" My 86 year old mother has been a resident of Concord Place for 4 1/2 years, so we have had a long time to decide if it was a good decision. I can say without a doubt that it was! Concord Place is a comprehensive Retirement Community for seniors in many stages of life from fully independent residents to those with physical and mental disabilities. Staff turnover is very low, which is an indication of satisfied employees and good management. The many CNA's who provide 24 hour a day oversight have been not only skillful and professional, but also patient, friendly and kind - so much so, that I now look forward to seeing them as much as I do my Mom when I come to visit. The professional on sight nursing, medical and physical therapy staff are all excellent. They care not only for the residents, but also for the residents families during what can be a stressful transition. I have always felt that my concerns as the child of a resident have been heard, respected and addressed. The building itself is well maintained and clean, and the meals are nutritious, tasty and varied. On Sunday a free breakfast is offered for all visitors to encourage family and friends to visit the residents. There are so many activities that it is difficult to decide what to do each day. Yesterday, there was an excellent men's choir that visited and entertained the residents with oldies sung with with and passion. There are no words to express how much contentment Concord Place has given to my Mom and the family. "

"I have been at Sedgebrook for 7 years and I am completely happy living here. I love the 24 hour per day security. The food is quite good. They have 2 restaurants one casual which is partially self service and the other is white tablecloth and is full service. Sedgebrook has more than enough events daily to keep the residents as busy as they wish everyday of the week. They keep the lobby and hallways cleaned daily by much of their own efficient staff. During the COVID panademic they did everything to keep us safe and to this day and come to our door once a week to give us a PCR test which I think is just great!"

"We had an in-person tour and it was very nice. The people seemed more of my cousin's age group. We thought the facility was way too large. They had a salon, an exercise room, and tons of activities. The facility was very clean. It seemed like they had a nice-sized room, but everything was in that one room. So, your bed was in the same room as your couch and TV. People were allowed to bring in their own furniture."

"I loved Franciscan Village, but they didn’t have any availability. I would give it a high rating. The cleanliness was fantastic. I liked the pretty layout. "

"We have put down our deposit at Mather at downtown Evanston. From here we can either walk to the bank, doctor's office, library, and the grocery store. They have a lot of activities that are basically the same things. They do have something scheduled every day, and many of the things I like to do but not everything. Mather is a continuing care community. After we began to understand what was out there, we decided that we needed a continuing care community. This particular place is very close to where we have been living and close to a lot of public transportation. We have several friends that live at the Mather. We had lunch with a friend there. It was pretty good, and they have a lot of places available. There is food available at every meal but we have options. The rooms seem fairly big and pleasant. "

"We looked at the Presbyterian Homes Westminster Place. There was a hospital on the grounds, which was nice. The staff was very professional. They were very friendly, and they showed us the whole place. They had little cottages. They had a bus that took residents to different places. "

"My mom is at The Admiral at the Lake. It is very good. What I like about it is that it doesn't have the 'nursing home' feel to it. It is more of a residential place even though my mom is in a skilled nursing. They have very good staff. The food is outstanding. The whole setup is actually the best. "

"Staff is great and helpful with arranging care and transportation of necessary. Transition from rehab after hospital stay to Assisted living was very smooth. Entire building is being updated and remodeled. Park is across the street. Shopping and food a few blocks away. "

"This facility is located on the north side of chicago it serves a population of adults who have been diagnoised with a developmental disability. They only provide services to female residents. While there I noticed some of the residents were sharing a room. They have a full clinical staff that provides services to the residents 24 hrs a day. the meals are prepared by the staff, and on special occassions and when doing food activites, the staff will allow the residents to assist in the preparation of the meals. The facility is clean, and well-maintained. The staff is very hands on, and the residents seem to have a closeness with one another. In general, I would rank this facility a 4 out of 5 stars. "

"Everybody seemed very nice at Central Baptist. We ended up spending a lot of time talking to the residents. The rooms are very small but adequate. The dining area was clean, and the tables were nicely set. My aunt is on the waiting list for this place. "

"Covenant Living of Northbrook was very nice and we had a very nice tour. We saw the dining area and one of the rooms. They have a community room and they were singing in there. They also have an exercise area/gym where you could do physical therapy. We saw people walking around. The staff was very good and you could tell they took very good care of the people. It was also very clean."

"We visited the Moorings, and it was very beautiful, but the way that they get their buy-in almost priced my mom out right away. It was very nice. She would have been happier because it was just so pretty, but it was a smaller community. I really like the grounds and the outside area. It just was very quiet, serene. It had a very comfortable, relaxing feel. The rooms were beautiful. The staff was very bright and willing to share the different activities with us. "

"Plymouth Place was extremely nice. I cannot say anything bad about it. The people all looked happy and prosperous. The apartments were spacious and nice. The food and the activities were both very good. They did not have a swimming pool. "
