My husband is in Saint Joseph Care Center for long-term care and it's a very nice facility. People who work there are very nice, and they treat my husband very nicely. I know he gets lonely when I'm not there, but they talk to him. He had a nightmare the other night, and a charge nurse spent time with him, talking to him, reassuring him, and making him feel better. It's important to me that when he needs somebody, they're there. He could be a handful, but they are just very patient with him. He can't walk, so they get him out of the wheelchair, put him in bed, pull him up, and tuck him in. They're just very attentive to him, and I appreciate that. The room he's in right now is absolutely adequate and has plenty of room for a chair and everything that he needs. The bathroom is also very large. My husband has a really hard time eating, so they gave him a mechanical diet that he can handle a little bit better, and I thought that was very good. They are very attentive to things he asks for. The dining area is really nice. The food is served to him at the table with four other men, which makes it nice because he has somebody to talk to. There's also a place for guests to sit over there, and they would even give me food. They have a receptionist all day and all night. They are also always very in tune with what's going on with the people. We just had a daughter who died, and they were just extremely concerned. I guess stuff like that makes you feel almost like these people are family. They have so much activity, it's unbelievable. They have scheduled things they do every day, and they have extra things that they do, like the Halloween party coming up. People can even bring their pets with little costumes on them, which I think is hilarious. They do all sorts of things for the people to keep them entertained, physically active, and mentally working. I would pay a million dollars for my husband to be taken care of, so what I pay here is worth every nickel. I think it's a really great place for older people. It seems to fulfill a whole lot of things for them to keep going, keep active, and well taken care of.

I was at St Joe’s for 7 weeks for PT and OT following ankle surgery. 99% of staff helpful, patient-oriented, responsive, and respectful. One nighttime aide may have been in the industry a bit too long, but since I slept during her shift, no biggie. PT and OT therapists outstanding, personable, effective- Faith- a dynamo. Wish I could remember the names of OT guy & other PT woman. All figured prominently during my stay.

So very disappointed in the room my sister is in. Looks like it is just past a former gathering room/storage, at the end, dark, one window and room for another resident. It is depressing to us. I'm sorry, can't imagine how this environment could lift spirits. It would bring down her spirits. My sister has always been a very social individual. It even looks like her bed has a very lumpy mattress. Sparse and dungy drab. So very very sad. May be a reason for this set up, but I would not ever want my children to put me in this type of environment, ever. :(

Sad sad situation. They try. But they are completely understaffed. It was the best we could do.

They hang their hat on ratings based on the Independent Living, NOT the nursing home, assisted living or memory care. VERY poor management, VERY poor communication, but VERY caring nurses and custodial staff. Of great concern is the employment pool for Aides, which all longterm care facilities face. Their activities are mediocre at best. No one sits down and just has a conversation with these residents; it's all rush rush rush get work done. These residents are craving that, and there is no time or appetite among staff to do it. Their Administrator speaks to people like she is a teacher and you're the student. Very condescending. It's unfortunate. I'd pull my family member out of there immediatly were it not for the COVID-19 crisis.

Only a couple nurses care. Nursing and receptionist ignore patients calls and lie to family. Caught in lies multiple times. With lockdown angry when family calls to check on loved ones. The worst care i ever saw and shoc ked how they have no compassion. Do not use this facility. Horrible

Horrible to say the least. STNA'S are inexperienced from agencies. Majority of nurses are from agencies which is a red flag. St. Josephs seems to have a serious problem keeping staff . Patient is never able to establish a sense of security because they see new faces everyday. Seen too many alarming things at this facility. Felt I had to be there constantly with my loved one. Patients are not kept changed and clean as often that is required. Staff never answers patients call button. This doesn't even put a dent in their issues.

Total care residents receive the worst care. They sit in their chairs for several hours at a time. They are not checked, changed, or toileted every two hours. Management does not address concerns. Rooms are left a mess with dirty gloves, dirty beds, pads and creams left out in the open. The total care residents seem to be an inconvenience to all who work there. Of course there are a few STNAs that provide the best care they can.

I'm living at Saint Joseph Care Center. It's great and the staff is wonderful. They're constantly trying to bring in new things and if we have a complaint we bring it up during our town hall meeting, which is usually handled right away. The food could be a little better. They have a lot of activities like volleyball, seated yoga, a library, and they take us to the bank, the post office, or grocery stores. We play bingo and we have prizes. It's fun and we have a good time. The rooms are fantastic and very nice.

The staff at St Joseph Care Center is extremely friendly and helpful. The grounds are very clean and kept up. The location is inviting and convenient. Mom's room is accommodating for the handicapped but looks very homey, has a well thought out floor plan, and with a nice view. The value is very good for the services that you get. The food is outstanding, too.

We went to St Joseph in Louisville, and that is the one we decided on for my parents. There is at least a six month waiting list though, so we are in limbo waiting. But my mother was impressed that it was a more down to earth, basic, simple type of deal where they didn't have all the fancy say waterfalls or courtyards. Even the pamphlet for facility was just basic information, and there wasn't a really fancy picture on the cover. It was a more down to earth place. It has been there for a long time and well established. My mother and father being Roman Catholic like the idea that they have a Eucharistic service every day at St Joseph. They also have medical staff available. I don't think the numbers are as plentiful as the other facility, but they do have medical staff on hand at all times. That is the one we decided on because it was more affordable for us. In talking to a few of the residents there, it seemed very accommodating. My mother liked it, and that is the main thing. She is more comfortable with them not paying for more overhead than you need to. St Joseph would supply transportation for you at a minimal cost if you wanted to use their transportation to get to a different doctor or yours couldn't visit.
