"Bel Air Senior Living Community is nice. I've had a couple things that I brought up to the people in charge, just different stuff about other residents, but overall it's a nice facility. I can't complain. I went to a couple other ones and they weren't like this. I still think that they need to do some improvement at this place though, but the staff is wonderful. Overworked, but wonderful. My brother's room is small. He's got enough to fit his bed, a small table, and his recliner. Then he has his own bathroom. He has a little patio porch that he can step out onto, and then they have the outside area for smoking, but I believe that it should be a covered area because it snows here in Ohio. There's stuff that happens all the time. It doesn't have to be enclosed or anything, but at least have some kind of a roof over the top of their heads; even if it was just like a tent type area or something like that. I like the place, I do. The room is again a little small, and he's got a small little kitchenette in his room. He doesn't do any cooking, so I kind of look at it as kind of part of the assisted living, but I think it's sad how much they charge for any of these places. They provide his meals. They have people that come around and try to get everybody involved, which I'm happy about, because they've actually gotten my brother to be involved in some of their stuff. I didn't think he was going to, but he actually has. They take them out, they go to Walmart, and they go to different places to eat. They have bingo and different games and stuff that they play with the activity people. They are just excellent."

"I stayed at Canterbury-Villa for a shrt term rehab program. I can't say enough goo things about their rehab and their care. Everyone was so helpful and knew my main goal was to get home. We all worked toward that. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly and everyone went out of there way to help. there was always something going on with the activities dept. too They have a cute little coffee shop that you could go and visit with your families and even have lunch in. I would def recommend this facility again. No complaints."

"We have placed my father-in-law in Altercare of Alliance Center for Rehab & Nursing Care. They have a unit for dementia and keep the residents busy during the day with crafts and singing. The staff is prompt to come to us and getting him whatever it is he needs. He is using the staff physician at the facility. He gets all three meals there, too. I would recommend them for anyone who has a loved one with some dementia issues. "

"We are choosing Copeland Oaks for my dad. We liked it because it wasn't like a nursing home. It was very clean and they had the spacious rooms that we were looking for. They had a lot to offer out there. It's like a campus with many acres of land. They had a pond and stuff, and you could ride around on your scooter. Overall, it was just a nice place. The 1-bedroom apartment had a dorm-like kitchen that had a dorm-size refrigerator and a microwave. They give you one price, and that covers everything including 2 meals a day. The staff who assisted us with the tour was very knowledgeable and very friendly. She answered all of our questions."

"It was the first nursing home I had seen. The place was dirty and it smelled. The carpet was stained and when you walked down the hall, there were stains on the floor. It didn't look clean. The rooms were really small. The staff was mean. I wouldn't want to be there. "

"I was at St Joe’s for 7 weeks for PT and OT following ankle surgery. 99% of staff helpful, patient-oriented, responsive, and respectful. One nighttime aide may have been in the industry a bit too long, but since I slept during her shift, no biggie. PT and OT therapists outstanding, personable, effective- Faith- a dynamo. Wish I could remember the names of OT guy & other PT woman. All figured prominently during my stay."

"My mother is at Auburn Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation. She has been there for two months now. It's a smaller facility. They have good nurses there, and the physical therapy is working fine for her because she has gained some strength back and she can do different things. I'm not there with my mother all the time, but regarding activities, I know she has her therapy every morning and they do bingo a couple of times a week. I have been there with her on a few meals, and their food looks like a balanced meal. They have a therapy room and a salon, other than that, I have not asked what's available there."

"My husband has been in Altercare for 3 weeks. It’s a lovely place, and everybody is very friendly. The residents get to know each other, so it’s very community-oriented. I think it’s a good fit for him. The staff is very helpful. They anticipate what you need, and they come and check on you all the time. They adopt these people so they’re all very nice to each other. He’s in a very nice and big shared room. I haven’t eaten there, but my husband doesn’t complain, and he’s a big eater. The dining area is very well decorated, very clean, spacious, and has windows. They have enough aides to help people to eat, and none of that is a problem. They bring in different foods once a week so they’re eating like a hamburger and fries from their favorite fast food restaurant, and they have fun with that. They also do excursions out and look at things or go to a concert, and you can join in that if you want to. "

"My mom is a resident of Windsor Medical Center. She moved from skilled nursing to assisted living, and she has her apartment now and is very content there. The staff is very friendly and caring to all the patients. The facility is clean, bright, and cheery, and the food is good. The activities that they have are unbelievable, as they have so much going on to keep the residents occupied and busy. If they don't want to go to the dining restaurant where they're being served, they order off a menu. If they don't want to have what the chef has prepared for the day, they can, and it's cooked when they're there. It's not pre-prepared. If you're not feeling well, they'll bring it to their room at no extra charge. She's been very happy with the activities she's been to. They have happy hour twice a week. They have bingo. They play Uno. They have blackjack, and they have auctions. They bake and put together the ingredients to make bread, and the activities take it to the kitchen and have it prepared, and it's served to the residents the next day, for what they've made, or even if they cook for them. They give prizes during their happy hour. Last night, I was there, and a man came in and played the piano for Mother's Day. They had Mother's Day tea and served scones and finger sandwiches. They made silk corsages for everyone, which were very well done, professional, and impressive."

"Why did I take my husband to Great Trail Care Center? Because he has congestive heart failure and he is a diabetic and needed special care at that time. We had no problem at all. They were very fine nurses, some were LPNs, but they did a very fine job. They took very good care of him. "

"Blossom Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is very clean. The nurses are very attentive and I had no bad thing to say about them. Everything's been just fine. Everybody's friendly and all. My wife's room is very nice. If I want to bring in a small refrigerator or chairs, couches, or whatever to make her feel comfortable, they allow all of that. So, her room is nice. The food part is hospitalish, but it's OK. She eats it and the dining area is very clean and well-kept. So far, every one of them I've run into with anything is great. They listen and they've taken great care of her."

"I was at Bethany for rehab for a month. I heard about the high ratings of Bethany and wanted to be there. They lived up to their excellent ratings! The room was comfortable, the food delicious, the physical therapists were a dedicated and knowledgeable group, the nurses were wonderful and kind and helpful and knowledgeable, helped me with all kinds of problems, the aides were helpful and kind. I did not want to leave!!! Everyone I encountered, the cleaning people, the laundry people, hair stylist, were so helpful and kind and took their time to talk and make me feel at home. I would give Bethany a superior rating. Potential residents would be well cared for if they came to Bethany, I know I was!"

"My father has been in the care of Glenwood for almost 2 years. He has gone from Long-term to assisted living. His favorite part is the connections he has built with the nursing team, activities director, social worker and the ADON! Our first experience was with eh Admissions Director and she helped us through a stressful time in finding a facility a couple years ago. My Dad has a lot of autonomy and the staff goes above and beyond both socially and medically to make sure he is comfortable. I live out of state and the communication from Glenwood to handle challenges and give me updates on my father is always quick and detailed. They really treat him like family. I highly recommend Glenwood!"

"My cousin moved into Saint Luke Lutheran Home. He has a much bigger room here than in the other facility. It is a very nice-sized single room. And, the cost is significantly about $2,000 a month less than the four or five other facilities I checked into. And that's why he left where he was. That's a significant amount. And the care, it's got a good doctor. The doctor sees him every couple of weeks. They have a staff doctor. They have a good number of permanent nurses and aides. They use some agency people, but they're working to keep everything going. There's been no missed care that I know of. There's the availability of nurses stations. There are at least three nurses stations in the skilled area. So, a good number of staff are always available. They have just recently converted from an agency therapy department to an in-house one, which seems to be more responsive. They have an in-house duty barber. They wash all the clothes. They will serve all three meals a day in his room if he wants. They have an activity person who monitors each person's activity to see that you can keep them active in some way or socializing in some form."

"I plan to move into Canton Christian Home. I liked the facilities very much, and the people there were very nice. I know a couple of people who are there already, and this facility will meet my needs. The one that I'm getting is a one-bedroom apartment and that's what I wanted. They had quite a few meeting rooms. The lobbies were very friendly. You could participate in any activity that you might want to do. They will provide meals if you don't want to cook."
