Mom is doing therapy at Astoria Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. She seems to like it there. I just talked to the therapist, and she got some issues that need to be addressed. She's having a hard time wanting to stand up for a long period of time. They do memory care there. They do speech therapy and physical therapy. It's kind of hard to do a lot of things with her right arm, so they're doing things like cooking, seeing what she can do on the stove with that one arm. They have a lot of different activities there. They have church, bingo, and a beauty salon where they do your hair and nails. They make them feel like they're at home. She's very happy. It seems like a pleasant place to be. They make sure they have things there for them to do. They allow them to go out. They have two patios out there for golfing. They pretty much have the freedom. The other ones have to be supervised, then they have to get the OK from the nurse. I have not sampled or tried the food. My mom complained a lot about the food not tasting good. She said a couple of other residents there were having issues, but they've been there for years, and they're used to it. My mom always asked me to bring something to eat. I noticed that a lot of the residents there, their family brings them food as well. The food looks OK. They might need another person to come in and cook stuff that the residents might want to eat. She said that they're starting to get better with the food. Yesterday, she said she ate the lunch and the dinner. Everything looks pretty good there. I'm happy my mom is at that facility. The nurses there are polite and kind. When you come in there, they ask you questions. I just had the physical therapist call me and give me my mom's update on everything that's going on. I really don't have any problem with anybody else there. They seem to be doing their job 100%. I give them a thumbs up with that. They're pretty good with her medication. If she needs help, they come in there and help her. I've never seen anything other than that. I don't see any problem with any cleaning or anything like that. When I walked in that door, it smelled presentable. They clean the floor and the tables, and pretty much every activity room is cleaned up. They have a lot of activities. When my mom first went, they had a lady who came around and asked what my mom liked, what she didn't like, and what she would like to be called. They're really courteous, polite, and respectful. They make them feel at home. I think she's getting her money's worth, and she's getting the care that she needs. They're doing what they need to do to make her better, to be able to function.

This facility has the potential to be a very good place to work and to rehab. However, there is very minimal staff and the staff that is in there does nothing but sit, text, watch movies on their phones and use their personal computers. There is dirty linen in the rooms and on the floor. The food is cold and bland.

I was a resident for almost 3 weeks for rehab. I was able to leave that fast because of the great Dr's and therapy I recieved. Everyone did a great job, from the administration to housekeeping and kitchen workers. You are treated with respect I will and have told people, friends and professionals, what a great place it is.. Besides the people, the rooms were spacious, visitors could come anytime.variety in meals and activities.. I would have no problem if I had to go back.

First of all I just want to warn anyone who puts a family member in this facility that if your loved one needs any assistance with activities of daily living their not going to receive it. My dad was there back in April of 2018. Within 3 days he fell out of bed. He had arrived with pressure sores on his behind and foot. They only got worse while he was there. He had a feeding tube but had to wait sometimes 6 or more hours between feeds. All of this was brought to managements attention. Still nothing was done. To make sure he was getting quality care my sister and I took turns spending 24 hours with him. The list goes on. so please be very cautious of this facility.

I was not happy with this facility, they did not have enough help, the help they did have was worked to death, food was usually cold, the administration would not listen to your conplaints, just didnt care, moved my mother and took her to a much nicer one, she is happy there!! Would not recommend this facility !!!! Rooms were small, the staff was nice , a few of them were lazy, they went through staff to much, nobody stayed!

I've searched for suitable nursing homes in many areas, and Astoria is by far the nicest, cleanest, and friendliest nursing home I've ever been to. The staff is always smiling and ready to help the residents and the visitors. The activities are always engaging and fun. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere in the dining room is always pleasant and relaxing. I highly recommend Astoria to anyone who is looking for a caring place to take care of their loved ones.

I visited many nursing homes before we placed my mom in Astoria, .. I have never regretted choosing this facility. It is a beautiful place with a wonderful and caring staff. The rehab team was great and I can't say enough about the activity ladies, their awesome! I take my hat off to all the nurses and aides. They have a very difficult job and they do it with compassion and respect..

Astoria is beautiful. The rooms are huge with private bathroom and shower. So much food, noone can go hungry. Therapy helped meet my friends goals. She especially loved the putting green and slot machine. They had him walking in no time. Never a full moment with activities, especially loved happy hour. Nurses were quick to help including getting a hot blanket whenever asked. I recommend Astoria to anyone!

We visited Astoria for my great-aunt. It was beautiful, very nice, and clean. It seemed like it would be a good place for her. The rooms were very nice but weren’t as big as the ones in another facility, yet still very acceptable.

I didn’t care for Astoria Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation. We didn’t choose it because it was noisy but the location was good.

Astoria Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation was not a nice place. I was not impressed with it at all. They did not help my friend. They did not seem very competent to me. I would never recommend it to anybody.
