Assisted Living Communities in Kingston, TN

"I'm at Autumn Care; I've already got a place. I've been here for one week now. It's very clean. The staff members are very friendly and very knowledgeable about their jobs. Their food is awesome. They have, exercise with the bands as a group, they have dancing to the music to get them moving around, they have bingo, and they have karaoke. There's constantly something going on. Their prices are very fair. There's a patio with tables and a fire pit, and they do barbecues in that out there. They have a van like they got a color tour. They do different things like that besides everything else going on."

"We were very impressed with Northshore Heights - Knoxville. You feel like you're going into a resort hotel because it had a lot of seating outside. It had the look of a resort hotel both in the front when you went in and in the back where they had a very nice seating area. The back faces up a hill, and it's on a ridge. It was nicely laid out. It was very comfortable because when you go in the front, there were seating areas out there where people can just hang out. In the back, they had the same thing with a patio area, and it was very comfortable. The dining room had a very high ceiling. It had a kind of a lodge feel to it. The apartment units were all nice. The building was clean, looked fairly new, and there was a lot of good stuff to it. They didn't try to be too fine on all extras. It wasn't complicated like some places where they have like five different levels. It was a simple model. It makes it more predictable. I liked that we didn't have to try to guess as much on which level my sister-in-law would be. It was a nice facility. It was wheelchair friendly, but you didn't feel like it was a hospital or anything. It had that comfortable feel to it. They had a little bit of a basic menu. It was adequate but it was the kind that you might get bored if that's all you ate. We only talked to the salesperson. She took us around, and she was very pleasant, but it seemed like when you run into the people there, they seemed to be friendly. I didn't see anything negative there. She showed us quite a few units of the different types they had. It was pretty nice. They even had a little land for expansion there."

"My father has been in the Victorian Square Assisted Living Community since 2011. His room is very small but it's a very clean place. They have a lot of activities and he says the facility is OK. They do their laundry and housekeeping. They have a beauty shop and a nice exercise room. They also go on outings, do crafts, play bingo, card games, and stuff like that."

"Linda Gregg Trenton is amazing in every way, treats his staff with the utmost respect. Genuinely cares and has compassion for his patients. He welcomes everyone with open arms, it’s a friendly, family oriented atmosphere feels like home. He keeps the place sparkling clean, the food is absolutely delicious. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, you have found it. My Mom loves it here. ."

"Every time we came in, people were polite to us and helped us out. They were great, but the first thing that hit you when you came in the door was the smell! It is indescribable. It smelled like green beans, a little like a squeaky disinfectant smell, and urine and feces. People seemed taken care of alright, although I do remember one instance where an old man in a wheelchair, seemingly unattended, kept trying to talk to me from the hallway. He seemed very senile and very much out of it. I was waiting for someone to come by and help him back to his room, but no one did. In general, I do find these homes slightly depressing - this one just didn't stand out to me as being any better. Yes, the home took care of the people's needs for food, water, cleanliness, and comfort in general and kept those up to standards, but again, it was not very happy feely there. "

"NHC Farragut is one of the newer nursing home facilities in the area and it is also one of the best, in my opinion. The facility itself is beautiful and gives residents the feeling that they are in a home setting more than a nursing home. It always seemed that the patients were comfortable, which can only help with healing the body and mind. The food was actually pretty good, and they were always very kind about any special diet needs that the patient had. Our friend had always been so nervous about having a catheter put in because he had very unpleasent experiences in the past with nurses being too rough when inserting the catheter. Not at NHC Farragut, though! The nurses there took their time, taught him to lay in specific positions to ease the catheter in, and even breathing techniques to relax him. I could not be more impressed with this place. "

"I thought it was great. They were wonderful and very attentive. They answered questions. They took their time; I didn't feel rushed. They showed me the cafeteria, the library, an exercise room, the chapel, and some little garden areas outside. They showed me some activities that some of the residents were doing, like craft-type activities. Then they took us to the actual floor that my mother-in-law would be on and showed us a room. The room was like a hospital room. It was a small room with a bathroom attached, and that was pretty much it. It was private. And it would come to my mother-in-law unfurnished, so she would have to furnish it. If she wanted a small refrigerator, she would have to take that with her, too. It would just be an empty room and a bathroom. They have like where they put my mother-in-law's name on the list if she wanted to do a specific thing, and then they would come back and get her when it was time for that thing and take her to wherever it was happening. They also told us that they'd take the residents out to dinner once a week if they wanted to go. Of course, they have to pay for their own food. They would take them to a restaurant so they could go to dinner, and they would take them shopping. They have a shuttle. One day a week, they'd go to Walmart, and one day a week, to the grocery store. They would go to the movies if they wanted to go, too. I think it would be perfect for her because she would have made friends with people her own age, but she is not ready. The people we passed in the hallways weren't the ones showing us the tour made it a point to be friendly. And some of the residents even came up to us and said, 'Are you going to come and live with us here?' So some of the residents were trying to be friendly, too. The place seemed clean and appropriate."

"This is a small 10 bed facility. The residents seem to be well adjusted, the caregivers are dedicated and care about the residents and facility. The main community living room could use some sprucing up, it seems to be a little cluttered. The facility was clean and well organized. All in all this is a lovely place to live and visit. The staff was caring and compassionate. "

"Wood Rehabilitation was a very clean facility which was very important. I was close to the facility so I saw that the residents got the proper care and attention. I would highly recommend this facility. "

"The rooms in The Courtyards were good, an adequate size, and easy to get around in. They had lots of activities, but it seemed there were people that needed more help. We weren't as impressed with the person who toured us. They had a nice central dining area with activity rooms next to it. "

"The apartment that I saw at Autumn Care Assisted Living at Farragut was nicely appointed and brand-new. They're a little bit small, but it was very nice. The staff said they provided activities for the residents and they also had a room for activities. They also had a room you can reserve and have your family come, then have a meal served and that kind of thing. It was a nice assisted living."

"My father is at Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley. He went to the memory care. It's been excellent. They have very caring people, and so far we are very pleased. It's an excellent facility. It's brand new, so it's very nice. It's very clean. They have a salon, physical therapy, and OT. They have everything that he needed. The activities are very good. They keep him out and about and busy all the time. The value for money is very good."

"I feel very good about the care my mother gets at Golden Years. It feels like a large, happy home, with loving, personal attention by the staff and medical care provided either on-site or by transportation to local services. They cook actual home-style, tasty, healthy meals and provide all levels of assistance, as needed, from bathing, dressing, blood-sugar-testing, etc. I cannot imagine I'd have found a better place for my mother - she had received sub-par care in far more expensive facilities prior to moving her to Golden Years from out of state. The all-inclusive monthly fee is extremely good value. The only drawback perhaps is that the local hospital may not provide the spectrum of care needed by some people - you need to look into this first. By the way, Golden Years took good care of my grandmother, too, who passed at the age of nearly 107, after 7 years of dedicated care there. They are extremely patient and understanding of residents with dementia, and the facility is well secured."

"Autumn Care Assisted Living was about two years old and it was clean, up-to-date and modern. The staff were very competent and nice. Both my parents lived there and they had different activities like bingo, current events and people came to entertain the residents. It was a very active community. The dining room was very nice though I haven't eaten there, but my parents seemed to like the food. They were happy there. Although it would be better it they had a service van that would take the residents to doctor's appointment and to the stores. "
