"Mom was at Highland Nursing and Rehab for a couple of weeks. This was 10 minutes away from my house. We took a tour on the facility and we liked it that's why we chose it for mom. It’s a small rehab center and there weren’t many patients and that was nice. The place was clean. They had bingo in the evening and they have trips that would take the residents. The rehab center was small and I wouldn’t go to rehab there because they were limited. Mom said the food was okay, but mom is very picky about her food. I think they need to improve on their food and more activities, maybe. "

"The overall impression when you first enter is very unimpressive. The facility is very untidy and has a foul odor. Patients are under supervised, based on the volume of falls that occur on a monthly basis. The staff are uninformed. They have no idea of a resident's past medical history or what needs they would need to help them. They are not trained in emergency first response to save a life until an ambulance arrives. I have experienced many instances of what I believe is negligence from staff members. "

"Very good OT and physical therapy department. I was there a month while recovering from injuries. They have nice activities for their residents. "

"My mom was at Miller's Merry Manor. It's beautiful and nice. The rooms were good. They were clean and kept up. The staff members were very caring. They helped my mom and everything she needed to do. They assisted her. They were very kind and very respectful. They offered her rehabilitation, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. They fed her three times a day. They played games, and they took them outside. The food looked good."

"i'm very happy to be in this facility. they take such good care of us and the rest of the residents. they show us the kindness and care and loving attention. therer therepy department is number one. there activities department is also wonderful also so many different things to do and we go out on outings so much fun. i'm so glad that my friend refered me to come here. i'm getting the care and therepy that i need, and i couldn't ask for a better facility then this nursing home. thank you so much golden living fountainview nursing home. "Lincolnshire is an amazing facility with a lot to offer. I am impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the perky and polite staff. The location is also convenient and easy to get to. "

"I have visited The Legacy part of Spring Mill in Merrillville, it's a separate building but still part of Spring Mill. My brother-in-law will move there from the hospital he's currently in. We were only there for about 10 minutes to sign papers and stuff but it was really nice. Everybody that walked past said hello. It didn't smell, that's one of the things that are on our radar. It seemed very clean and it seemed to be very nice. The director of The Legacy, her name's Cindy, she's very very nice. She's helped us through a couple of situations. We saw activities happening while we were there but we have not seen his actual room yet because of the COVID."

"Munster Med Inn is the one we took a tour of. It was fine. It looked clean, and they were very helpful, but we ran into a Medicaid problem, so we can't get my mother-in-law in right now. The rooms seemed small, and she would have shared a room with another person. They had a dementia unit too, so that would have been good. "

"I had my husband in for a rehab stay and the staff were outstanding. From the moment we walked in and met with Admissions and the Director of Nursing, we felt at ease and welcome. A very professionally run home that was clean and friendly. "

"I liked the Sheffield Manor. I think it was a smaller facility, but they had full apartments, and they were either one or two bedrooms. The other thing that I liked about it was that it had one price for a level of care, and I really liked that. They did allow an animal. I thought it was very, very clean and the staff was very nice to my sister-in-law. The only negative I would have about it is that the hallways werea little long to get to a particular activity place, but she would have had a hoveround to get to places. I thought they had about the right amount of activity. They have a theater and a beauty shop. I thought the price was very reasonable plus it was month to month. I didn't have to put in an initial fee to go there. I liked this place. I thought the apartment was so nice, and the closet space was wonderful. "

"My mom had fallen and fractured her hip, she had surgery, and so we decided to put her in Symphony of Dyer for more rehab. It was pretty good, but my mom didn't last there long. She passed away, but the short amount of time that she was there, it was satisfactory. The staff was friendly and available. My mom had to have the pureed food. The place was very nice and clean. The outside looked very nice. I liked the way it was. It was a good location because we had one sister that lived close to Dyer. It was a nice area."

"The Hammond-whiting Care Center is a very clean place that has a very active atmosphere. The person with whom I visited was happy and her room was clean.I stayed with my friend for a good part of her day and I observed that the Hammond-Whiting Care Center has a very friendly staff, happy and vibrant seniors who participate in many activities,and nutritious and hearty meals. Overall this place gets the thumbs up!!! "

"The staff was incredible; they really cared about my grandfather and my family. They made sure that my grandmother could spend as much time as she wanted with him, and also made sure that she had food to take her insulin with every day. The staff was very alert and aware of changes in my grandfather's condition and was proactive in treating even the slightest symptom. When he began to receive hospice care at the facility, the staff seemed just as moved emotionally as we were. The facility is also well kept and extremely clean. We were very lucky to find Tri-state, as there were not many facilities in the area that had good ratings from the state. "
