Nursing Home Communities in Massillon, OH

"My father has been placed for 10 days now, and he is at Rose Lane Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. He is in the memory care lockdown unit. I like that they are well staffed, and the staff are genuine and caring. The facility is very clean, and it does not smell. Every room has its own bathroom, but they also share a community shower. They have activities. My dad is not interested in any activities right now because he is very severe. I've seen an activity calendar, but I haven't seen any activity. My mother has tried the food, and she said it was pretty good. It's a hit or miss, but for the most part, it's good. I was hesitant to take my father there because it has bad reviews. It wasn't until I went and visited that I was very happily surprised by them. I want to make sure that they start getting better reviews because people usually leave negative reviews and they don't leave positive ones. That's why I would like to leave a review because it is a very good facility. "

"I was transfered to this facility from another nearby one and was there 20 days in November and eight days in Dec. of 2022. I was in my room alone which worked out for me very nicely and my great husband was there to visit me each and every day. The whole staff took care of my needs not only with twice a day therapy to make me get stronger with Helen and Mary Jane helping along with others but meds also delivered right on time as I needed them for pain I was in sometimes by charming Taylor or by Cindy or others as everyone came in the room with smiles on their faces and made you feel like you were the most important person there. Meals were delivered three times a day with a variety of choices available delivered by Samantha, Rebecca and Joy that I remember but many staff members were in and out to remember all the names. I also would like to mention Dr. Franz who also checked on me and how I was doing and always had a good and happy attitude . Whenever most all of the staff would come in the room and see my husband there with me, they would offer him coffee which was nice. As a plus also, if he had any questions of my situation or status, they were able to tell him as knew what was going on with me. Melissa was also a help to my husband in answering any questions. I would definitely recommend this facility for needed help for your loved ones."

"My mom went to Aultman Woodlawn Inpatient Rehab. They were amazing. She had a lot of therapies there. For her having just broken her leg, she would get very tired but the therapy was fantastic. They had lots of windows. The rooms were adequate. They had a closet space large enough for visitors and for the patient. There was a person who came and cleaned the patient's room every day. The hallways were always clean. The therapy was way over and beyond what you would expect. It's not only therapy with my mom, but they trained my sister and me how to help her, how to get her in and out of a car, and how to help her when she got home."

"I enjoyed visiting my grandparents at Altercare during their times there. The staff were very friendly and tended well to my grandparents and every one that visited when my grandfather was passing. They had activities my grandmother enjoyed alot. Overall I would recommend Altercare to anyone going to a nursing home. "

"I was a resident for almost 3 weeks for rehab. I was able to leave that fast because of the great Dr's and therapy I recieved. Everyone did a great job,from the administration to housekeeping and kitchen workers. You are treated with respect I will and have told people,friends and professionals,what a great place it is.. Besides the people,the rooms were spacious,visitors could come anytime.variety in meals and activities.. I would have no problem if I had to go back."

"My grandpa was admitted to Aultman Woodlawn after having a hip replacement done at Aultman Hospital. They assured us that this would be the best place for him to go. We were always checking on his because he had a heart condition. He was doing better but we felt the need to come by daily to support him. He was doing very well, except that he kept complaining about his incision being sore. The nurses kept reassuring us that it was fine and just part of the healing process. He continued to complain about it his entire stay there. He was released and ended up back in the hospital the following day due to infection from his incision. He ended up becoming very ill and passing away. It was terrible and sadly could have all been prevented if he was properly taken care of. The physical therapy staff there was great. They helped him get on his feet quickly and seemed to really care about the progress he was making. The nursing staff was the unfortunate part. Hopefully they have been able to get things together since this happened. It's awful to lose someone because of something that could have been prevented. "

"Our family found this facility after my grandmother was a resident of a nursing home that was not providing her with quality care. And we needed to find a suitable facility. When we toured this facility we were instantly convinced that this was the place for our grandmother. It's a small facility so residents receive more personal care. It may not be as modern appearance-wise as some other local facilities. But they treat their patients with love and understanding. After the horrible experience that we had with another nursing home this is a welcome relief. We can relax knowing that our grandmother is in great hands."

"I went there two months ago. My wife's brother stayed there. It was just satisfactory. It's just two big, long hallways. They have double-occupancy rooms, it was basically clean, and the staff was pretty helpful, but it's an old facility. They could improve on personal attentiveness without having to be asked to do things. The food was acceptable for a facility like that."

"My father in law is there. He is 92 years young. Very caring people work there. Excellent communication, attention to all older patients needs. Quick response, regardless of time you ask them. Thank you for all you nice people working there!"

"The size of the room is nice and decent they clean your at least once a day if for any reason something happened and the room needs some cleaning don't hesitate to ask for at the front desk. the front desk are really helpful in anything you need they are amazing. My mother has all kind of activities that keeps her busy and happy. One more thing!!! The food is unbelievable tasty and at the right temperature. Mom had an amazing time by you guys you are amazing thank you thank you thank you."

"Gables of Canton was very good. Everybody there seemed happy. One of our ex-neighbors has been there for about six months and he likes it. Everything was good. The staff was very good. We sat down before we even did a tour. They answered all my son's questions and he was more than satisfied. The rooms they showed me were all studios. They have somewhere two studios that are connected by a door. If a couple wants to move in, they'd each have their own room. They don't have any two bedrooms like some of the other ones do. People were sitting around in the eating area. We weren't right there at lunchtime but they were sitting around, talking and they have an activity room with games and stuff in it. They have a beauty salon. We saw a library and a courtyard. We did not try the meal, but they have a certain soup of the week, they have a salad of the week and then they have an entree every day. If you don't want what they have, you can order anything you want."

"I was in a bad motorcycle accident, and spent 3weeks at country lawn for rehab. It was a very clean. I was treated very good, the staff was always friendly. They treated me for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. They came in my room every day and ask me what i wanted to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have nothing but respect for country lawn nursing home..."

"I plan to move into Canton Christian Home. I liked the facilities very much, and the people there were very nice. I know a couple of people who are there already, and this facility will meet my needs. The one that I'm getting is a one-bedroom apartment and that's what I wanted. They had quite a few meeting rooms. The lobbies were very friendly. You could participate in any activity that you might want to do. They will provide meals if you don't want to cook."

"when i visited the nursing home the patients were clean and seemed happy they a TV room. The nurses aids seemed caring and answered calls right away the nurse was very helpful. The place was very clean some of the food that i saw did not look to good but i noticed most patients ate it. the added wing was very nice colorful some rooms seemed a little dark but overall it had a cheerful feeling the outside of the nursing home was well maintained but i noticed they needed more places for patients to be able to enjoy the outdoors. Most of the nurses aides seemed to generally care for the patients i noticed some joking with them and going out of their way helping them. i really felt sorry for some patients who looked like they just sat in a chair no tv on all alone "
