceremonies that were held at the facility. The facility was not as attractive as some of the others in the area, but appeared to be clean and orderly during my visits. Overall, I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone considering nursing home placement for their loved one. "

"I think this facility is pretty good. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The food is not so great but of course it could be what grandma has to eat. I do have a problem with them not turning her like they should She has developed a bed sore and they do not turn her properly. The overall cleaning is ok. I think they could be a lot cleaner. It would also help if they removed some of the stuff out of the hallway. There are stretchers, carts, wheel chairs and misc items all over the hallway. Sometimes the patients are rather rude but I guess it is because they have major problems. They rarely taker her outside and she loves the outdoors. It is in a fairly decent location in Danville though. Most places in the area seem to be in sketchy neighborhoods but this one is not so bad. "

"I went to visit a friend in Riverside Health & Rehab Center. Everything was kind of tight. It was just OK. There wasn't anything special about it. It was clean. The staff was friendly, but it just didn't make you feel happy there. Everything was close together. It was just not a place where I would feel comfortable with my loved one there, it just seemed like just the place to be. They have physical therapy. They have a beautician. They have some activity. They provide transportation to doctor's visits and such."

"The rehab facility where my wife is at is called The Stratford Rehabilitation Center. My wife has been pleased with it and I have been satisfied with it. They have been most accommodating. My wife has gotten a lot of therapy there. The therapy has just been most helpful, both physical and occupational. Although it is an older site, and it needs to be rehabilitated in my opinion, but I have no complaints about it. My wife was sick when she went there, and they accommodated her very well, serving her needs. With the staff that they have, I have no complaints about them whatsoever. They attempt to respond to emergency calls, and I have seen that not only with my wife but with others as well. So I have nothing but good things to say about the staff and their services. "

"I have found the South Boston Health and Rehab staff to be helpful and courteous. They are all patient and compassionate. My husband's room is nice and has a view. The meals are typically quite good. The nursing home has a great activities department. All nursing homes are experiencing staff shortages, not just South Boston Health and Rehab. By understanding this is nationwide, hopefully families and residents will recognize that the need for patience and effective communication is necessary. The jobs of the CNA's and Nurses are not easy. In particular, the CNA has tasks that are the most difficult. Their duties are underappreciated. Be kind to your CNA and Nurse! They are the key to your loved one's comfort and care! "

Welcome to Sentara Woodview! Sentara Woodview has been an active participant in the life of the community since 1983 and is home to nearly 200 residents needing either rehabilitation or long-term care. We believe that our residents and their families deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and compassion and we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care possible. Our staff practices person-centered and resident-directed care and recognizes that each resident is an individual with his or her own life story, beliefs and needs and is entitled to live a safe and comfortable life as independently as possible. We recognize the importance of quality-of-life in successful aging and believe that the promotion of concepts and beliefs of wellness are critical to aging successfully. This challenges us to see the individual's health status through the eyes of wellness instead of relating it to illness or disability. This approach to promoting the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of the individual requires a collaborative effort among the resident, the family members, the community and the healthcare providers. Hence, all of these individuals become partners in promoting a high quality of care and quality of life. "My mother-in-law is staying in Mulberry Creek Nursing & Rehab Center, and I think it's pretty good. Their visiting is limited because of the pandemic. It's very hard to make a judgment about the nursing care or anything that I've observed, but I will tell you that she seems to be pleased with the nursing care. The nurses are always prompt and call me to let me know if there have been any changes, if they've changed any medication, or if she's not feeling well. I've been very pleased with that. You can only visit for 30 minutes twice a week, so it's kind of hard to judge what's going on, but she seems to be comfortable and taken care of. We've had very little interaction with the staff, but they do call me and let me know if there are changes in her condition. They're very positive, very accurate, and they're very kind."

"I visited this facility in April 2012 to see my aunt. She was on the South end of the facility. I found everyone there to be very friendly. The receptionist at the door greeted us and knew exactly what room my aunt was in. As we walked down the hall, the area smelled like what could have possibly been dirty diapers or human odor. I'm sure that that's common in facilities such as this, and I only smelled it on my way in and not my way out. My aunt was in good spirits and said everyone there had been real nice to her. She had just finished eating and said the food wasn't too bad considering where she was. We stayed about an hour or so until my cousin came in to visit and as I had my wife and four children with me which was a room full in a semi private room, I politely excused us and we made our way back to the front. All the nurses and aides seemed friendly and played with my children. The facility did appear clean throughout. All in all, if I had to go to a facility of this nature, I believe I would like it to be this one. "

"Everything has been great at Boston Commons so far. The place is clean and really livable. My aunt's been there for almost two months now ,and she's happy with it. I have nothing but good things to say about it. My aunt says the food is excellent. They have basketball games and stuff to watch. Everybody seemed really happy with it. I was happy with the way they presented themselves."
