"My wife has moved into Renaissance Terrace Community Living Center for rehab. I like the fact that the entire staff seems to be very dedicated, very conscientious, and very, you know, very dedicated towards helping people, like a lot of other medical facilities around the very shorthanded. They're doing their best to work with her. She has a lot going on and they're doing their very best to help her out. Again, a somewhat larger staff would help, but in the places that we've been this year so far, everybody is understaffed. So, nothing new, so I rate them pretty high. The overall staff that is here, I would rate high. They were very thorough explaining things, and again, we could use more people, but the ones that they have here are very good. It isn't necessarily their fault, but they do have COVID restrictions, so I can't go in there and look around. They do have a gym. It's not huge and spacious like the place we were at. Right now, she's covered by Medicare. I don't even know what the billing is."

"Every time we came in, people were polite to us and helped us out. They were great, but the first thing that hit you when you came in the door was the smell! It is indescribable. It smelled like green beans, a little like a squeaky disinfectant smell, and urine and feces. People seemed taken care of alright, although I do remember one instance where an old man in a wheelchair, seemingly unattended, kept trying to talk to me from the hallway. He seemed very senile and very much out of it. I was waiting for someone to come by and help him back to his room, but no one did. In general, I do find these homes slightly depressing - this one just didn't stand out to me as being any better. Yes, the home took care of the people's needs for food, water, cleanliness, and comfort in general and kept those up to standards, but again, it was not very happy feely there. "

"We went to Baptist Health Care Center. The people were friendly. I thought they were straightforward, and I had no issues with the staff in terms of how they treated us. When you walk down the hall, you can see the interactions with the residents, and that felt really positive. However, the amenities weren't quite the same as a newer refurbished facility. "

"I took a complete tour of what's available at Good Samaritan Society - Fairfield Glade, and I liked the setup. It's just a little bit more money than I wanted to spend. Plus, the homes are a lot bigger than what I wanted. I wanted something small. They have a two-car garage. All the maintenance is done for you. They have all the appliances. It appealed to me. I was so impressed. The people I worked with were very friendly and accommodating. I just walked in there just to see about it, and they were willing to give me a tour. They gave me a nice brochure and explained everything very thoroughly. I happened to be there right at lunchtime and the food was very good."

"My mother is at River Grove Health and Rehabilitation. It's an older building, and it's very well-maintained. The nursing staff and the hospice staff, you can tell that they genuinely care. They are coming in to check on my mother constantly. They will hug her and they ask her if she needs anything. The whole place has been great. My mother has a shared room and for the first week or two, she was the only one in it. But since then, it has been shared. The staff are so friendly. They call and give me updates. When they got ready to administer the first of the liquid morphine to help her breathe easier, they called and asked if that was okay and let me know that they were going to do it. Everything has been good with the whole staff. The place is one level. You press a code to get in, and you press a code to get out for the residents' safety. It's just nice. The hallways are always clear. It has a nice courtyard area for the residents. It's a really nice place. The staff are just phenomenal. "

"My mother-in-law is currently at NHC in Oak Ridge, and she is getting very good care. I have noticed that mornings are more lively, and that might be a good time to make a first visit to check it out. All staff have been very friendly and caring with her (and us!). "

"I have spent a little over a month. The building is a building but the staff that work here are what makes it great. I give staff a 10. Nursing Jennifer is amazing so caring. CNAs Tanya and Brenda just to name a few are awesome. Therapy Scottie and Kerry got me back to where I need to be and able to go back home. I would highly recommend Diversicare to anyone needing rehab and nursing needs."

"The staff are very warm and friendly. Great relationships were made while I was here. Food was great. Activity director really understood my needs. I even got to paint and get a manicure! Overall good experience and I recommend to all. I did have a roommate but I made a true friend. The rooms were kept clean all of the time. "

"My grandmother went in after she suffered a brain bleed and uti. Fainted in my arms. She went in and was horrible. Could barely walk even with her walker. Couldn’t dress herself. Couldn’t bath herself. Dementia was awful. Couldn’t remember me. Barely remembered my mother. Now she is amazing. I️ have seen her move so fast in YEARS. Her dementia has actually improved. She’s eating better. She can dress herself mostly on her own. Can bath herself. She’s like a whole new person. I️ can’t thank the staff enough for caring for her and helping her get better. I️ haven’t seen her this active and happy I’m so long."

"My husband was admitted for physical therapy after a bad fall. The entire staff here is very friendly and accommodating to his needs as well as listening and addressing my concerns. The PT team is top notch here as well I saw an amazing improvement after only one week. I would highly recommend Spring City Care and Rehab to all in need of therapy to resume everyday life. A GREAT experience during a tramatic medical problem"

"Wood Presbyterian Home was very friendly, and it was very clean. They weren't trying to hide anything. The other thing is on the same site is a nursing home, so when my uncle gets to where he needs a nursing home, he can stay right here in the same facility. I saw all three levels of care. They have an exercise room, they have nurses on staff, they have a library, they have community rooms, they have a dining room, and then they have an outside courtyard."

"My father is at Wyndridge Health and Rehab Center. They take very good care of him. The rooms are very clean and very big. The food is very good, too. He doesn't go down to the activity room, but they come in there to try to interact with him. They have a rec room where they do movies and activities. The staff members are very caring and very professional. It is an older building, but it is very well maintained."

"We had a great visit at Cumberland Ridge Assisted. The director was very knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to answer any questions. We saw different rooms. They have different room size options, and the single rooms were larger than what we saw in the other places. They had two common sitting areas, the library, and the dining area. I saw a few of the residents here or there, just kind of visiting with each other. When we passed one resident slowly working her way down the hall. One of those staff members came by and knew her by name and encouraged her as she was slowly making her way. The rooms have individual locks, so that if they want to lock their door when they leave the room, they can. Obviously, there's a Master Pass key that the staff have. They provided a microwave, a small mini fridge, and cable as part of the cost in the room, which is nice. It's all one level."

"My husband has been in the Life Care Center of Crossville for two and a half years already. The staff is very helpful. The doctors there, they're young, but they're good. The patients get bathed when they're supposed to. They get taken care of. The food is pretty good. The only thing I was disappointed is, well, he was wearing dentures and I said they've got to be taken out at night because otherwise his mouth could get infected and so they did that, but there were a lot of times where they didn't put them in, and what's happening, the muscles in your mouth start to weaken. They would try to put it in when I would be there to say something, and he fought them because it was hurting, so now they don't put them in and all he does is chew his tongue, so that part I'm not happy with. He probably would have been able to speak better if he had his teeth in. But they have activities for the residents there. It's also a rehabilitation center, too. They have entertainment, and they have people come in and sing and play instruments. The dining area is very good. Everything is clean. They keep the place clean, which is good. It's nice. They keep everything in its place where it belongs. The physical therapy room is clean and good. He started in the lockdown section, and I said, 'He doesn't need lockdown, he can't walk, he's not going to escape.' They saw that and they finally moved him into the regular section. The staff members were all patient and very good."

"This is a fantastic home. My father, who has dementia, has been for about 5 years. He is kept clean and well fed. He always comments about the good food. The place is spotless. All homes are expensive, but this one was no more expensive than other places in Knoxville. Plus, the cost of diapers is covered. My dad is a difficult man to manage, especially with dementia, but they do a beautiful job with him. Most rooms are dual occupancy with a twin size bed, closet, and chest for each resident. He never participated in many activities, but before COVID, he did get to go on field trips. He usually attends church service onsite as well. "

"My Dad spent the last 4 years of his life here. He dad Parkinson's disease so it was impossible for me to care for him at home. There was a group of 6 residents who shared lunch and dinner in the common area on their floor. They were very close knit. The staff loved my Dad. In fact, several of them came to the memorial service we had for him in the chapel at Shannondale. I could not have been more pleased with Shannondale! "

"The residents at Samaritan Place receie the highest level of care of any place I have visited. The staff is definitely a team. Social Services and Activities are superior. This is the only Senior care facility with an Executive Chef and Sous Chef. The Chef was trained at Culinary Institute of America and received additional training in Paris. Meals are prepared at Samaritan place and transported to all other Catholic Chairity facility in Knoxville. "
