We've toured Westminster Place, and the experience was all positive. They just opened, that was the first open house that they did so a lot of their services were not in place yet. During the open house, the facility was very nice and the food they served was excellent. From what I saw, the environment was beautiful. I saw the independent living area and the grounds, and they were all very nice, they're well-established and got excellent physical therapy services. They have a great exercise facility with machines and a great physiotherapist there. They've got a lot to offer. The one person that I met and worked with, I would rate her top-notch. I only saw one independent apartment, which was a studio. They have arts and crafts, lectures, and all kinds of activities for the people.

We looked at Westminster Place. The staff member was very kind. She showed us a lot of very nice things, although it was very limiting because of COVID. We saw one of the apartments, we saw an outdoor sort of gathering area, and we saw a dining room, but it was not currently being utilized. We saw their general walking area and a couple of their apartments. The layouts were fine. It's an older facility, so the apartments were smaller than some of the other places that we had seen. However, they were very well kept. If my friend were to choose an apartment there, they would take some time and re-do it and add things to it that she wanted. That was very nice. There isn't a lot of storage for things, but there are good-sized closets for some storage. Some places have an out of apartment in the basement sort of storage for things like Christmas things and that kind of stuff, but they don't have anything like that at Westminster. Westminster Place has a lot of nice amenities, and they do a nice job of working with their clients. It's a nice place. The only person that we dealt with at all was the woman who gave us the tour and she was lovely. She was a very nice lady.

Westminster Place was very nice and large and I think it will meet my needs. They have underground walkways for the weather, but some of the buildings are far apart. You do have to park outside most of the time though. I'm going to move in probably in a couple weeks. The staff is fine, answer my questions, very clear about things, and they understand what it's like for me to try to get everything to move there. Tthe people I've met there seemed to be very nice. The rooms are fine and I think they have enough amenities like exercise and art areas, and they're interested in the same things I'm interested in so I think it's going to be okay. The meal I tried with them was fine.

Westminster Place was excellent. The dining area is open, wide, bright, light, and the menus looked nice. The staff was overly friendly and took us all around to the different facilities, to the assisted, independent, and nursing care section which were all very nice.

Westminster Place is very nice and homey. It is very big, and it has both assisted, independent, and nursing homes all in the same building. It is all connected underground, so that if one was in one end and one was in another end and it is snowing outside, you don't have to go outside. They also have a pool, a theater, a hairdresser, and a doctor's office, which is quite a big thing. The rooms looked small, but the apartment rooms looked bigger. I like one of the apartments. I like its layout. The bedroom was big enough for my mom's hospital bed plus my dad's bed, but the bathroom was too small to accommodate a wheelchair. It was supposed to be independent, so I get it. The staff was amazing. There was a lady who came in on her day off and waited for me. She did paperwork in her office to wait for me because I was coming from 4 hours away. She didn't know what time I would arrive, but she was there when I got there. She showed me around the whole place. She didn't have to do that because we didn't have an appointment. She introduced us to other staff members who stopped what they were doing and answered questions. They were very nice. They were willing to talk about combined independence. The size issues with the room is my only biggest complaint; otherwise ,I think it's phenomenal.

There are too many parked cars that spoil the appearance of the grounds. The indoor facilities are excellent.

I've lived in Presbyterian Homes for the past six years. I have a nice apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We have gone through about four managers, and we have not had any active activities for at least a year now.

We looked at the Presbyterian Homes Westminster Place. There was a hospital on the grounds, which was nice. The staff was very professional. They were very friendly, and they showed us the whole place. They had little cottages. They had a bus that took residents to different places.

Westminster Place is an excellent place. It's perfect for people like if they need more care, they can advance there. It's a very well-thought organization. The only problem is it's very expensive, so it's ideal if you have the money. The rooms were very clean and very neat. The staff was very professional. We were at the dining room right before lunch and it seemed like the staff was very helpful to the residents. If your parents are living alone and you wanted to have no worries, this facility would take care of everything for you. However, it's a la carte. You have to pay for every service that you need. I think ideally it's the best place I've seen.

I am living in Westminster and I am very happy here. I have two rooms, one room where I watch television and the one where I sleep. I also have a kitchenette. We've get movies two or three times a week. We've got discussion groups. There is large pool and a big an athletic center because there are a lot of bicycles and rowing machines and there are numbers of people who use it. There is also a warm water pool where you can exercise in it. The food is very generous and good. In fact one has to watch carefully so as not to over eat. They also have a place here for people who lost their memory and they are well cared for.

I love it here. It's a beautiful, 40-acre campus with lots of flowers and trees. We do everything under the sun. We have more activities than we can do. I'm in a townhouse, and it's like home. We have as many staff as we have residents. We have a lovely dining room with wonderful meals, but I usually cook my own food. My mother had lived here many years ago and she loved it here, so I didn't look anywhere else. I figured if she was happy, I would be happy. I've been here for 12 years now.

A good friend from church was admitted here recently and I was given the opportunity to visit her with some of her family members. When I got there, she was in the middle of a health checkup by one of the licensed nurses. After that, we went to her room to pray, chat and catch up. I was there for about an hour and during that time, two staff members came in to check on her. The staff seemed pretty attentive and friendly. Her room was a bit small, but she seemed comfortable. In general, this place seemed like a good home with eager staff members and nurses.

We visited the Highlands of Evanston assisted living facility while searching for a place for our aunt to live in the area. The outside area was very nicely maintained. The foyer was fresh and bright with very nice decorations and furniture. The grounds offered easy access for residents, where they can enjoy walking around freely safely each day. We could see that there is also plenty of space to have cookouts, parties and picnics. Indoor rooms had plenty of fresh air and light. Each room was beautifully decorated and furnished. The colors throughout the building were soothing and comfortable. The seniors can easily socialize, make crafts, play games, watch TV and films and participate in many stimulating activities. Residents can also tend the garden. The facility can accommodate all levels of ambulation. Communal activity rooms were all spacious, with comfortable and easy access furniture. Seniors can use the exercise room at any time and also go on daily walks and relax in the whirlpool afterward, which is very nice. Aerobics and yoga classes are offered, and they also have DVDs available. The residents also go on many trips to visit the many Chicago area art galleries and museums, eat at casual and fine restaurants and enjoy the many cultural events offered in the region, such as fairs, festivals and other social gatherings. The dining room was quite nice, with plenty of space. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious. The menus all had healthy food options for all kinds of diets. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them. The private rooms featured plenty of space in nicely decorated surroundings. All had a great deal of natural light and fresh air with very comfortable furniture. The residents here looked very content in their living environment and were well cared for by kind and considerate staff.

We were in the Evanston area, so decided to drop in on the Westminster Place retirement community to see about finding a place for our aunt. As assisted living facilities go, this one truly is lovely. They were able to let us take a tour easily without a reservation, which we really liked. We decided to visit facilities without reservations to get a truer picture of how they operate. The circular driveway resembles ones you see at stately residences throughout the area. The entire estate is surrounded by extraordinary lush greenery that is obviously well-tended. All of the communal areas are bright and cheery. The library was particularly charming, with plenty of easy chairs and ample tables. They also have Internet hookups for those who are interested. The kitchen areas look like those we've seen in upscale homes, fully equipped with the latest appliances. Snacks are readily available at all times throughout the facility in nearby kitchenettes. Health and wellness is a hallmark of the facility, with nurse practitioners always available. The staff is well-appointed and also always nearby. Residents have access to the grounds on an unlimited basis, but staff is always attentive. We liked the holistic and spiritual approach to health that exists there; residents are encouraged to exercise and move around frequently. The many activities offered make it easy for them to do this. Our aunt is very health conscious, so she really appreciates this as well. We saw varying degrees of assistance provided to residents. For example, while some were on walkers, others were fully ambulatory. It was clear that there were plenty of staff around to supervise and handle any need that a resident may require. By the looks of things, we expected that the food would be above-par, and it was. Interesting and healthy choices are available for all of the residents. Lots of fresh veggies and fruits are included in all of the gourmet-like dishes presented. We could see that anyone who stayed at this facility would be quite content, including our aunt. This is most definitely, a very well-thought out and established retirement community.

I'm very happy my mom is moving into Westminster Place. It's a beautiful, large property that's kept up extremely well. The people living there are very nice and there seems to be a real sense of community. Before moving in, everything was freshly painted and carpeted based on my mom's preferences. A move consultant helps develop a floor plan and coordinate some of the moving details. It's expensive, but as long as my mom's happy, safe and comfortable, it's worth it.
