My brother was taken to Altercare around May first 2025. During his stay, he lost over 40 lbs in 6 weeks. They lost his upper dentures and he had a hard time eating. He is paralized on his left side and only has one hand to eat with. Nobody helped him eat at all. There were times we would go to visit and find him covered in dried food from him trying to feed himself the day before. It got so bad we had him taken to Mercy Hospital where he was diagnosed as dehydrated, imaciated, had a raging UTI and Neumonia. They were appalled at his condition! He spent 3 days in Mercy then was taken to a much better facility.

I would not even give one star. My husband was in rehab and was given the wrong dose of medication and double the medication. The Spike for IV medication was left hanging to open air and reused. Urinal was left on floor with urine in it and I walked into it the next morning, was not emptied so my husband did not have one available to use. Staff complains that they are short handed.

My father just spent time In the rehab section and the only good thing I can say about that stay for my father was an aid named Susan.. She went above and beyond and showed true compassion to the patients! The lack of communication between family members and staff , Staff and patients , And staff with other staff is astounding, The basic care was sub par to say the least. Seems it was just easier to leave a person in the bed and hope for the best. Our dad has been thriving and making great progress since leaving Your facility , He now gets the care he needed and deserves.

My father was here in 2023. I definitely do not recommend. Staff while friendly enough took forever to answer call lights didn't get him out of bed or dress him at all some days left him with food on his face and then after being sent to the hospital for a couple days he returned to find his room was moved to another with no phone, despite insurance still paying for the larger room. I could go on but ultimately is a no from me.

Altercare was adequate for rehabilitation. The rooms were nice; the cleanliness was very good.

I enjoyed visiting my grandparents at Altercare during their times there. The staff were very friendly and tended well to my grandparents and every one that visited when my grandfather was passing. They had activities my grandmother enjoyed alot. Overall I would recommend Altercare to anyone going to a nursing home.
