I toured The Glen at Oak Ridge. What I liked best was that the facility was nice and bright. The people were very happy. At least, they appeared to be. The rooms were nice. The facility was just too far for me. I met one of the staff members, plus the person who is taking you around, and they're very nice. They would answer all the questions. The facility was bright. There were plenty of comfortable chairs and tables. I saw the food service, and it was well done.

Resident left screaming alone in her room for how long? I visited The Glenn a few weeks ago on a Tuesday ~ 4:30 pm to check it out as potential assisted living for a relative. I talked to a young woman (Elizabeth?) at the desk in the front lobby. She was friendly and gave me a brochure and permission to wander a little in the main areas on the first floor. I walked into an open area behind the lobby desk. There I heard a woman screaming "help help help!" She sounded frantic. I knew it would be inappropriate for me to try to find her room and enter it, so I hurried back to Elizabeth, who rushed down a hallway behind the lobby desk to the very last room on the left. I don't know what was wrong with the poor woman, but I left feeling relieved that someone was finally attending to her. I have no idea how long she was yelling for help. I do know if she was my family I would want to be made aware of this and I would have a lot of questions to ask of The Glen.

I toured here. It was very nice. The people were very nice. I thought it was a good place. My tour was not during one of their activities or anything, so several of the residents were just sitting around eating breakfast. However, they have some gardening areas where people can go out and do some gardening. I saw the living spaces in the memory care. They're a little bit different because there are no doors in the closet and things like that, but they were a good size, and the bathrooms were nice. They had nice walk-in showers with seats. It was a nice area. Everything was good and clean when I was there. Everything was nice and smelled nice.

It was very nice. They decorated it for Christmas at the time. We saw the ground floor where the meals were served. There's an elevator and we went up to the second floor to see one of the rooms and they were very nice. They have a really neat movie room where people can have movie nights on a big screen (that was cool!) They also exercise and have pedicures and manicures. All the rooms had microwaves, but three meals a day were served.

It was a newer place and it showed. It had an open feeling when you first walk in, like a "let's get together" kind of atmosphere. The person who assisted me was very enthusiastic and really knew her stuff. She made me feel welcome. The food was very good and nicely served.
