"I visited a friend in Cantata Adult Life Services in Brookfield. It was called The British Home. He is in assisted living. He is completely handicapped. It's wonderful. They have bus service available. They seem to give him very good care. I believe the cost there is a little more than I can afford. He's a little better off money wise than I am. The meals are quite good. He doesn't complain. They even give them extra bacon when he likes it. He's very happy with the meals, and they seem quite nice when I was there. I didn't eat there, but he's very happy with them. It's a very clean facility and it has been around forever. It's a very nice facility. It's an older facility (at least the original part). They have activities for the residents. They have a gym, and they have sponsored outings. He's very happy there. It's always been an excellent facility. The staff members were very nice when I visited him. The only thing he doesn't like is that they follow his diet, and they won't give him sweets. He doesn't really partake on activities because he is kind of a loner. They basically get him out of bed, and they wheel him. He sits out in the dayroom. As far as group activities, he doesn't partake of that. It's not his thing."

"The rooms, activities, and food at Franciscan Village seem fine. The staff seems to take a little while to become familiar with what a resident’s needs are. I was expecting them to be a lot quicker as far as knowing what my mom’s condition is and how they can help her. We just went to the facility yesterday and had a big meeting with their other department heads, and they seem to be doing a lot better now. They seem responsive to our needs and concerns.   Sometimes it seems like the staff is a little late on the night shift.  She usually needs help in the early morning hours and they are kind of on the short staff side. They have church service every day, and they have all the usual games and activities like card games and bingo. They have plenty of things to keep the residents active. The property and the location are perfect and the grounds are beautiful. The food is great. She has not had any complaints about it. "

"I came across Greenwood Care because of a family member. I have my regular apartment here. During mealtime, everybody sits down upstairs, gets a card, the staff call them up in line to get their meal and they sit back down. The food is good. But, they don't have a common dining room. The care staff is really good. There are some issues on some days but not really often. There are some issues with safety that they can improve on. "

"I received horrible treatment and witnessed horrible treatment of many others. The bed linen was never changed after repeated requests. Several requests were made for food but the CNA never put in the request and when asked they never apologized or tried to rectify the situation. In fact my source of food was brought in by a friend EVERDAY, otherwise my survival and strength would not have happened so quickly. The nurses station would never answer calls. God forbid you had a medical situation on the weekend because there was hardly any staff there to help.I never received help to the Restroom. I was never taken to the showeroom. The bed linen was never changed after repeated requests. The bugs there were rampant. I was left in the room with a man covered in feces for two days.My laundry had to be taken home by a friend to be washed just so I could have clean clothes. Again I requested my laundry be washed but it was NEVER picked up. The employees with talk loudly and slam doors throughout the night, so therefore I never slept. I had to report this place to the Board of heath and I would hope that everyone who was either there or had family members there report them. This kind of treatment MUST STOP! "

"she smeemed to like it. it looked clean and well kept. for a nursing home it was okay. the decor was very boring and if i was there everyday i would go crazy. over all it was pretty good. "

"We looked at Westminster Place. The staff member was very kind. She showed us a lot of very nice things, although it was very limiting because of COVID. We saw one of the apartments, we saw an outdoor sort of gathering area, and we saw a dining room, but it was not currently being utilized. We saw their general walking area and a couple of their apartments. The layouts were fine. It's an older facility, so the apartments were smaller than some of the other places that we had seen. However, they were very well kept. If my friend were to choose an apartment there, they would take some time and re-do it and add things to it that she wanted. That was very nice. There isn't a lot of storage for things, but there are good-sized closets for some storage. Some places have an out of apartment in the basement sort of storage for things like Christmas things and that kind of stuff, but they don't have anything like that at Westminster. Westminster Place has a lot of nice amenities, and they do a nice job of working with their clients. It's a nice place. The only person that we dealt with at all was the woman who gave us the tour and she was lovely. She was a very nice lady."

"When I had to make the difficult decision to move my dad into a long term care facility, I made sure to do my research. I visited several places and walked out extremely sad until I found Dobson Plaza. The moment I walked in and met with Cathy and Charlotte I knew my decision was made. This was the best decision I could have made for my dad. Everyone at Dobson no matter their position are so caring and friendly. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like everyone is family. In addition, it is kept extremely clean. Most importantly, the care, love and respect that was given to my dad was incredible. Although I was lucky to be able to visit everyday, I knew when I was not there he was being treated well. The staff is by far the most caring and capable caretakers. It is extremely unusual that even the Director of Nursing knows everyone by name and checks on every resident on a daily basis. Not only was my dad treated like family, I truly felt like they were my family as well. I was blessed to have my dad's end of life be in such a caring environment."

"My experience was really good. The staff is very welcoming and nice. Although sometimes it feels there should be more employees helping out the residents. There are many times my aunt needs something and they take quite some time to respond. They have valet parking which is something I thought was very convenient. The quality of the workers is great. Everyone is always so friendly. There are 3 floors I believe but the building itself is not too big and quite small in my opinion. It is also a very clean and neat place. The washrooms are always clean and never dirty. I have been to other facilities but I really like this one. "

"My friend is in Alden Estates of Evanston. She is getting better. She does have some complaints with the place. Some of the night staff is not as pleasant as she feels that they should be, but she is getting the therapy, and she's moving along a lot faster than I thought she would. She also had a urinary tract infection, and that definitely affected her balance and her thinking. She was like a totally different person, but she's back to her old self now. The food is good. She's happy with it. There are two beds in the room, but there's no one in the other bed. There's small little things, like the TV wasn't working for the first couple of days. Also she was not too happy with some of the nighttime staff. The entire place has been remodeled within the last eight years, but they're all gone now. They have a beautiful dining facility, but because of COVID, they're still all eating in their room. The nursing staff is good. They have been working with me and they're doing anything I ask for them. Many times, she doesn't really speak up too much, so I'm doing the speaking for her. Overall, the actual nursing staff is good. They're not the best, but they're good. The facility is clean. They have a hair salon in there as well as a lot of social activities that go on. She doesn't participate too much in that, but they have them. The main floor is beautifully done. It's a very nice place to sit and chat. They have two outdoor patios, which today is beautiful to have."

"My family needed to place my father into a nursing home. He had lost a leg up to the knee due to gangreen and was growing increasingly violent and angry at home. It came to the point where he was a danger to himself and others. His doctor recommended Clark Mannor and overall we are all pleased with the facility. The staff is very professional and well trained. They are capable of handling my father just fine and he has not had any angry outbursts since he was placed there. The place is kept clean and he is taken to all his doctor's appointments by the staff there. He even gets a small allowance to spend as he pleases. The staff was also incredibly helpful about taking care of the monthly payments. He had been paying the house payments and the social worker there helped my mother set up the nessessary paperwork for the spousal inprovishment act. This way he was still able to pay the house payments every month and stay there. "

"My aunt just left Buckingham Pavilion after a short stay for some rehab. I cant thank Buckingham and their staff enough for helping her get better so quickly. The accommodations were great and everyone was so polite."

"This facility located on the northwest side of chicago accepts residents who have been diagnoised with a mental illness, and who are in need of skilled care. They also accept individuals who have been diagnoised with Dementia and Alzeheimers disease. The bed hold here is 200, and one of the common areas are the dinning area. While there I noticed how the residents were communicating with one another as well as the staff, it was refreshing to see to see the positive energy amongst all. In general, I would rank this facility a 4 out of 5 stars. "

"We liked the atmosphere at the Arbour Health Care facility right away. It looked friendly, clean and organized. The staff was congenial and the residents looked happy. The location is convenient to all city transportation which was a factor for us, as many of my aunt's family live near or in the city. We can all visit her easily and at all times of the day, which is nice. We were impressed with the variety of activities, such as the lounge, entertainment like movies, special parties, ice cream socials and table games. Our aunt is particularly fond of bingo, so she liked that they have that regularly. The staff also accompanies residents who are interested to local shopping and dining destinations. Chicago has so much to offer, that they are never out of places to visit. They also have convenient barber and salon services which we all liked. The grounds were well kept, with lots of outside areas to enjoy, with park-like greenery, benches and ample seating. There were a variety of types of residents, from those on walkers to those in wheelchairs and most were ambulatory, so they can accommodate anyone, including those with dementia issues. The food we tried was delicious and nutritious, with a nice variety of foods to choose from. This is definitely a facility we are strongly considering for our aunt's needs. "
