"Sunrise of Abington was great, and I liked it, but it was more pricey than other places we visited. Quality wise, it looked great. The people were friendly, answered all our questions, and assisted us in the decision making process. "

"Wesley was very elegant and very clean. It was a very nice place. They offered you two-bedroom units. The girl who toured us was very informative and had a very good manner. There was a chapel. Each apartment had its own washing facility with washer & dryer. There was a library and exercise area. They also did trips. Patients who were there could go on trips once a day. They offered transportation for the area like to the grocery, market, and drug stores. It was a very large community. It was located in an ideal area. If you went in and paid your initial entrance fee, you had a monthly charge. Assisted care was very expensive. "

"Traditions of Lansdale was very clean. It didn't have any smells and it felt like the people that work there were very friendly. They took the time to listen to any questions you may have. They didn't seem like they were trying to rush you through. We saw the dining room and the little area where they have to socialize with. It's a small facility. So, what they have are little programs like arts and crafts and socials. They also have a courtyard and a salon where residents could get a haircut."

"My father was at NewSeasons at New Britain. The facility was very clean and pretty. The staff were accommodating, friendly, helpful, nice and pleasant. We were in constant communication. The rooms were beautiful and the dining room was gorgeous. It was like a restaurant because they were given a menu to pick their food for the day. I have tried the food and it was good. The only problem I had was they did not have enough activities. "

"I went to McCallum Assisted Life. I saw a room with a shared bathroom. The staff told me the price point. They have a doctor every month that comes out to the location. They do things for them, they have activities, and they do the medication. I like the location. The staff was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and informative. It's an older facility, but it was nice and clean. They had a patio. They did show me the board where they have activities."

As a personal care home, The Roxborough Home for Women operates 24/7, providing private rooms, meals, laundry services, and light housekeeping for its residents. From the moment I first stepped into this facility for a visit, I have been impressed with the friendly, helpful, caring, and attentive staff at every level. My mother loves it here and the transition to this stage of life has been easier because of the staff at Wesley. I have complete peace of mind that my mother and her well being are top priorities. Most importantly, I know I am not alone in caring for my mother. "

"I visited Paradise Manor. They were very accommodating and very knowledgeable. The place was clean. It seemed to have everything there that was needed, and it's close to where I live. I believe it's like $1,500 a month. I didn't see many activities. I basically just saw the amenities. It's more of a studio-type environment."

"I went to The Philadelphia Protestant Home. I was there to visit them about a possible respite stay for my mother during the holidays. It was a lovely facility, what I saw. But because my mother needs a memory care unit, and they did not have respite stay for memory care. It was a lovely facility, what I saw, but I did not visit the memory care. I was able to tour the independent living and assisted living. I would give the staff a 4 because I had to do a lot of follow-up with her. Like she would tell me this would happen, she was going to set up an appointment with the director of nursing, so that's why I gave her 4 because she was good, she showed me around, but as far as follow through, I think the follow through could have been better. I did not try the food, but I did see the different restaurants and the dining halls. They were excellent. I would feel comfortable putting my mother there if they had the services that she needed. The people I saw were engaged. They were high functioning. Most of the people that I saw were independent."

"I love Symphony Square. It was very nice and the people were extremely friendly. They met most of the needs that my father would be looking for. However, the cost was a little bit prohibitive. The sample room was lovely. The dining room was very nice and large. They talked about field trips and different activities and we met the activity person. It's a big building, it's nice and modern, and the rooms were renovated and up-to-date."

"My aunt is in Oakwood Residence. I had a good experience with them. They were helpful. Any questions I had, they answered me. Any time I called, they called me right back. I have no complaints. My aunt seems to like it. She has been in the assisted living part for almost two weeks now, but we're not allowed to go into the rooms. They sent me pictures, and I could see it was a very nice large room with a nice closet, a bed, a nice comfy chair, and the bathroom is nice. She said the food is good. You get a menu and you pick what you want. You have two or three choices, and you have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. I can also bring her snacks, and she has a little refrigerator in her room. She has no complaints about the food. I love the service. The staff has been very nice. This one staff even sits with her and talks to her. If I email them, they email me right back. I've only been to the main door. I haven't seen the rest of it. When she went in, she was quarantined for 14 days. From the brochure, there seemed to be a lot of activities, but she hasn't started with them yet. For Thanksgiving, they gave everybody a big dinner. They had a big table set up with all kinds of food. For the money, it was very good. I've looked at a lot of assisted living places, and I thought it was reasonable."

"Brookdale Northampton was a wonderful place. The facility was pristine, and we liked it very much. They gave us all the information we needed to know. I was very impressed with everything about it. We looked at other places, and this was the best one. The administrator was excellent. The food selections and the dining room were awesome. The room was a little small, but the amenities were excellent."

"Columbia Cottage Collegeville looked very nice, and the people there were very congenial. It was relatively new, and it was right across the street from the Collegeville diner, and I liked their tuna fish sandwiches. It was also near the Toastmaster Club that I belong to. Everything I saw looked very nice. The room looked nice. Everything was clean. It's in a very good neighborhood. I saw the grounds, the office, and they had a little room where they held a cooking class."
